Great game. I loved the overall experience, except the issue with the purple bushes but you already know that.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it!

Wow, I really like the use of the unreliable narrator, made for an interesting story! Things like the 'world record long jump' were really cool! I did stumble into an unfortunate bug tho, I was falling as I entered the room after the long jump, and clipped through the world, soft locking myself. The game was enough fun to replay, and I'm glad I did. One thing I'd consider is making some of the visuals clearer. Some holes killed you when you fell in and some took you to the next room. The purple bushes looked more like spikes, and it took a while to realise they were harmless. Not sure if that was part of the unreliable narrator thing, but there was also some purple bushes that you could fall through.

Overall the game was great, I loved the style of the game, from the graphics and music to the story. All a very cohesive and polished experience, I had fun playing it!

Developer

Thanks JustCamh! Sorry about that bug and the purple bushes were the narrators memory loss, we should have communicated that better...

I love it! Very mysterious, great graphics and great sound to match!

Developer

Thank you!

Great game. The art is very nice and the music fits the mysterious theme. The controls were pretty good too. I think it could use more decoration in the scene though, and I thought it was a bit annoying when you couldn't tell if any of the purple stuff was a solid object or just background material. But overall, very fun. Hope you'll check out my game too!

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed our game! We will decorate our scenes more in our future games, and that purple stuff... that's supposed to be his memory loss but we should have probably communicated it better!

Submitted(+1)

I totally understood how the physical nature of the purple stuff fits into the concept, but I was just worried about how that idea translates into gameplay, especially for a platformer. I'm imagining a scenario where I have to do a lot of jumps to get somewhere then take a random chance on whether some memory loss area is solid or not then ending up falling all the way back down if I guess wrong. It would feel a bit unfair and tedious to get all the way back to that spot when you already just cleared it. But that's just my thoughts.

Really well done, wall jumpings tricky to do good and it felt nice and responsive.

Developer

Glad you liked the movement!

Nice art style, could've needed some more background tiles and some more decorative elements into the world in general. So far nice though, now just make a additional scene where he sprains his ankle.

Developer

Thanks! We will keep that in mind for our next game..

Sound design and art style really make this a gem to play! Well done.

Graphics and sound were absolutely astounding. Bit of a rough ending, but a very enjoyable experience nonetheless.

Developer

Thanks Snowy! We ended up running out of time in the end so just wanted to get that in there as fast as possible..

So impressive graphics and sound. Deep atmosphere. But I got stuck after area with huge view. And yes, the change of view sized are made magnificent. Like you entering the cliff and see the huge perspective. Perfect!

Developer

Sorry you couldn't see the whole game but I am happy you enjoyed the start of it!

Interesting take on the theme, very unique! One of the spawn points forced me inside of the wall and I had to restart, however XD. Overall a great concept and very creative.

Developer

Very sorry about that, a lot of people have been experiencing that bug but glad you enjoyed the rest of the game!

This is another one of my favorites from the jam so far, really good work! You nailed the theme, I love some narration and story to go with simple, solid mechanics and the audio is great. It was definitely challenging and rewarding, just really good all around!

Nice work with narration! I love this game! great work! Best luck

Nicely done work. I like this little guy and the idea of the violet wall/ground confuse. :)

Developer

Well... It wasn't intended but if you liked it that's all that matters!

Oh, so i figured out a bug? Nevermind i had fun playing it xD

I like wall jump! The audio is very calming and the graphic is good.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed playing!

What a challenge! Great work with the wall jumping; from personal experience I found that to be quite a hard mechanic to nail, also I really like how you went towards implementing a unique kind of hole with your story!

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

Glad you liked the wall jumping, I spent a lot of time on that and thanks for playing!

Oh, some time after the cave I was glitched inside the ground and couldnt get out haha (I respawned kind of inbetween two screens after dying and kept falling into the ground) but it was fun

Developer(+1)

Sorry about that, I didn't have much time for bug fixing but glad you had some fun with the rest of the game!

Submitted(+1)

The gameplay was very entertaining, with a tight platforming controller - always good to see a well-implemented wall jump. That said, it was occasionally hard to tell the difference between foreground and background (easy fix, turned up my brightness). I felt like the idea of holes in a long-ago story was such a rich idea, but the gameplay never felt fully connected to the story, or as connected as it could. HOWEVER - the solid platforming moments, great music (awesome death sound effect too), and the ENDING... Very quick, yet entertaining time.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind words, I spent a lot of time perfecting the wall jump and thought it turned out great as well and will keep in mind the background and foreground contrast for our next game!

fun little game, a bit hard for me ^^"

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it I will probably add a little training section or make the difficulty curve a little better our next game!
