This is an enjoyable little exploration game, and I appreciate the inclusion of a mouse sensitivity slider for player comfort. While the gameplay loop is straightforward and easy to grasp, the execution feels a bit rough around the edges and could benefit from some refinement. Considering it's a one-week solo project, it's certainly a commendable effort. For future development, focusing on enhancing the overall user experience could be beneficial. This might include options for adjustable difficulty or reducing the number of sharks near the surface. Despite these minor issues, I commend your efficient utilization of available tools, such as the sprint button and the detailed menu and tutorial. Hope this feedback is beneficial for you and your future in game development :)
Great game overall. The only thing I would change is making the sharks less of a threat near the surface, and have the threat scale with depth.
Also thank you so much for including a sensitivity slider!
I liked the feeling of the game! It felt really dark and spooky, nice job!
i like the game atmosphere and even the lighting but i think the game could be better with the mecanics
Great graphics, but the mechanics and controls are very sensitive.
This game looks really great, and together with the sound the ambience fits very well for the theme.
Just somehow I was a bit lost. The compass only showed me the way to the NPC, but had no money to buy something there. So tried just to dive and find something in the water, but was pretty hard to orientate there (bit too high mouse sensitivity for my taste...) and after a few seconds was eaten by a shark each time unfortunately^^
So can not really say much about the gameplay itself, probably a little tutorial at the beginning would help to understand what you have to do.
But at least running around and diving a few seconds each time was fun :-)
Great graphics and atmosphere. The mouse sensitivity was a bit too high IMO but besides that great game!
Great job on the game! A little polishing and it surely can be more enjoyable. You could improve it by increasing the fov of the camera, less sensitivity and a more consistent ui and more readable fonts.
Camera movement was a bit difficult. Graphics and ambience was nice. Sharks was to aggressive for me :/ It was fun to play. Fits to the theme. Good job!
i found it a bit too hard to get a grasp of the gameplay, since its too hard to see while in the ocean. i also found the camera to be really sensitive lol. The graphics could also use some work/consistency. Although, this still has a lot of potential to being a good game!
Great game! The camera controls seemed a bit too sensitive but otherwise the game seemed well made. Nice job!
First of all, great job with the graphics and the fog effect. Combined with the sounds like the seagulls you made a very immersive atmosphere. I thought the controls were smooth and responsive (besides the high sensitivity at the beginning, probably needs to be lower). I think the only part that really needed more work were the sharks, I kept finding myself getting swarmed by sharks suddenly and I didn't get much of a chance to get away because they were as fast as me. I think it would be more fair if you implemented a system like if the sharks didn't attack at first, maybe swam around the player in circles to "size them up" and then give an audio cue before they attack. Besides that little detail though, I think you did a great job overall! Hope to see you in future jams!
Treasure collector!
Things I enjoyed ✔️
- For starters I liked the controls, it felt intuitive!
- The graphics felt concise, and it felt fun to swim in the ocean water.
- The audio sounds great!
Things I would like to possibly see with your title. 🤷♂️
- I recommend making it so the sensitivity is so high right out the gate.
- Having some extra audio could be cool, like when a shark is close to you it gets louder and louder. Also id recommend having a short tutorial to show the player on how to play.
Overall 📓
You did a great job on this game! I had lots of fun playing the game, if you make some polishing changes I could really see this game getting big!
Cool game! I would reccomend adding some sounds or something when a shark attacks, because I often didn't even notice that a shark is attacking me until i looked at my health bar lol.
