cool game broo...

I rate it...

Here is my game - https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-9/rate/1933204

Fun little game, the art is nice, just had some issues with jumping  - specifically jumps were so quick and high it could be hard to tell where you were going to land.

Nice looking game. The character controller could be improved - jumping, especially. Wasn't clear if I could stomp rats - the character kept jumping on them but was also taking damage.

Nice visuals and the music is top! :)

I guess it would be nice if there's info about what the abilities do. And also, the jumping felt a bit weird - if you move a tiny bit before the jump, it jumps a lot more... or something like that.

I really do like the concept of dying and getting new abilities, but the actual execution of that concept could've been done better in my opinion.

It's weird that the Itch page calls this "Jungle Jam" but the menu says Lost World Adventure. That's a completely different title which might make some think you stole the game from somewhere. Of course I don't think this'd be stolen, but it's still a weird inconsistency.

When it comes to the actual game itself, I felt like the environment could've been a bit more distinct from the actual interactable objects. Maybe a bit of blur would've done good, although this is a pixel art game so that kind of thing might clash with the art style.

The music was good though it looped a little weirdly, pausing for a few seconds and then starting up again.

The game itself confused me. There was no sort of guidance and I had no idea how the special abilities worked and by extension how the game was related to the theme. I think a simple in-game tutorial could easily solve this.

The player felt slow and I figured out that you have to hold shift to run, but that wasn't clarified on the itch page or in the actual game itself.

I also encountered a pretty consistent bug where if you stood on top of an enemy, the player bounced side to side.

Overall, the art style, music and storyline as described on the Itch page were great, however the lack of guidance really bogged this one down for me. I do think that with a bit of polishing and updating, this could be a very good game!

Thanks for the detailed feedback! I'll add running to the description, but the discrepancy between the working and final title will have to wait a few days for the end of the  jam.

Those animations are lovely, and the sound design is lit! I will have that song in my head the rest of the day, and the SFX were great. The art was lovely, and it was a nice amount of challenge. Great Job!

Cool animations, and art need more attention , is hard to distinguish player from environment . I did not know how to use special attacks.

Cool art and animation! The music fits the atmosphere but is too repetitive. I couldn't tell what the special abilities did at all.

Interesting game. The art was pretty good and the music worked. The collision was a bit weird, though. I got stuck between an enemy and the top of a tree. When I tried to get unstuck, I got launched through the floor. It's a good start if you were planning on continuing work on the game post-jam though!

Cool game with a cool concept,  maybe play and rate my game?

Loved the art style, but it was a bit confusing as to what the abilities did.

Nice game, though for feedback I would recommend using tilemaps for a game like this, as it will probably look better. Also I found a bug where the player is constantly red after being damaged.

I found this a bit frustrating. It's unclear as to what the special abilities do and trying to kill the shooting enemies seems impossible but I didn't understand why this was. I think this is a bit too difficult for a gamejam game.

Great character animations and I thought the voice-acting was really cute :D

Great Game!
