Love visuals and the gameplay was engaging overall too with the interesting dating thythm genre! Gave you a nice rating! If you like to check out our game too! :)

This is a cool game! I like the rhythm elements esp. on the first date, syncs up to the music really well and the red heart is a nice touch especially. Had trouble dodging some of the projectiles, the red and blue circles in the first level when they intersect were impossible for me and also the sun in the second level (skill issues lol). I can pass the first level still, since the other parts are alright, but on the second level I keep running out of lives to the sun. The raindrops tend to shave off a few lives too since the player speed is a bit fast and they're really bunched up together. Dating sim part isn't really my speed (and I'm really glad the skip feature exists so you don't have to do it every time!), but the joke about speaking Cat wrong is funny. I'm assuming there are no dates after the second since I can't skip to any other levels...? Did he get the girl or not....? Hope it didn't end too disastrously lmao.

Developer(+1)

Sadly, of the 3 planned dates (each with a VN segment and an ACTION segment) I only had time to implement the first one, as well as the action part of the second. Scenarios for them are finished though, I'll get to implementing it all properly someday.

Thank you for playing and the helpful feedback!

Would absolutely love to play this extra original entry, but can not get it to run :( (dll missing on a fresh win10 install)

Submitted

Also for usability: it doesn't install through itch io app; the txt is picked up instead, this is a must for usability if no web version is present.

Very original idea and polished entry, lots of bullet hell, I hope you push it further :)

Patterns are really intricate to navigate even on standard difficulty, default player speed is a bit too fast IMHO.

Developer

Thanks for the heads up, I've added the "for windows" label so it should be installable with itch.io app now. Thank you for playing and the feedback!

The Unmatched Power Of The Sun.
Ridiculous levels of quality, great job!
Works on Linux using Proton GE.

Developer

Praise the Sun ☀️
Glad it worked on Linux, very valuable to know. Thanks a lot!

Very creative, the writing on the VN portion was nice and the presentation of the bullet hell sections, especially the bullets smoothness was a delight. A personal note is that I really like the VN backgrounds, looks like a mix of early 2000's to early 2010's VNs, where one had really blurry real life backgrounds, and the other had so polished drawings that they looked like pictures. Only complaint was a bug where I skipped the second date by pressing the bomb in the first stage, the text appeared in the middle of the action.
Incredible work nonetheless!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the bug report - both the bombs and level skips were last minute additions, so I forgot to account for bomb usage on the first date. Sorry about that. Thank you for playing and the kind words!

Really good bullet patterns with music. The idea was very creative and make unique experience. Good job, great submission!

I was not expecting to be playing  dating sim in this jam, but you honestly did such a great job. It's a unique take on the idea of consequences and the bullet hell section was so well executed. great job!

What a well polished game!! Thank you for sharing! , the beats lined up really well with the enemies(dots) , i was bobbing my head while playing! great fun

Such a seamless blend of story, visuals, audio, and gameplay mechanics. The unexpected rhythm game combined with the challenging bullet hell gameplay had me grinning. I really appreciated the way the story affects the gameplay in a meaningful way and I loved the unique patterns. Huge win in my book. Great job!

Really creative entry. I was not expecting a visual novel and I love it! That Au joke is the perfect blend of cleverness and cringe. The bullet-hell part is also pretty good. I enjoyed the pattern designs

Loved the visuals and the music! The gameplay was quite smooth plus the neat patterns! Very fun game, could play it all day

I really liked the bullet patterns ,especially with how it all syncs with the music (which is also very good by the way!)
i went for "veteran" and just barely won with 1 life left (the sun burned me -.-)

Great work, Agent o7 (and keep in mind that sunscreen is not covered by your insurance)

I'm not visual novel guy, so after some dialogs I skipped them and went into action (I appreciate that such option exists). I love the action part, music and visuals are great, it work so well. I also love the consequences of your choices during dialogs in the novel part. Theme was captured very well. Gamplay is cool. Just masterpiece.

Mixing a visual novel and a bullet hell is a great idea and works so fine

"End of the Jam Version" I played in Newbie mode and needed two tries.

I can't say I'm fan of there being a dating part but based on your game from last year I had to try the game anyway because I knew the bullet part was going to be great and I was not disappointed, it is great. The music is super nice too.

They're not slow but I think you could add a way to advance through dialogs even faster (as fast as you press a button) for when you're replaying a sequence.

Thanks for sharing.

Developer

Right now you can hold the Cancel button (X on keyboard, B on gamepad by default) for 2 seconds on any level to skip to the next action one, though you won't get to make any choices as a consequence (lol). Good feedback though. Thank you for playing!

Awesome bullet patterns! I loved that bullets dance with music.

and I also like the idea combining VN and bullet hell.

I'd like to see more!

Developer

Anyone can dodge rain these days, but can they dodge the SUN? :p
Thank you for playing!
