Nice entry, some original mechanics, some issues, but really cool visuals and music.

i'd say my 2 main issues were, the level design and enemy placement, as some jumps are quite hard to make, and the enemies placed on some spots where you don't have that much room to fight can get a bit tricky, especially in the areas where you put a bunch aligned vertically  on some cliffs, and since you cant jump through to jump up you gotta manoeuvre around the cliff and then get shot imideately by the guy standing there with little time to react.

That said it's still fun and i like the ideas you had, like that combat system of taking down the enemy's hp with one type of shot and once they are locked down you finish them with the other shot type, tricky to do but once i got the hang of it it was nice.

Overall well done especially since it's solo work :)

Nice Game

Developer

Thank you!

the game is fun and cute, I liked the graphics and a lot of the music, although I think it didn't match the game much, in fact, I found it a little difficult to control the character, the response time was not very accurate, but it's a great game

Developer

Thank you! I was trying a new way to make my codes of jumping, walking, shooting and the way I make tilemaps in this game, this is way it wasn't very responsive... Please, could you tell me what of this was the problem for you? Or it was all of them? hahaha then I can review the code before start a new project :D Thank you so much!

no problems, but the errors were when I walked, he went very fast, and didn't stop exactly when I stopped there was a delay

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I think I already know why this is happening... and I'll fix it in the next project! :D

I really liked the concept, and the art and sounds were also excellent too, loved the art style and the chill vibes.

There's definitely a lot of room for improvement, gameplay-wise, though. The camera is too zoomed out from the player, so it's very tough to dodge bullets and platform. The main mechanic of making enemies into platforms wasn't very used. Also, I feel like the enemy AI was too good? It didn't seem fair for the player at all, especially with the camera being too zoomed out.

Overall still fun, though! I feel like this could go far with some more polish.

Thank you! I'm  used to use the pixel perfect component in the unity to make the sprites keep their relative sizes in relation to the screen, in addition to that I almost aways make games that uses only one screen levels, so when I made the sprites I completely forgot that this game in could have bigger sprites, and would be better if it had hahahah I only saw that when I was with all animations of the main character and the enemy made, and I was like "this is too small, but its to late now to redo all this D: " I totally have to pay more attention on this things in the next project hahahaha.

Thank you :D

The visuals of this game are very good, I really liked the background. The damaging jump platforms were a fun idea, also the fact that you could retrieve some of the missing HP after killing an enemy. I think there is still room for improvement in the movement controls, but that is a good start! The camera following aspect when jumping was a good addition to give some sense of movement to the game.

We'd greatly appreciate if you had time to rate our submission as well :)

Thank you! I'll keep working in the movement mechanics to make them better in the next time. I tried a lot of new things in this project, coyote time, jump cut and I changed the way I make my walking code too, so it's a lot of polish to do next... Thank you for your review :D

A very cute art style and I can tell exactly what things are on the level. The enemy AI is no pushover either! Nice short game!

This game had me nostalgic for the old flash games I played some years ago. Great visuals and chill atmosphere. Sadly, locking enemies to use as platforms isn't used at all in the only level available, even though it was supposed to be one of the main game mechanics.
This could be a nice 2D puzzle platformer with some working on level design and polish.

Developer

Thank you! A 2D puzzle platformer is a great idea! This would help me in the making of the enemies A.I., making them more predictable and even more simple than the one I used... I think hahahaha.....

With easy gameplay, cute animations, and a groove OST, Gun locker is a prototype with a lot of potential to be a very cute and cool platform. Unfortunately, there is no SFX to contribute to the experience. making the game a little more shallow :(

The mechanic of locking the enemies to make them platforms is not well explained in the game and not well explored to be an interesting mechanic.

I hope to see a more developed version of this game in the future!

Thank you! I thought about the locking mechanic early in the development, but after spend most time of the jam polishing the platform elements and making the animations, I was like "well this mechanic is the only 'confined' thing I have here, I can't throw it away now, let's see what I can do with it... " hahahaha but I will use this idea in the future, as you said, if I explore it with a better level design I think it can be a good mechanic :D
