How does your game fit the theme?
The player goes through a series of disastrous losses and new opportunities that they must make use of to survive.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes all code. Some assets are from pre-existing assets (credited on the game page, and I understand to be okay from the jam rules).

The game is interesting with its concept and wasteland theme, good gameplay

Took a little figuring out. The look and sound perfectly sold that desolate wasteland vibe. Gameplay was great.

This was a very interesting game. I really liked the pixel art, the only thing was the UI was a bit confusing I didn't get it for the first few minutes. With a bit of polish it could be a really good game!

Really great game! I had lots of fun, one of the most entertaining ones. Love the original concept and the art is so beautiful! At first I didn't understand what all the icons mean, I think there should be more text info, but I quickly figured it out and that was part of the fun too :) Very nice job

Cool glad you could work it out! But yes I do want to add a bit more introduction and guidance.

This is very addictive 😁I enjoyed this game very much.

Developer

Thanks! Glad you like it :)

Absolutely love the artwork. Days seemed to go by way too fast and I really wasn't sure what I was doing - tutorial would have helped, I think.

Developer

Yes based on feedback that's definitely something to review if I work on this further after the jam.

I played this far longer than I should have! really good job of keeping the player engaged I felt, simple but effective. I think the only critique I would have is the resources UI was a bit confusing at first, I didn't really know what was what. but that is just me nitpicking. I loved it. really good job!

Developer(+1)

Haha glad you liked it so much, thanks for the feedback :)

Tbh a lot of people have said the UI was a bit confusing, that would definitely be the thing to work on first if I do an update version after the jam.

I love the look of the dude, you knocked out the atheistic of a harsh world. Really cool framing, life management gameplay. Great work! Keep it up!

Really cool game! I love the concept it reminds me a bit of the between days- "survival minigame" in Papers Please. The gameplay loop was really fun and the art looks great :). My only advice would be that I feel like the days were a bit short. Maybe making them a bit longer would add to the immersion. Other than that great work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Currently, the day takes 2 minutes but when the player runs out of action points the day speeds up and finishes much faster (so you don't have to wait around when you've got nothing to do). I could fairly easily just make it take 3 or 4 minutes and still keep the time waiting for the day to end short.

I did wonder if people would like the option to wander around and explore even after they've run out of actions, but guessed that wouldn't be a problem.

Love the idea! Found it interesting. The pixel art and sound effect really gave me the feel of surviving and hope

Submitted(+1)

Very unique concept and gameplay! I tried so hard to survive but I failed :(

Love the art and the sound effect, it would be nicer if the menu UI matches the art style. Overall a great game!!

Developer

Thank you! Good point on the UI that's something I'll change next time I spend some time on it.

Intresting game! I was a little confused about the game mechanic, but the art style is really nice.

Developer

Thank you :) yes I think adding some more explanations and reminder icons for each action spot would be the next thing to do

Submitted(+1)

you need to add icons to the elements to make it clearer what you get when interacting, and in-game training would be nice.

Developer

Yeah adding icons to each interactable thing is a good idea. Definitely something worth adding if I spend more time on it.

I enjoyed the art and the dialogues. I got your idea of growing plants to survive which is great, but I got confused over some of the design concepts and to be honnest I just spammed seeds in the end.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry it was confusing - would be very helpful if you could say which features didn't make sense.

Did you manage to win the game spamming seeds?

Submitted

I didn't win spamming seeds no but I managed to survive a few days !

What's unclear is the difference of uses between the types of seeds. I think that the UI would require some work in order to instantly grasp the goal of each element on screen. The biggets flaw is how short the days are, since the days are short, the player does not have enough time to get a propper look at every elements and doesnt make itself comfortable within the environment you created.

idk why the night is get too fast but it's ok😅,good jop!

I like the art and the ambience, it has a nice tone to it all. Would have been nice if all the art was pixel. I got a bit confused what did what, so I just kinda gave up. I survived a few day though.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry it was a bit confusing. I think if I'd had a bit more time I'd have done some more tutorial to help explain things.

I like the idea for the game. Good job! And most important: you selected really good sounds for your game. They put something special in it.

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the soundscape.

Took some time to figure out what is what, but it made me wanna beat the game, and I managed to do it! Interesting game!

Developer

Congrats!
