Very solid and polished gameplay loop, with well balanced difficulty. Music was fitting and I really loved the artistic vision on this! If you feel like developing it further, I think that the hitbox for the bullets that let you advance to the next level could be a bit bigger! Overall, a fantastic entry!

A fun small game, well worth the try! Had some nice mechanics, like the surveillance cameras/turrets with their bouncing bullets, and the moving platforms. The FOV application was also cool, and fit the atmosphere of this game really well. For me the SFXs were a bit too loud and harsh, but that's just a personal opinion. Well done!
This was definitely one of the most polished and creative submissions so far! The feel of a classic pixel art game, thematically fitting sound effects and visuals and a simple yet addicting gameplay loop. Loved it! Nothing bad to say about this, really :D Maybe some background music!

Very unique and cool ideas in this! Going inside the bullets and bosses was something I'd never thought of, and is a completely new thing for me, so cudos for that! Controls were nice, and UI fading away when overlapping with player was a nice QOL addition. The weakening laser charged a bit slowly in my opinion, so maybe it could be made faster. Otherwise than that, very very nice!
Also we'd be super happy if you checked out our submission as well! :)
Quite polished look for a game made in such a short time! Everything regarding gameplay felt really solid and the game had nice amount of juice. The area where the game was a bit lacking was originality, I think it would be nice if it had some kind of unique and interesting mechanic. Other than that, very high quality submission! :)

The goal of the game and some of it's gameplay ideas felt a bit confusing to me, but the controls felt nice and the overall look of the game was satisfying. Making the goal of the game somewhat clearer would lift this game to a whole new level! Overall, an interesting prototype!

Nice sprites, nicely working controls and overall, very polished and solid entry! The dash mechanic, being a regenerating one, worked nicely here. First I felt that it wasn't great that you could still take damage when dashing, but when I got used to the idea, it was actually quite nice. The confined thing was maybe a bit too confining, at least for me. Maybe if first the circle was quite small (like how it is now), but upon taking damage, the ring would grow larger, so it would become easier to play. That way taking damage wouldn't always be a bad thing and you could make longer runs, making the player feel amazing, surviving with only one HP for so long. Just an idea, though! Overall, I really liked this, would be cool to see where this goes if you continue to develop it.

You got many things right in this one! The use of confined-theme works well, but is not too overwhelming and the bullet patterns and the overall feel remind me of Touhou, which is a good thing! Also, the first boss throwing pizza absolutely gets extra points from me xD The fact that many times as boss moved, it was difficult to continue shooting it, so that is maybe one place where the game could be improved. But overall, very succesful entry!

Simple and cool! Everything worked well, I enjoyed the bullet patterns, especially on the third variation of enemies (the circling bullets), it was really hard to dodge, but still fair! Controls felt solid, and the cooldown and functionality of the dash felt just right, which is not easy to nail. Also, each life being represented by a different colored character was a nice addition. The death sound was maybe a bit too loud compared to other SFXs and the music, but that's just nitpicking. Great work!

A fun little game! I could easily see myself playing this on a phone while on a break from work! The gameplay loop is easy to get into, and the controls work well. For me the SFXs were maybe a bit harsh, but maybe my volume was just too high. Overall, a nice prototype of a fun break activity game!

Really nice and creative take on the theme! It was easy to get into the gameplay loop, but difficult to master! As it should be. I also enjoyed the music and the devilish laugh when you died! The look of the boss was also cool. If I'd change something, maybe it would be nice to have a bit more consistent look on the game, especially the bullets felt like some rainbow particles flying around :D but that's only a minor thing!

Fantastic! The graphics are amazing, really love the old school look, music fits the theme very well and SFXs were quite nice too. Controls feel vivid and alive, there is a real sense of speed here. One of my definite favourites from all the games I've tried. One slight negative note though: for me it felt that the camera is a bit too high from the player, if it was lower and more behind, the view would be better and enemies could be seen more easily. Oh, and also I loved the smoke trail effects and the explosions! Super cool!

Visuals were very well made, and the music was one of the best I've come across in this jam! UI was very professional looking, the tip bar was a good way to teach player about the game. Sound effects were a bit laggy at times, and my bad computer had some problems running the game when the circle spawning dude arrived :D The basic gameplay loop felt that it maybe needs some polishing and balancing, the game started super easy and then I just insta-died when the circle dude I mentioned appeared. But overall, a very good looking entry that has many pieces in the right slots, well done!

Fun game with a proper amount of craziness! The difficulty felt just right, controls were nice, and I loved the mad laughter of the boss and the fitting music playing in the background! Also showing the amount of HP you have through the color of the player sprite was a good choice. A fun little game, cheers!

Controls and visuals were nice in this one, the music also fit the theme of the game well. I would have hoped for a high score system or something to see how well I did compared to my other runs. Also the hitbox felt somewhat big, and it would have been nice to have some kind of audio cue or visual feedback of when the dash has came available again. Also some random elements in the patterns would take the game to a next level, since at least for me it seemed that the patterns came always in the same order. I did like the look of the boss very much, it oozing around and all, so cudos for that!

Really distinct style you have here, I loved it! Fun to see something completely different from many other submissions. Took me a while to understand the controls and the objective of the game, but I got it eventually. Main menu was also created very creatively. Visual style and SFX along with the music looked and sounded very professional. A high quality submission, bravo!

Huge thanks for the detailed comments! This kind of feedback really helps our development a lot! :)
- for the movement speed, we do have some ideas for passive items that you could get to upgrade certain stats, like speed of the ship and damage of the weapons
- we've gotten many comments about the hitbox, and will definitely look into it, making it smaller so it fits the bullet hell genre a bit better
- the XP loss mechanic requires some balancing, and is as well on our list
- HP recovery has also come up in the comments rather frequently, and for that we have some ideas already, like maybe a shop that you could purchase HP from between stages, or a passive that would give you health regeneration upon killing X amount of enemies or over time
- the boss thing is true, there we don't have anything thought out yet, maybe if the initial enemy stage was longer, or the XP gain was higher, the player would have time to build up a larger weaponry and have room for long range weapons as well, or maybe there should be some i-frames before the boss stage actually begins
- the weapon balancing is also a work in progress, laser hose is rather weak compared to the missile barrage, and the chance of it actually showing up needs to be looked into as well
For me this is a clear winner participant! The gameplay loop is addicting and well thought out, visuals are polished and everything is very clear for the player. The option to choose whether to continue from current point or start over in case of losing was a good addition as well. Lots of simple yet creative mechanic and gameplay choices, which make this a really fun game to play. I think that you should definitely keep developing the idea! If I had to say something negative, it would be the enemy SFXs, which are a bit annoying at times, especially the bouncing bullets :D But that's a small thing!

Cute and well made sprites, SFX and music that fit the theme, and easy to use and precise controls, very nice! The gameplay loop felt a bit lacking for me, though, maybe there could be some additional objectives in the game to make it a bit more interesting, like collecting some orbs to do special attacks or something! But overall, a cool litte game that has a promising foundation! :)

The gameplay loop worked in this game very well, the idea of weapons changing automatically worked nicely, and the variety was good. My favourite was the shovel (a bit like the shovel in Nuclear Throne, which is cool), it felt so good to smash groups of enemies with it! That being said, this game has a nice amount of juice in the player side of things, but I felt that enemies lacked some feel, maybe some SFX for enemy shooting would do the trick. I also never noticed where the health bar was, maybe I'm just blind or it was a bit difficult to see. Overall, a very fun and well constructed submission! :)

Took me some time to get to this submission, but I'm glad I did! Very polished entry with crisp and precise controls, proper game feel, scary monsters and nice sprites (pun intended xD). Music was spot on, action felt very action-y, and the idea of upgrades having a downside was interesting. Seeing so many games with a small area to play in (that in many cases shrinks as well), it feels a bit old already and restricts the player movement a bit too much in my opinion. A good fix for this would be that maybe in the beginning the area size would be full screen, and would slowly shrink as time goes by, so you'd have to kill enemies as fast as possible. Just a thought, though. Overall, I had a blast and this was very fun!

Music on this entry was epic! The artstyle is also fun. Controls, other than camera movement worked also well. I felt that the first fight scene fell a bit short though, the arena was rather small and the action lacked some game feel. But the theme and idea behind this was superb, so I think that with some polishing this would be very good!

Really polished and well made entry. Controls worked great, visuals and sounds worked well together and the sprite for the boss was epic! Super high quality production!
Some improvement ideas:
- the hitbox for the player seemed a bit large, maybe tune that down a bit?
- the shooting sound for the spider felt a bit lacking
- it is very difficult from the start, the feeling of progression would be greater if it started a bit easier and progressed to being more difficult
These are of course small thing, so overall, fantastic job!
We'd also greatly appreciate if you had time to check out our submission! :)
Fun idea to fuse a dating sim and a bullet hell together! I haven't played Undertale yet, but it still reminds me of it. The basic mechanics work very well, and the anxiety square was a fantastic idea. I felt that the story dragged a bit, but I wouldn't consider myself as a target customer for this kinda game, so take my comment on that with a grain of salt. The idea of healing and damaging bullets was cool, I was hoping to see more different patterns! Very creative and interesting submission overall.
Would appreciate a lof if you had time to check out our game as well :)
Cool stuff! At first I thought, that there is way too much keys to press, but the system actually worked quite well. The visual effects were nice and fit the style of the game. I found it a bit difficult to get into though, maybe because the screen is filled with effects and stuff from the very beginning. Maybe it could be a bit easier in the beginning, and ramp up in difficulty little by little? Also the camera is positioned in a way that when you stand in the bottom side of the arena, the wall blocks sight to the character. But overall, a nice idea that could be developed into something really cool!
