Had a play of your game in this video here - at 15:00 -, where I give my thoughts while I play. Hopefully it's helpful feedback.
If you have time I'd greatly appreciate it if you could give my game a go to, happy jamming
Pretty sympathic shooter, reminds me of a game of tha kind where you are in the same setup but in multiplayer (I don't remember the name). The game is a bit too easy (for once I won't complain), but it's hard to predict where the robots are going to attack, especially since the delay of destruction of the windows is really small. I didn't even see at first glance that there was an upper floor, until a robot came down and attacked me. Apart from that, it's pretty solid, I like it :)
Yooo, you legitamately made a survival shooter tho! That's dope, dude! I made it through all 7 days, and I actually had some moments that gave me a bit of a jump. If you added just a bit more polish like fog, some furniture, and some lighting changes you would have something SUPER viable.
ALSO, is there a secret room on the second floor?
nice models dude, the game design and grraphics both are more than epiiic !!
btw i rated ur game can u do the same pls ??? and thx !!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Even though the style wasn't anything hyper realistic. You really struck it home with the audio. At the first wave before the enemies spawned I was rather anxiously waiting for something to appear and then you started to hear numbers and a slowly moving robot. One possible improvement is that maybe check how could you make it so, that the robots could lose limbs but still continue.
To be honest, That style there could work, like very simplified style. It just has to be made so that it looks like it's not placeholder but intentional. Also btw, it was a great idea that the robot didn't run at you, but pretty slowly walked. When you started to hear the numbers from somewhere around the house, it was creepy :D
Fun game for sure! very tense when you turn and those quiet robots are just behind you xD spooky.
It could actually fit the theme way better with few little tweaks:
You could add a transparent shader effect on windows that makes it seem like the robots are coming from other dimension. add voice lines like "get in the hole!", "Hail hole!!!" to play at random to give it a purpose and a story.(well then my game had no actual story either)
weapon system improvements:
If gun had reloading, it would be more fun(for a horror game) because that delay tense up the player for a moment. making shotgun limited and adding a pistol with unlimited ammo, with a chance of shotgun bullets being dropped by the robots would be great. If you are adding shotgun, make sure there can be multiple enemies so player can one shot more than 1 enemy.
simple visual improvements:
make the game darker, and give player a torch to take some info from player. very important for a horror game. you could make the robot head light glow with emissive material. or maybe you wanted to make sure it works smooth on most pcs instead of making it high graphics? do use more particle system. it just adds to stuff.
But I understand you didn't have much time and unlike me you actually made everything yourself within the jam time. I used my own old weapon system code and tweaked it into my game. So good work! making animation work with the game is also work that i avoided.
All the best!
verry cool game
I love the theme very much and the way the intensity of the light fit the horror theme and every other object in the game
I loved that camera effect very imersive
Good work
I enjoyed
A fun game. One thing I would maybe add is ammo. Per wave you get this amount of ammo. Spend it wisely. Something along those lines. The game has a few bugs such as textures / object clipping through each other or the monsters just running through the windows. Otherwise, a fun game!
ngl, I really hate horror, so the first thing I did was optimise the horror out of it. I didn't repair windows (except in between waves). I camped a corner and shot anything that moved. I am perfectly happy with this, but I'd imagine you wouldn't want people camping. On the first wave I moved around, but once I'd settled, it was smooth sailing (once again, probs not what you want). Awesome menu, and the sound effects are pretty cool.

Thanks so much for playing and the really good feedback! I do agree, I'd love for people to have to roam around (maybe defend different objectives, etc?) during the waves. Camping shouldn't be the best strategy, but it's a bit too easy atm haha. And let's say you might have given me a great idea for an easter egg with that code, so stay tuned for future versions ^^
It just need a little refinement here and there. But I can't see how this game's related to theme of "holes".
dude how are those robots so creepy? One would think zombies would be creepier but the way you can hear their distant number chanting is so unsettling lol. Really fun game, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Give mine a try too :)
It´s a really fun game. I like how the robots break through the windows, making the game harder over time by giving other robots free entrence.
