How does your game fit the theme?
You're in a submarine and you're diving deeper as you progress through the story.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Everything except for some textures and samples was made by me from scratch within the 7 day jam period.

This game is frightning and i enjoyed it, i like the old school graphics, but here's few things:
Controlls are unnecessarly complicated,
there is too much going on at the screen at once
, i like that you have to look around for the objective but some indicator that appears when you are close to it would be helpfull because the level design is complicated and there is not many "LandMarks" to distinguish where i've been and not been before
The game is amazing in every other aspect the sound desing gives me chills, and like i've said before the visuals are great too, this game took the theme literally and is one of the only games with submarines i enjoyed!
Thank you! Glad you liked it even with the challenges.
Honestly I was struggling with mapping 6DoF to keyboard controls and this setup felt right for me, but I have no idea how to improve it or how other people prefer it, so suggestions are very welcome :D
Agreed on the challenge of finding the objectives, I should've made this game mechanic more forgiving. I've added a map as a spoiler in the description to give hints on where they are, and you can use the sonar audio pitch to determine if they're above or below you once you're near, but that's all I can do for now to help you without changing the game itself...
Thanks!
That game id terrifying. I did all as intended: dark room, at night, headphones on, fullscreen. And I loved it.
But I wasn't really able to finish the game. The level design is weird and, in addition to complicated controls, feels unsatisfying. Hasn't been able to find the supportive antennas nor the portal in the final mission.
But apart from these small inconveniences, the game is a banger. Audio is on the highest level, graphics are appealing (you can't even see that those are low-definition textures), the atmosphere is unbelievably engaging. Overall, 29/30. Loved it.
Edit: also would like to see linux and mac builds for the game. I had to play in web, which didn't have the best performance I was hoping for.
Thanks for the valuable feedback! I've added a linux build but it's untested, so if you're willing to give it another try, it'll hopefully perform better. But I have no idea if it works and if the performance is better.
I've also added a topdown map screenshot as a collapsed spoiler in the description, just before the About section. Hopefully that helps you find the objectives!
The Linux build works!
Really enjoyed this one, I will admit that most of the time I spent positioning my sub so it was pointing upwards and then echo the dolphin style jumping out into the air lol.
hahaha it was one of the first features I wonkily implemented because I needed a way for the player to stay underwater. Glad you enjoyed it! :D
Really like the atmosphere of deep diving! And it's a good idea with side cameras :)
Thank you, glad you liked it! Yeah the side cameras seemed like a good idea but the performance impact is massive lol, not gonna rely on that again in future games :D
Really awesome :)
We had a very similar idea but your game has way more gameplay. I really like the interface - I ain't managed to come up with good console elements for my submarine.
Your entry is so pretty though! Wish I could've added foliage and those water effects to mine, would look a lot better lol.
Thanks for playing!
This game give me a spook so many times.
Excellent :D
Thanks for playing!
