The parrying mechanic is really fun. It's always enjoyable to knock an enemy's attack right back at them. Loved the sprite work too. Like others have said, some background music would have added a lot to the feel of the game.
The art and aesthetics for this is great. Jumping through rails was pretty fun, nice submission!
Really cool reminds me of a platformer type version of bringing a sword to a bullet hell. The graphics are really clean and has easy controls. Great Work!
i think music would be cool, and you could make so that instead of removing box collider from your player when he is dashing activate a bool that needs checking before taking damage, so you can't go off bound, but ye overall good game
Thanks for checking out the game! Funnily enough, I didn't actually use a collider to stop you from going out of bounds because I thought hitting a wall would've felt weird, haha.
That's a super interesting take on a side-scroller bullet-hell. I liked it a lot and it felt like you took a lot of care in adjusting the difficulty to fit the format well. I also think that thee was good feedback on all hits/reflections. Very satisfying. Great work!
the game is totally incredible, its mechanics and invocation, the theme is very fun too, the sad thing is that, without background music, it doesn't give much emotion, but apart from that it's perfect
Real cool game! The visuals and mechanics are real nice and fun to play! The one thing I think could change is that the dash could happen even if the player isn't holding a move input, this way I think it could be a little more responsive. Overall a real great game :D
Wow, this is really nice! Parrying bullets felt very satisfying, and the dodging is fun as well. I think some actiony music would've taken the game to the next level. Very good submission overall!
If you would take the time to check out my submission, I would really appreciate it!
Thanks! I had some action-y music from another game on while testing and I agree, it definitely deserves some! Couldn't find/make any before the deadline though, sadly.
Fun little game to play! Really enjoyed the art/animations, especially the small attention to detail like the weapons tracking where the player is located. The sounds also fit the game/art style well but wish there were some music. I struggled quite a bit with dodging but was still a fun challenge!
Beautiful sprites, very cool idea! I agree with the idea that the gap should be wider, and maybe it would be a good idea if all bullets could be deflected (but with a cooldown or a harder window to parry?)
Anyways pretty fun game! I managed to cheese the level part by dashing offscreen haha (just go to the edge of the screen and dash to the right). That doesn't work with the boss though, so I had to fight it normally.
This is awesome! Very tough, but I love all of the mechanics in place. More of a gap between rails and a slight delay on when the enemies arrive and when they shoot would give you a chance to strategize a bit more. I love this though, I wanna see more!
Thanks! I had a bit of trouble actually figuring out the rail gap, since if I made it too wide the UI would cover stuff up. I'll be sure to keep this in mind if I do a sequel/extended version!
yea man, aside from that, it was excellent!
Nice game! I felt the combat was pretty fluid, the reflect mechanic was fun to use and the art looks great. If I would change something, I would give more space to the player to have more room to dodge.
just amazing!
This is a very good looking game, I like the originality to confine the characters into 5 rails and the parry mechanic.
But the parry is a little bit difficult to use because of the long wait between two attacks. The audio is a little bit sad 'cause there is no music.
In globallity the game is very good and fun to play, he offers a "How to play" menu and that is very comfortable. The difficulty will progress in the time and the gameplay is simple and pleasant.
I like this game and the parry part is a little hard to me at first, but after getting used to it it feels great to get the bullet back and hit the enemies!
Super good looking game! The artwork is it's biggest upside, the sprites and their animations look very polished, and the characters fit well into the background. Lightning elements also work very well in this game. The idea of the gameplay mechanics are nice, but for some reason I couldn't quite get into it. The sword slashing felt a bit difficult, as it seems to have some kind of a cooldown. The dashing also needs some practicing to be useful.
The game also needs a banger soundtrack! I can almost hear it in my head already! :)
I really like the concept, and it's quite a nice take on the theme to have confined the player movement to the different rails.
Gameplay wise the controls and all feel nice, but i think there are still a few issues, most notable the slash attack where i found it hard to judge the slash rate as it didn't feel like it was synched with the animation, and the dash being foward only can be tricky when getting flung into other bullets while trying to dodge oncoming ones.
Now that said, the game is fun, and i really like the spritework, the main character with his sword looks cool as hell :D not to mention the ship boss with the sprayed painted skull !
Overall nice entry with an original concept.
Good job ^^
Nice graphics. I like the idea of countering the bullets.. the dash didn't feel that good though. does it only work forwards?
Thanks for trying out the game! The dash actually works in both directions if you press both the arrow key and the dash button at the same time, it's just a little unintuitive, should've made it slightly clearer, sorry!
