In what way does your game fit the theme?
After reaching the end of the level and pulling the lever, the player has to rewind his movements back to the door at the beginning of the level.
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, I wrote all of the code myself during the jam, but I used premade assets that I found online for art and audio.

Very nice! Love the art effect of leaving behind a trail of where you where + the animation looks very nice! And works very well to trace back my path. The idea of playing the game again but not controlling the character but only the timing is great! and the main character looks very nice!I
I did have problems with the replay button, why is it there if i finished the level but also its way to big and easy to click in a hurry (like i did the idiot i am). And i would not use the backspace button its at a weird place to use and play the game i think personaly. Other than that every nice and looked and felt great!
And i maybe its an idea to give the red diamonds more meaning. I did not really feel the need to pick them up after failing to many times and just left them there. Maybe it could be money for a shop or like collecting letter or something so i want to pick them up other then just a score thing.
Overall i really liked it!
Thank you very much for your feedback! I'm glad you liked it!

For me the rewind mechanic didn't seem to be working, even after trying the downloaded version :(
After pushing the level, the player character seemingly "freezes" as time stops. After this happens, press the Backspace key on your keyboard, and the player should rewing his movements. If you can, please let me know if this works or not.
It worked and the following minutes where me enjoying the game Great job! looks alot like my game hehe
Yes. A very cool game. I am not sure if you would agree, but maybe have the shadows eventually dissipate. This was really well done. I liked your take on the theme most of all!
Great entry!
Could you please play and rate my game as well?

Thanks! What shadows are you talking about?
Hey Ninja Monkey! It wasn't a critique. It was kind of a feature request. I don't know what you want to call them, but the "shadows" (subdued replica) that get left behind of the character would be kind of neat to see them eventually fade out.
Again, not a critique. I really liked your game!
Oh! Thank you for your feedback!
I finished the whole thing, really nice.
The platforms were kind of finicky sometime.
Thank you for your feedback. Yeah, I'm working on that.
Great game, I like how the rewind mechanic forces you to make clean movements to not complicate the rewinding.
Glad you liked it!
I really liked the game. It is a solid idea with future possibilities with only a few improvements.
Great job! Nice platforms and good Puzzles!
audio is spot on, graphics are cute, and mechanic is interresting, congrats!
so yeah a very cool game XD
Thanks! I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed it!
Very fun game! Great concept and executed pretty well. Good job!
Thanks!
Even without much poolishment (considering what you say in the game page), it is a pretty solid game, both in art (liked the enemy robots), level design and audio. Nice rewind mechanic. But, really, calling your game 'A Very Cool Game'?
Thanks! I didn't have time to come up with a name and my creative juices where running low, so I asked my mom and she told me to call it "A Very Cool Game". The rest is history 😂
Very very clever idea, fits well with the theme! Levels without the needing to collect the gems are very easy, so I would make them obligatory. Also, asset selection is also pretty nice. Overall, solid entry!
Thanks, happy to hear that you liked it!
Here we have a really good game. What I like: The art, audio (I know you didn't make them, but that doesn't change the result. Obviously it would be cooler/better if you made them too^^). Game design is great. With the layout you made the player has really to use the rewind mechanic (+ to dodge things). Character Movement(+ mechanics) feels good, all in all a good entry!
Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it :)
Interesting concept but I found myself waiting around which disrupted the flow. Overall a good game :)
Thank you for your feedback. Happy to hear that you liked it!
Good gameplay and nice graphics and visual effects to support it, I liked the rewind mechanic on this one, makes great puzzles
Thanks, happy to hear that you liked it!
I'm impressed with the gameplay and game design of this one. The rewind mechanic is very interesting, with the added visual effect of the previous positions, which I love. It forces you to reach the objective with 'clean' paths so when rewinding you know what comes next, using it to dodge obstacles. The audio and art chosen match very well. Overall great game, with an interesting and enjoyable mechanic.
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
Its a great platformer, I love your mechanic of rewinding. the level design is great.
I loved that there is a level select menu, the options menu works well and the colliders are excellent, I didnt have any issue.
I got every red gem :D
overal, A Very Cool Game ;)
Thanks! And well done on getting 'em all! ;)
Played through your game in this video here at 01:01:20
Thanks! It was very helpful for me, and I solved all of the problems that you faced. You can play the game after the rating period ends to check out the new updates!
Cool little game! The mechanics are pretty interesting. I like how theres a shadow/ onion skin of the player every few frames and how the controls are pretty smooth. The graphics and audio are aesthetically pleasing and well done! However, some suggestions would be to add a little backstory to make the game more juicy. Or maybe some more content other than gems, moving enemies and shooting thingys. Other than that, its a pretty great game! It has a lot of potential too, coming from a one week game jam!
Thanks! I am definitely going to add some more content, and I'm hoping to add some sort of backstory soon. Stay tuned! You can get notified when I release a new update by following my itch.io page.
awesome use of rewind and well made art but:
rewinding makes it hard because its slow
trail sprites are too annoying
levels are hard from the start
i don't think many people know what is backspace, i literally googled it
good game after all
Thank you for your feedback. I will take that into consideration.
Maybe you should say "delete key" or "s" or "down arrow"? Just a suggestion btw i think the trails are fine. Maybe apply a bit more ghost effect to it
Loved it, the theme executed perfectly and the levels are very fun and the gems give that extra challenge that every completist would love
I'm happy to hear that you liked it!
