How does the game fit the theme?
Nothing Can Go Wrong… as long as you manage to keep everything under control during the remainder of your mission! In this 3D First Person Perspective game, you will need to quickly clean up the abundant replicating Tetras that are loose on your ship, while the computer manages the ship’s systems for you… until they fail one by one. Can you keep the ship on course until the end?

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I use a framework that I wrote myself over years of using Godot. I call the framework EverGreen. All other code and assets were made from scratch for the game jam.

How many people worked on the game?

Thank you for playing our game.

took me abit to get started but over good vibes, it was fun to explore while collecting things

I like the music and the visual and the over all movement was pretty good

Developer

Thank you for playing our game. Your game was fun, I just had to keep finding the exit.

The game mechanics are really cool, espeically with sucking in the Tetras and dispensing them in the correct spot. It is a bit hard to play with so much information given to you and not understanding what the panels in the wall do in the beginning, but there is a lot of potential from this game. Overall, good game!

A lil confusing at the start but i really liked the visuals!

Developer

Thank you for playing our game and thank you for the feedback.

How do I turn the camera?

Developer (1 edit)

If on PC/Laptop, mouse controls your camera/steering while WASD is used to move.  OH>>  You need to make sure your mouse is being captured in the browser, though.  If you can see the cursor, it's not captured!  Press 'R' or '\' to capture your mouse if it doesn't capture upon start.

Submitted

Okay, cursor capture worked but it's always pulling down and to the right.

Developer

This sounds like a very weird bug.  Do you happen to have a controller or second keyboard plugged in that might be creating some kind of feedback loop? Can you tell me which browser you're using?  I wish I could resolve it for you, but if others report the same kind of issue, maybe we can figure out if there's a particular edge-case situation that is causing this problem.

I thought the game was great, but I was a little confused as to what to do, even after reading the signs. Especially with the thrusters, where I tried to keep them at 100% but was still getting the alarm. I think it would be great if the signs explaining each task were clearer to better understand. But other then that, I really enjoyed the game.

Developer

Yes, the alarm continues for as long as either engine remains above the optimal heat threshold... and if we had a lot more time, I think we could have fine-tuned the logic to turn off the alarm if the "hot" engine was shut off.  Did you survive to the end after you figured it out?

Submitted

I thought this game was interesting idea, though I do believe it could've been clearer on what you needed to do even with the tutorial I was confuse. I did like the visual style though it was definitely unique.

I appreciate the honest feedback.  We really didn't want to make it too easy to beat on the first playthrough, because part of the fun and challenge (in our opinion, anyway) is learning from a previous failure.... but perhaps we should have lowered the intensity for the jam.  Lesson learned.  And thank you.

Really cool game! It was a little long, but it's really good for being made in one week! I agree with some of the other commentors, some of the systems in the game are explained by signs on the wall that I am willing to admit, I didn't read when I first passed them. Overall, the game was great, but my ability to read is not.

Developer

Thank you for playing our game. I will be playing yours a little later today as it is next on my list. Also thank you for the feedback.

Regarding the length of playtime, which is currently a 15 minute countdown timer.....   Do you think maybe it would have been a better experience if the mission ended successfully sooner?  It starts with only one critical task, but as each of the 3 systems on the ship lose their automatic functions, we did want the player to have a few minutes between each of those new situations to 1) discover the problem 2) figure out how to fix it and 3) adjust their task prioritization to include monitoring that system for the remainder of the timer.  It's designed to be a high-stress balancing act in the final minutes.  But maybe the lesson we will take away is to lower the intensity, shorten the challenge and try to guarantee more successes on the first play.

Thank you for the critical feedback.  :)

I believe the pacing of the game is well thought out, and I certainly felt the panic in the final minutes. I think it would be possible to adjust some of the timing and shorten the cooldown, but it isn't really necessary. I'm just used to jam games where you usually try to get the player's attention fast and then keep them interested all the way through, which works well for a lot of arcade style high-score games that people make. I do agree with your last point, that maybe it is a little harsh if the player loses towards the end of the 15 minute cooldown, but I think the longer, slowly increasing tension style of pacing works extremely well for your game.

Overall, I think it may be beneficial to shorten the length of the cooldown and give the player slightly less time between critical tasks, but not so much that it's hectic from the start. Even if it only cuts out a minute or two of the game, it could make the game more forgiving.

Those are my thoughts
Hope you find them helpful :)

I understand what you mean.  It may be that the game we made isn't a great fit for a jam, but we sure did learn a ton that we will remember for the next one.  I really appreciate your detailed response.

Really impressive! Generally a bit hard to figure out what you're supposed to do at first but pretty cool for a game jam game! The seperate levels make it a bit difficult to get a full picture of the ship and at one point I was stuck in a loading screen and had to restart. Really like the ship design.

Developer

Sorry to hear about the loading screen issue.

Developer

I wonder was the time about to run out, when you got stuck on a loading screen? I suspect there is a bug in the logic that may be due to players transitioning between scenes as the game is about to end. If you think that may be right let me know as it will help me track down the bug. Thank you for your feedback.

Developer

I will be working on a new patch to address the loading issue. It will not be available for several hours yet. But thank you for your help in identifying this issue.

Developer

I released a patch: 0.1.0-stable4 which should fix the issue for getting stuck in a loading screen. Thank you for your help.

Played and rated! a biot tough to understand what to do sometimes, but a cool game nontheless

All the mechanics were quite nice, although it took me a while to understand how to use the systems, great game though!

Developer

Thank you for playing our game and for the feedback.

The individual level loading is incredible! Very impressive you had optimization in mind, even in this limited time of development. The vacuuming mechanic is pretty fun, although I couldn't quite  get the grasp of what exactly am I supposed to do with it at first.

Good submission, keep it up :)

Developer

The learning curve is a little steep, mostly by design... but it is definitely beatable once you figure out how to prioritize the failing systems in between collecting and refining the constantly replicating tetras.  There is a tutorial in the main menu and many visual hints, but I would guess that for most people, they won't survive the first 1-2 attempts.

Submitted

Like the other one said maybe just use the door that already load the scene first. I got forever load time on some occasion. Other than that the gameplay seems promising and innovative! Rated!

Developer

If you have time, what browser and system were you playing on? I have been able to play it on a Android S10 so far without issue. I had one play-tester that did have a problem, but we found out his browser was running in Software Rendering mode. Once that was fixed his frame rate was well over 100fps on a Nvidia 1080.

I have Nvidia RTX 3050 Laptop with i5 intel 11th gen, Running on chrome. Hopes that help

Developer

Thank you.

All the systems you came up with are really neat. It’s a bit hard to figure out how to interact with the systems at first, I kept left click and vacuuming by accident! It would be great if you could figure out a way to get the whole station into one scene so level transitions aren’t necessary, the loading scenes break up the flow of the game a little. Really creative idea though!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you Tom for trying out our game. We were going to load all of the levels at once. But I pushed for individual levels to optimize for lower end hardware. A dedicated PC version of the game would definitely feature all of the levels loaded at once.
Please rate our game if you have not already. I played and rated your game. Again thank you.
