How does your game fit the theme?
Black Friday Sales were always crazy when I was growing up. I miss them and thus game is a tribute to that hectic and insane time.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All the code is my doing.

I used LowPoly Ultimate Pack asset I purchased from the Unity store a long time ago and converted them into Unreal.

I then used some royalty free music and sound effects.

Good ol' Black Friday Sales

I love the footstep sounds!! Stocking the shelves was super satisfying and I think you used a pixel shader? Which added a really cool look, though I wish I could see some of the items better I think the different products were really charming! I think the door to the storeroom was also way too heavy, super hard to get through especially if there was a box in the way I pretty much couldn't get in anymore. Also the customers really get stuck a lot I had to crowd control the whole time and they still couldn't get through! Maybe add an entrance and exit doors separately? Or the customers not collide as much, I'm not really sure. But it was really fun besides that!!

Developer

There indeed was plans for a ps1 aesthetic to be applied, but never got around to it due to having to rush through UI decisions.

I also really wanted to add items that required a 2-handed pose when carrying, but that's now on the drawing board!

Nice job. Everything works together pretty well, and the gameplay is satisfying! Rest assured that I recognize the footstep sfx, haha. My only qualm is that on the third wave, the customers got a little stuck at the beginning, so the folks coming in were blocking the folks going out (even as they were pushing one another away) - this slowed down the wave tremendously. Otherwise, good stuff ^-^

I really really loved how the crowd of shoppers went from 0 - 100 with the second wave, completely caught me off guard after having only two shoppers before and added this panic I did not expect

only real critisim is due to the shelves seemingly not having a max you can put on them it makes it hard to lose

Developer

I do need to work with being able to understand how or if a shelf is stocked. After a few have playtested I wondered if that would be a problem - thanks for confirming my curiousity!

This was a delightful experience! I enjoyed the bustling crowd and the excitement of pushing them! A straightforward idea with a humorous execution! Please rate my submissiom. Hope you will find it enjoyable!

A straightforward concept with a hilarious implementation. That shove button was both silly and necessary. The models were deformed as they should be in such a game. I enjoyed the rush of idiots running in and the numbers going up. I did get to cheese things a bit because you can stock one of the shelves from inside the storage room, though even if I didn't do that I think I would have liked a little more of a challenge (maybe big annoying characters that take 10 things at once or something). Regardless, that was good frenzy!

Nice game, I like the overall 3D implementation. Overall a nice work. Good Luck!

This was really fun! Having the massive explosion of people coming out of the car and being able to shove them was a really smart addition. The AI was good too (though I think the entry door could have been a bit wider), and visually seeing the shelves get stocked as you put them in was satisfying, as well as seeing the customers walk out with their item. You nailed the game loop, I hope you add more to the game!
I also did a time-management game where you serve customers, I don't usually recommend my game when I leave a review but I think you in particular might enjoy it if these kinds of games are your thing :)

I had too much fun playing this :D Loved the chaotic nature of it! And the bugged out arms of the customers are hilarious.

It was a goofy fun, idea can be expanded in many ways, with better graphics and more refined work, it can become a really nice goofy indie game!

I love the goofyness of it, impressive how you made it still fun while also funny!!

Developer

Thanks!

The game looks really cute, and I liked the sounds, but I found it hard to open the door, and when I take too much stock, some of it flies out. Aside from that, I really liked it, great job!

Fun concept, people looks interesting (I thought they were zombies)

Developer

Hah! Yeaaaah the model was messed up and I just had to give up and continue on other parts of the game. I'm definitely going to polish this up after though and turn it into something. I had a fun time!

Fun game, I like the style and the fact that a massive amount of people flood your store, its pretty funny, I think it was fun to play, I wish there was more of a goal besides buying more products. I liked pushing people around that was fun too. good job :D

Developer

Very true! I needed more time to implement more things to worry about, like fights, trampling of customers, stealing items, etc...
More things to do next!

Really fun idea, loved the silly sound the customers make :) Some notes:

  • It was super annoying to get past that heavy door all the time - actually the hardest part of the game lol
  • Whats uhhhh what's goin on with those arms?
  • Large batches of customers get stuck at the front door, slowing everything down. I got to a point where people were trying to come in at the same as as others trying to go out, and it got suuuper congested.
Developer(+1)

I noticed that the door performed VERY differently on a compiled build. I think it's stiffness is based on FPS, so the more performant your computer, the harder it is to get past that door.

Lol, the arms were definitely messed up. I was trying to turn the LowPoly Ultimate Pack model into a player model and ran into some issues. I wasted almost a whole day and I just gave up. I had to continue on other parts of the game. Really quite silly lol.
Yeah I'm kiiind of wanting that sort of congestion to occur, but I wasn't able to really put into the game ways to mitigate the congestion. I had a mechanic in the game that was based on how many times a customer bumped into another customer. It would cause them to burst in rage - and the placeholder for that was for them to shove people away from them. I wanted more things to occur though, like fights, stealing items, trampling people to possible death. But didn't have enough time for it all by the deadline. We'll see how much more I get implemented!

I don't know why I lost the game because there is no indicator of how good or bad my store performs. Also the customers got stucked in the door XD. Although, I like the gameplay, the sound effects, and it's fun. Good work!

It's true! There's nothing aside from visibly seeing (albeit partially) the shelves having stock that would indicate you need to stock the shelves.

Definitely a needed feature. Maybe the cashier can call out for the restocking of a particular aisle
