This is such a cute game! I love both the graphics and mechanics of this game. I like how I can push the furniture around to destroy the envelopes and stun Perry. Overall well done! I enjoyed the game a lot.
Thanks so much~! I appreciate it ^-^ I'm thrilled you figured out all the mechanics~ I wasn't sure if it would be a problem that I never spelled out you could stun Perry and destroy envelopes with the furniture.
Love the HP vibes ah ah, fun game to play !
this whole game is a masterpiece ! i like the idea
Art and music was awesome!! I like the perspective yall chose to!
I really love the art, the music is also really good. And even tho the game doesn't have a score counter, it is still really fun and strategic. Great job!
Lovely art style! Simple and clear gameplay. Great job overall!
(Translated from Spanish) Good idea! It's quite entertaining, although it does get a bit frustrating when Perry gets too close to an edge, it doesn't seem like it's possible to get him out of there. Being able to push furniture made it quite fun and the game had a good mood, with pretty nice graphics.
Regarding the audio, the volume of the game is too low and I can barely hear the sounds.
Thank you! Yes I'm afraid I made it too quiet in the end, because the first few uploads were so loud, and I think I went too hard in the other direction. I hope that everyone can still enjoy the gorgeous music Colyde made for this game, and I'll be sure to update it with louder sounds as soon as files can be updated again.
Awesome! I love it! Great art, gameplay was fun, and the art and animation really brought it all together. I loved "Perry's" expressions, and also it was a really fun moment when I discovered I could hit him with furniture for the first time hahaha.
Something I would've liked to see is a visual indication of where the furniture will go when you throw it. I found myself running around to collect the letters after strategically placing the furniture since that was more reliable for me.
Once again, great job! Congrats on completing the jam, you guys should be really proud of what you've done!
Thanks so much~ I agree that the furniture kicking controls are rather clumsy. I think if I were to do a mechanic like this again, maybe I would have the player hold down space instead of pressing it, and then have something appear to show where it will go, and let go to kick.
Great way of implementing the theme, also love the graphics and the music. Nice touch on adding variances to the end (and thumbsup for the cool references) :)
Oh yay~ I'm so happy you noticed and read the fail messages ^-^ some of the play testers just clicked right through it each time, so I wasn't sure if people would appreciate it.
Harry Potter... I liked the game. Great job.
I like how I play as the evil in this game lol , good job!
Thanks~! I pictured it really funny in my mind, and then as I was working on it 12 hours a day for a week, I started worrying it was actually too violent and mean, and people would feel bad for Perry and dislike the game. I'm glad you enjoyed it, though, and the humor came across!
This was so fun! I liked the narrative implementation of the theme and pixel art was also crisp and neat! Overall good job!
I would love if you drop some feedback for my game too :)
Hey Infiniverse~ thanks so much for the feedback. I'll be sure to check out your game, and everyone's whose been kind enough to play my game and let me know what they think ^-^
Very cool game, there’s a nice layer of strategy with the furniture and letting the kid move in a desired direction instead of just picking up the letters as fast as you can. I wish I could see my score but it was still fun on it own merits
Thanks! I LOVED your game! ^-^ so that means a lot. I agree that a score would improve the experience. That and making the kicking controls easier to use.
This was a super fun little game! Great take on the theme and very great feeling over all to the game with the art, SFX, and humor.
Shoving the furniture was great, but I seemed to always end up with it against the walls and hard to get back out after a while.
Thanks for sharing.
I loved it with all the hidden references. It is just sooo much fun to play and i recommended it to a few other friends immediately...
that's so kind of you~ thank you! ^-^
I loved this, the design is great and it is very funny pushing tables and chairs into perry!
Thank you for playing! And thanks for your feedback~ I'm so glad it was clear you could do that. In my initial prototype, the instructions were written out with no visual icons, and people would press "got it" to play, but almost all play testers wouldn't realize they could shove furniture. So I added the icons instead to make it more scannable and I'm so glad that now players are able to enjoy all the features of the game ^-^
Nice, Great Job! I quietly enjoy the game!
Thanks for playing! I appreciate the kind words ^-^
What an amazing entry! Great job!!
Thanks so much! ^-^
nice game
but i felt a bit bad for the kid
Thank you~ and yes I was worried about it being a little overly violent and mean. the original GDD just had picking up letters and keeping them away from Perry, and I thought it's pretty funny to grab them away from him and make him sad. But then obstacles were suggested in playtesting, and once the furniture was there, it was only logical to allow the player to push it around, and if you push furniture, it might hit Perry, and then it's only logical it should stun him and be advantageous to the player... And that's how this became a child abuse simulator by accident XD
Nice game! Clear HP reference & inspiration, nothing wrong with that :) Would be nice to have some score shown, like how many letters you’ve caught. Anyways, good job!
Thanks for playing my game! I agree this is one of my biggest regrets, is not keeping some kind of score. I thought it would be awkward to reward players for catching the letters, since the map is on a timer and winning will probably always result in a similar score. But even a not-very-well-thought-out point system might have been better than none.
