This is a neat little concept, with some elegant design! Forcing the players to choose an upgrade is well thought out, and leads to some interesting tactical decision making.

The game could benefit from some more enemy types, but just the one is fine for a jam game. I wonder if the upgrades would make more sense with the downsides removed? I don't know how you were balancing the numbers under the hood but if the power-ups were only ever gains then the game would become more frantic the longer it goes on as you wouldn't be canceling out past upgrades. A little game juice (screen shake, more impactful sfx, ect.) would probably go a long way as well. Prehaps as the bullets get heavier a small knockback could be applied to the character on firing?

Overall this is a really great little game, and I had a lot of fun playing it. Well done!

Nice one! I liked the sound made of noise, classic and climatic, maybe with some ambiance or music to fill that would be better but pretty decent still.
I had a lot of fun with it, shooting feels nice, graphics got nice style in there, probably didn't went extremely far but that's quite a game!

Nice work!

Nice work! I really liked the concept, and we were actually going to implement a similar system in our game. The beginning levels were very slow, but towards wave 12 things got a lot faster and fun! Suggestion - maybe make this room based and give the player an upgrade after each room they clear? This has a lot of potential!

I like this game very much. The idea that all the improvements apply not only to the player but also to the enemies is very unique. I like the sound of the guns, but some background music would be appreciated. The art style looks clean and elegant. However, I did come across a strange bug. It happened after my death. I clicked play again and this started happening (video below). Overall a great game :)

Thanks for playing! I know about this bug already and will try to fix it post-jam.

Nice game :)

I like particles when an enemy dies but there is a bug when you press echap and restart the game enemies do not spawn

Developer

Yeah, I'm aware of that. It fixes itself if you quit to menu and then play again. Thanks for playing!

Nice lighting effects! I liked how the shots hit the pigs as well. The progression felt solid, and the skill-up system was a really nice touch! Definitely had fun with this one.

Cool concept and pretty crisp feeling, well done.  Only suggestion would probably be a few more enemies per wave to ramp up the action earlier on. Feel free to give my game a try if you are interested :)

I really like the idea that the upgrades apply to enemies as well, good job!

First of all, I really liked the idea of upgrades applying to enemies too, I don’t recall ever seeing a game that has this mechanic. I found the game pace to be a bit slower than expected, I thought the game would get more chaotic early on. One thing I found lacking tho was music, I believe music plays a great part in making the arena feel more alive. But overall Great Job!

This game was really good.  I really liked the flow of the game and the upgrade system.  I it's like choosing your own difficulty, but the game still gets more difficult.  The art was simple and effective, but I am confused about who the main character is.  I think sound effects could have been a bit louder and more energetic, and music would really improve the game.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I totally agree about audio and music. And I have no idea who or what the character actually is.

I love the idea, and the random elements that make it seem more chaotic. great stuff

Neat take on the theme, I would have liked some graphics on the player for when reloading but other than that I also liked that the buffs apply to you and the enemies :)

Fun game, shooting feels nice and responsive, and I like the rogue-lite upgrade system between waves.

Good game, I really like it. It's a very interesting mechanic, but I personally found the game very easy. It seems to me that increasing the number of enemies would increase the chaos. In the screenshots, the game looks like bullet hell, but in my case it looked more like a duel

Developer

Number of enemies is increasing every wave, but sometimes enemies just don't spawn for some reason ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thanks for playing!

Nice game, pretty similer to mine, The sart was very cool and the gameplay mechanics was also great. Only thing was it was a bit slow. If things would've little bit more chaotic that'be a great addition. Anyways great game!!

Thank you! I considered making it faster, but everyone who played found this very hard :)
