In what way does your game fit the theme?
This difficult racing game requires you to constantly rewind the wind-up key to your toy car that you can drive around a bedroom.

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, I made everything myself. The only thing I did not code was the original car controls and camera controls.

Enjoyable game. Felt like i was in Toy Story for a few minutes.

Only thing i was really struggling with were the camera controls. I would have liked to inverse them but it's more of a personal preference i think.

Good job ^^ Would have loved more parcours challenges :)

Developer

yeah the camera controls were changed after submission. thank you for the feedback. i like the parkour challenges too

The game was really cool and the use of rewind in the game was good. The only problem that i had was the camera movement was kinda too fast and the car was really hard to steer

Developer

yeah i agree. thanks for the feedback

I did the idea of playing w a wind up car in a kid's bedroom.  My one recommendation is to add a sound que when the wind up meter is gone.  Nice job!  Keep it up!

Developer

That's a good idea. thanks!

Nice!

A really cool idea as a way to use the theme. I'd have liked it a little better if perhaps the winding actually just made you go forward by itself as an accelerator, as the way that it is just meant that I was just driving around while clicking repeatedly. I really liked the style and gameplay though, it was cool to slide it around!

I loved playing this game and I see soo much potential if you do some changes.

What I liked:

  • Tutorial section to pratice
  • Room layout is very nice and detailed
  • Reminds me of Toy story
  • Jumping off Ramp is awesome
  • all the bits and pieces laying around on the floor

Improvements

  • Rewinding sound would add more game feel
  • Fix car drift , too much right now
  • No time limit or more so you can explore the room
  • Restart option (When car knocks over, I just have to wait since I can do nothing)
  • Camera stationary like in driving games or limited rotation view more
  • Other toys to interact with like monster truck, police cars , bandits , trains sets, roller coasters etc.

Bugs

  • Nothing I could find. Well done!

Really impressed with the game and the room looks amazing. Really reminded me of playing with toy cars as a kid.  Check out my game too when you have a chance. I would love your feedback <3

Thanks for this awesome post! Thanks for the feedback! There is a restart feature in the pause menu. I should mention that in the description

Nice game and aesthetics. Controls feel a little slippery and I feel that clicking  doesn't add much to the game. Maybe if the initial wind-up was all you got that and you'd have to stop at the right place could be better (although that wouldn't fit the theme).

Developer

i agree. the friction was changed after the submission process was over and its much better to control. The wind-up mechanic was kinda hard to choose what to do. i like the mechanic right now, but I think it needs some type of improvement

We loved the game! It's so much fun drive and drift around the room, the only thing that it's really anoying it's the camera control, because it's inverted controls to rotate it.  Also we played your game listening to Inital D ost's after finishing all levels to have more fun xD!

Developer

haha that's awesome! thanks for the feedback

Developer

Good job I like the idea and its really fun to play but I think you could get more wind time as it just feels like I am just spamming the mouse all the time to keep going

Developer

definitely agree on that! thanks for the feedback

Music is interesting. I love drifting the car. I wish there was more time to explore the room. Nice job on the 3d enviornment!

Developer

yeah i should add a room with no timer for the player to explore

I really love the wind-up mechanics and how your car moves whenever you wind it up! The aesthetics also remind me of toy story!

Developer

Thank you! that's what i was aiming for

Developer

Incredibly fun game! Driving the car up the ramp and into the box is ever so satisfying! Definitely one of the best submissions I've played so far. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! i appreciate that!

Cool game, but the camera controls are backward and really hard to control. Also there is no penalty to just spam clicking to keep your car re-winded.

Developer

yeah i might add something so the player cant spam click

Submitted(+1)

Uuurgh, why are mouse input inverted by default? so hard to control

Developer

Cinemachine camera controls. i probably should have learned how to change it
