Impressive game, very fun to run around dodging and collecting, despite the apparent repetitiveness I still felt compelled to finish it, though my little squirrel starved, poor dude. I also laughed way too hard at the tutorial, that is one wall of text. I would have liked a upgrade where the range of getting nuts increases. Overall incredible work!
This game is so fantastic. For only having ten days there is so much content and lots of thought put into this. The art style is so adorable and I love all the possibilities for strategizing available. Wonderful job!
6 endings in a 10 day jam game????? This is nuts
I've enjoyed it - lots of room for strategizing, until the last minute of play I've been discovering new optimizations for nut collection. Slight degree of exploration, too - I always like to buy passive items with interesting effects in games.
The enemy patterns are simple and easy to control, but since you have two other factors - time and nut collection - it becomes a lot more involved than to just dodge things. It adds extra depth to gameplay, which is great.The tutorial is... um... It's not terrible but it really just made me click out of it and find everything about the game on my own. Do you really need it? Why not just give hints during day 1-2 as to what the player should be doing?
Now, I think the main flaw of the game so far is the pacing. 10 relatively long days, and other than gradually increasing ent counts nothing is really happening. All ent types are introduced from day 1, and... that's it, every day is more or less the same as the previous. I think currently the length could be safely cut to just 7 days without anything of value being lost.
In addition, it would be great if the game gradually introduced some new ent types (e.g. a hollow ent which moves and attacks faster, thus easier to kite, but drops fewer nuts), as well as points of interest (e.g. treasure chests with nuts or other items if they were to be added. There could also be some kind of contraption that you'd have to bring the expensive metal nuts to)
Other than that - solid foundation with a great theme implementation. While it did feel like it overstayed its welcome, I had a good time until then. Congrats on finishing the jam!

You can probably tell the tutorial was a little rushed lol. I wanted to implement it better, but ran out of time since I was the only one doing art and coding.

I really enjoyed this game! Here is everything I liked! The concept of ents and squirrel. Getting a place to hide and be safe. The market system. The planting system. This was such a good experience, thank you for making this game!
Okey so i played it....and it's awsome. I really like the style of the game, animations, visuals also effects and music it was great experience.
You even made shop in this time. I had fun playing this, squirrel as main character? +10 :D
Maybe as some constructive feedback: camera should follow top/down a bit faster? It's just my opinion but i really think the game is nice. Super good job!

HIBERNATION (Ending 1/6)
The game is fun. The squirrel animation is amazing and I love the music. The gameplay loop works well, I like that you can push your luck by planting more ents and going for the path between many ents to collect nuts as well, going crazy definitely rarely pays off and you often get to wish you went with a more cautious day.
I got plenty of crashes when pressing the button to leave the shop. I haven't take a screenshot of the error, sorry for that. Maybe you should investigate, as if there's a way to avoid it then you could mention it.
I think 10 days is a bit long, but maybe if I hadn't to restart several times because of the crashes then I would not say that ;) .

Darn, sorry about the crashes, I had one other person experience them during play testing and for the life of me I haven't been able to replicate the error. thanks for playing through it though, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Huh, thanks for getting the error message, I'll see if I can fix it (line -1 does not make it easy lol). So it's happening when you leave? Is there a text bubble up at the time or did you just buy an item maybe?
Just a warning, the other 4 endings are a lot more difficult, lmk if you need any help figuring them out
As they're so many other games to play I'm not really looking for the other endings, I got this one while looking for the bug.
Buying an item is unnecessary.
However a link with a text bubble is something I was wondering as well and then when trying to get the bug again I definitely always passed above the items, that's really possible.

Visuals are nice, audio is nice, but I don't get the purpose of the game. I should survive or sth? Bad trees are good for me because they drop acorns for me. Idk, gameplay is meh, I didn't have fun of playing it. Too little bullets, its game jam about bullet hell!
The goal is to collect enough acorns for the winter, if you plant more ents, it definitely becomes more of a bullet hell but also makes it easier to collect nuts, thanks for the feed back though
