How does your game fit the theme?
The game's premise is that you are a pescamancer, an ancient and mysterious blend of fisher and mage. After a brief period of calm seas, a supernatural storm arrives that brings with it rough seas and sea monsters. You have to find pockets of calm within the storm to catch fish, so that you can appease the gods and restore tranquility to the ocean.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
We wrote all the code from scratch. We did use a handful of CC0 art and audio assets to fill in a couple gaps, but we made all the music and the vast majority of the art from scratch during the past week.

The presentation is spot on - from the in game art to the UI,  the intro and all the other little pieces. I was definitely drawn into the style of it all as soon as I launched the game. I liked the upgrade / fishing loop, and having to search while avoiding the creatures, it was fun to navigate and only left me wanting more to explore, but that would probably require more than 7 days to expand further.

My only nit pick would be around the controls. It was tough to handle navigation, fishing, and other abilities all together as most things were on the left side of the keyboard. I think I might have preferred the fishing controls and the abilities on the right side, but I'm sure that would take some time to experiment with. Well done!

I really like the graphics and really like fish so a game where you fish in a storm with sea-monsters is great fun!
However the font with the small stripes in between is unpleasant to look at for me and you can instacatch fish by spamming z really hard which feels a bit like cheating.

That's a really fun game! I enjoyed it a lot. I love the title as well as the Pescitadel :) Enjoyed the gameplay a lot, but couldn't figure out how the radar works. All other power ups worked well and were very clear, but when i activated the radar, i didn't see any indicator forwhich way to go. Enjoyed wondering around anyway and found plenty of fish without it though. but wondering if it's something i missed, or some kind of bug or glitch. either way, well done! looking forward ot and expanded version of this in the future.

super cute and really well put together. even the little bits of exposition were good. the one thing i struggled with was that sometimes the calm patched would keep disappearing while i was catching a fish, so i'd lose them at the last second lol. but i'd love a full version of this with more upgrades and enemies. great work and thanks for sharing!

I love this game! I don't understand why so few people have rated it. It's so cute and beautiful. I like the concept with calm zones and monsters in the sea. The game looks very well thought out, very well made, no bugs. You can see that you have put a lot of effort into it!

Really sweet fishing game, loved the retro vibes! The mechanics felt smooth, and the music was a perfect fit for the relaxing atmosphere. Some minor improvements could be made, but overall, a well-executed and enjoyable experience.

I downloaded and played this game on my PC, here are a few things I noticed:

Things I liked:
- Fishing minigame / mechanic
- Wave animation / rain effect
- Music and SFX
- Story / flavortext

Things I didn't understand
- Nothing

Things to Improve
- More consistent artstyle / pixel size
- Resize safe zones after success / failed catching fishz

A nice game with simple mechanics and nice SFX and VFX. The music was especially relaxing in the safe zones.
If you have time to review my game, I would appreciate it!

It was fun! The fishing mechanics are fun, and the theme of buying upgrades gives you a better feeling of progress.

Perhaps the audio issue needed to be polished a little, I liked that the music changed but I think a transition would have been better :D.

Either way, it's excellent work! :D

Wow the game is really beautiful! And the music was really sweet. First I see a complete setting menu for a game jam, though I still think you could use physical input ^^

It felt weird when storms stopped abruptely when entering a calm zone, and the zone disapears too easily beneath the boat without noticing it. Otherwise I had a fun time and I enjoyed the Pisci-lore! =D
