I loved the sound effect of the typing! It was so satisfying!
Thank you brother!
It felt kinda weird but cool at the same time. Liked the chat
I understand xd, thanks man i really appreatiate you liking the game and enjoying it!
I can't figure out what to do so I'm not going to rate it :/It looks like it could be fun
Wait, at what point you got stuck? the chat, the market, the internet?
Nvm I think it was probably an issue with my pc because I couldn't type before
I know how to fix it, try to imagine your mouse in the middle of the mouse sprite instead of the top left. this helps to click better, that’s what i’ve seen when i playtested it
It's fine I fixed it here is my review. Starting off I love these kind of games and I like the chatting idea. The Art/icons looks clean. The UI is kind of weird because it seems like your cursor is not aligned to the middle and with these kinds of games you should most likely allow the players to have more options of things to do but this game seems to lack that and the chat only responds to very specific things. It also doesn't help that there is no hints. I got stuck in the search. But if you decide to make this into a full game I would definitely be interested in playing it.
I would make a hinting system, i alreayd planned for that. I’ll also try to add more options to say in the chat with the 1 word limitation i was forced to deal with when changing the inputfield settings. But thank you for your feedback KraiDev!
Small, but solid game. I like these types of games, so you have plus from me! :>
Oh, one thing: the cursor was delayed a bit, idk if it was planned.
I tried to immitate a smooth mouse, but when paired with a high sensitivity mouse, then the mouse may take time to reach to your mouse position, you can Click ‘P’ to know where is your mouse if you feel lost
Confusing at first but got the hang of it after some tries, but I didn't really like the game. just being honest it's not my type of game but I gave it a try and rated based on what if I liked the genre :)
nah thats fine if you don’t like these types of games, i really didnt have any other idea to make of this theme.
A bit confusing, may have been good to provide the options when talking :)
I could change the placeholder ‘Say Hello’ to hints to what to say maybe, as it is the most visible to the player!
I really like the concept and the presentation, however I kept getting stuck and I'm not sure why. At first I couldn't start pong (like, it just wouldn't open no matter how much I clicked on it), then after reloading it wouldn't let me post the second message. This could be a browser issue, so for the sake of testing I tried both Firefox and Edge.
The one that i playtested the most is the windows version, browser builds are just buggy in general. also the mouse is in the middle of the sprite and not the top left one, sorry! you could also hold ‘P’ to show the mouse for better clicking
I finally had a chance to replay it and managed to get two of the endings (I'm not sure how to get the first one).
Also, I noticed from the other comments that the response options are limited due to English not being your first language, that's a valid reason, but if you were to update this I'd recommend picking a response word you do know (eg, "fine" for the "how's your day?" question) and using a thesaurus to find a wide variety of synonyms which you could put into an array. If the player has a response that's found in the array, then the game proceeds as normal, and if not then the person you're talking with could act confused for a bit before the game progresses anyway. That way there's no restrictions on what the player can type, and if you miss a few synonyms it's not a big deal.
the only problem with that are the bugs and my stupid self mixing two scripts into one. but i think i could make another script that is filled with functions so that the chat system can call it if all doesnt work.
also for the hinting system, im thinking of the placehpdler text “Say Hello” to change to one of the available words to use.
also im planning to try to add more words that people tried to type in, but then i would be needing to change some of the bot text but thats fine. im happy that you played the game again and enjoyed it a second time!
Interesting yet a tad confusing... but I got to beat a bot at pong so 10/10.
less goo, beat that piece of bullcrap of the bot!
Very very cool concept. At first it was frustrating, because of the controls and lack of options, but the more you play, the more interesting it gets. I loved the little conspiracies posted online about uninstalling the app. One point of feedback would be I think you need more control over the mouse, and also language pass. And a last comment too, maybe the "bro" could be removed in the future - when you play as a woman, it sort of makes it feel like it's intended for a male audience and you feel a bit left out. That's all :D
I’m very sorry ma’am, i didn’t put that in my mind the first time i made it, as it was in 2007 and profiles wern’t a thing in 2007 kind of, and ceike chat didn’t have the most capability in making profiles, it was the safest to assume if he was a male. so im sorry if that offended you, i’ll change it and i’ll make sure to add the option to change how smooth and how fast your cursor should be!
Hey no worries, not offended at all! It's just a point of feedback and a principle in general - not just for players but the success of your game, I think you will appeal to a larger audience when you are more inclusive! Best of luck!
Thanks! I’ll keep in mind the different audiences and try to appeal to all of them!
You Too Flo McQ!
Different and interesting game. I think it would be better to see options when chatting. I was trying to say it was a bad day :) I liked the idea. I played 3 times and saw all endings. Good job!
Can you try and rate my game ?
Thanks bro! I’ll definitely add more features later on to improve it like hints in the chat, more options when chatting and more. but for now i like to chill out a bit and focus on my big pile of studies.
Something unique here, frustrating at first, but after 2 minutes of playing it becomes more and more interesting. I love the idea and the realisation, good job on that. Only minus I can point out is the mouse smoothing.
Good Job!
thanks man! i’ll add an option to change how smooth it should be and the spped to better match the large audience next time!
really cool idea! pretty good mechanics and many things I didnt know you can do in Unity
thank you!!
there’s even more you can do in unity. i’m just a bit unexperienced,
Like the unique take on theme!
thanks!! means the world to me!
I didn't know how to play it
you can double click to open programs just like opening any icons in your pc!
in the chat, start by saying hi hello yo or any one word greetings, and respond in a 1 word answer, and make it simple, be aware some bugs may occur, and if you can click something, you can hold the key “p” to show the mouse for hetter precision!
This is pretty cool! Haven't played anything like it before. It felt clunky at times but mostly nice game. Rain added a lot
thanks bro! and that was static, cool that it can be rain!!
that's hillarious! I'm going to listen to it again heheh....
clickng doesnt work some times i tried both version still same probleme but Its great and original idea iit has a nice atmosphere Great Job!
the problem is that the mouse is in the centre of the sprite instead of the top which makes some clicks hard, in the downloadable version, hold the key “P” to show the mouse!
It's a cool and unique game but the clicking mechanic is a bit janky. I got the secret ending and the uninstall the app one but when I wanted to play ping pong i just couldn't open the game. I click on the play image form all angles with or without double click but I just couldn't make it play. I think you should look into it.
Another thing that I dind't like are the restrictions on the text input. I think you made it so there sould be only some kinds of input like hello, hi, good, bad ( you could have put these input and maybe a message for non recognisable text like I don't understand you or can you repeat) it would add life to communication.
The other aspects of the game were awesome. I really liked the feeling the clicking and typing noises make it was a good call.
the colliders on the html5 build are janky and buggy, it works on windows build tho, i play tested that the most.
i had no time to add quality of life. in this case the life of my janky robot. my code wasnt clean by any means and i was very new to many things, like properly using for loops, inputfields, scroll views, instantiate at certain transform, getchild and more. and i was very burnt out when i finished the chat system. you can try the windows version for a local save and a functioning play button, dont click the image tho. if you’ve tried that.
i hope you enjoyed the game tho, its my first game jam so things are rough around the edges. im sorry!
I'm sorry if my words sounded harsh. The game made me a good impression. It's nice and unique .It's astonishing first jam game.Look at mine it's and more janky. I just wanted to point out what I have found.
For the desktop recommendation I would definitely check it out. You have a good game at your hands
Cheers
nah bruv its fine, your game is awsome bro dont let your feelings down like that. you’ll definitely reach the top in a year or two, programming isnt easy, but keep goin!
cool and unique game entry! i ended up getting the doxxed ending my first time round lol but the art and sound was great! really enjoyed playing =)
Thank you lew!!! you do not know how much this means to me! thanks!
The game is very original but it lacks some ergonomic improvements.
I can see that, thanks for the feedback Valber’s Games!
I really like the vibe that the game is creating and perhaps my favourite part is that the mouse clicks sound effects have a nice reverb to them. That being said, after writing one message I couldnt type anything anymore and could not progress, this is perhaps a bug and I would love to play it again once I can progress through that.
At which point have you gotten stuck in? would love to know so i could make it never happen, glad you loved the game FuatW, i’m sorry for not having enough time to make a hinting system wih the chat to tell you what to do if you’re stuck. im so sorry.
my theory for your problem is when playing a browser version, the mouse clicks are registered somewhere else. as the game was made in 1920x1080, the web build had to compress it which resulted in the mouse and the text not colliding well, a way to fix that is to centre your mouse sprite over the text and click which should have the line | and you can click, one thing also, you can press P on the keyboard to show the mouse to not get lost when playing. im very new to making mouse cursors and different looks for them, so it was easy for new people to get lost. im sorry for that inconvenience and i’ll try to indicate it better when typing.
