How does your game fit the theme?
The storm is the viruses, and the calm is your prep before they arrive in larger numbers (if the game gets expanded).

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I used sample music from FreeSound.org, but the rest is made by myself.

It's a nice short game. I liked it!

Only the music is too monotonous.

i dont know if this was intended but i used the potions to fly and complete the levels XD! that was a fun short and sweet game!

awesome work for your first game! i'd love to see how you go on progressing it if you choose to after the jam, i loved the concept and its clear you've put a lot of effort into this. some of the camera movement was a bit jarring for me, though it's still an awesome game considering you've made it in a week. great job!!

Good work on your first game! I found that you can infinite jump if you throw potions straight down! Its a solid start!

Great job making your first game! That is a huge accomplishment and I hope you keep making more.

Some constructive criticism:

  • Transitions are rough, the camera snaps into place when the player moves out of bounds. For this to work the camera movement should have a logic that can be followed. I.E. the player character touches bottom of screen and transitions to a new screen, the player character should enter from the same X axis at the top.
  • Sometimes the camera follows and other times it snaps to a position. Pick one so it is not so jarring

Thank you! Thanks for the pointers too, I was working on the camera movement on the last day of the jam, so it is a bit messy. I'll be sure to practice this next time :)

I really love this game because every-time someone tells me they don't want to do jams because they say don't have any artistic talent I always tell them "you can do very nice art with squares, cicle and capsules". So now I will send them this game everytime someone tells me that :D.

Great  level design, a bit short and simple but a very good jam entry!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the kind words! Ironically, I did practice some pixel art before the jam started, but I ran out of time to do basically all of the artwork lol

You should develop this game, because the idea is interesting and I had a lot of fun, although it's a pity that it's so short.

Yeah, I think coming up with level designs was one of the hardest parts for me over the week, but thank you for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

the controls feel very nice, and creating an entire game in a week by yourself is super impressive!

Developer

Thank you!

Nice, game movement and shooting felt really nice. Congrats on your first game!

Cool game, even if it was a bit short. The mechanics could definitely be turned into something larger, it's quite enjoyable.

I liked it, I feel accomplished after playing it, this is my first game jam too, and I am happy you were able to finish your game in one week!

Thank you and congrats on your first gam jam! Your game was really cool and unique :)

Hee-ho. Fun game. Very interesting idea about green and brown squares (you think green is your friend, but it's bot right). Thanks for nice experience

Developer

Thank you!

Congratulations on completing your first game. I had fun playing it. The controls were nicely responsive. I can see it developing into something longer with more complicated puzzle aspects between the 2 different blocks that you can avoid, but only 1 kind is destroyable, and then the brown ones falling into place... Could be interesting. Keep at it!

Thank you! I spent like half the jam on just the controls lol
