oh, I thought of another. When the player answers incorrectly, the screen says “you lost”. This felt a little negative and unrewarding. I was doing really well, my score was over 30 before I got one wrong. I felt like I did a good job but then I was greater with a negative response. Perhaps a message like “Opps, Game Over. Your score is 30”. Or even better, have the messaging be based on score. If the user scores under 10: “You can do better, try again”. If score is between 11-20: “Not bad”. Above 20: “Wow, great job”. And so on.

Developer

Thanks again! That's true. Let's keep it positive^^

Very simple game concept. I like when things are simple. After a few plays I started getting more familiar with the characters, which made it easier to answer the questions. If each play had other characters it would make me have to study them more. Perhaps different variations of the same characters could be shown. So it would really force you to study them during each question if they were subtle differences from the last time you played. I few times I got the same question three times in a row, which tells me that you are randomly pulling questions. One method I like to use is to first randomly sort my array of items, then as they are being used I remove them from the array. This guarantees that the same question doesn't show twice. Then one new game, you reset the array and randomly sort it again.

I think you have a great concept here and I hop e you continue to add to it. Hit me up if you do decide to continue and I'd be happy to check it out.

Nice work!

Developer

Thank you for that! Yes, i think you're right. There are 60 statements, so it's quite often that you get the same question. Your method with the array should work, thanks for the great advice!

Really like this game. Simple but surprisingly fun, and got more challenging as time went down! I hope you can add more levels with more illustrations to add variety later! Well done! :)

Developer(+1)

Yes i will do! Thank you so much for your kind words :)

At first I did not expect it to be so much fun, but having the speed increasing at every right answer makes it more and more challenging, and the result is great.

Although simple it is well polished, there are no bugs nor glithces so well done!

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words! Thats so motivating! :)

Wow a good game formed a simple idea, perfect! If you were to update the game I would add a leader board or some way to compete. Honestly, if you did that I think it would be ready to go on the app store. Good job!

Developer

Oh wow, thank you! I´ve never thought about that, but it´s a good idea! :)

Hey not bad for your first jam! I liked the concept of a timed "where's waldo" of sorts haha good job!

Developer

Thank you! :)

Submitted

I liked the theme. That timer made it stressful. I was disappointed for the lack of music or sound. I hope you expand.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I've created a music. Should be started normally in the game scene. Could it be that your volume was to low? :)

Submitted(+1)

Interesting Way to use the theme! I liked how the art was presented and how the timer encourages you to make an answer fast during game. Great job!

Developer

Thanks! I really appreciate that. :)

Wow the game is really cool, congratulations, super simple game but has a innovative concept :D

Developer

Thank you my friend. Glad you like it :))

This is the most different game that I have played and it was pretty fun too!  I liked how you incorporated the game is a liar theme, and it was what made the game fun.  I believe there are very few games that were able to make a fun game with the liar theme, but you achieved it! Awesome job!  I hope you'll check our game out as well!  https://itch.io/jam/cgj/rate/476728

Thank you! Im so happy about your feedback :)

I will play your game soon!

Nice concept and good looking art. At the end is very hard but playable. Good job and when you have time, please consider playing mine as well.

Developer

Thank you! Yes i will do!

It's fun but some sentences are hard to understand in so little time. The concept is interesting, it's like reversed where is Waldo.

The art is weird but appropriate for this kind of game.

The music is a bit too simple, a game like this needs a a catchy chiptune song.

Nice work though!

Developer

Yes, i think you are right! Thank you for the feedback :)

Soooo good game, you can draw two or three more characters and lunch the game on mobiles.

"I am married with Tom" My brain: I suppose woman to be married with Tom, but i need to check it twice. Look at fingers. She has ring while he hasn't. Answer. Lose.

Developer(+1)

Haha. Exact that was the plan😉. Glad you like it! Appreciate your feedback, wow thanks! Of course more characters would be more fun. So if i have time i will do that!

Thank you :)

This is overall a simple and pretty fun little game. The graphics and music is fine. Overall and okay jam game.

Submitted(+1)

Solid game. Very easy concept. Took me a few tries to wrap my head around the statements first, but then I managed to get to a score of 30. At that point it was just too fast when a new statement showed up :D

Normally, I try to give some advice on how the game can be improved, but you did a good job with just these two scenes. The only thing which I can think of, would be having more levels. So you start out with the couple you have now and you have to get to a score of something like 20 and then a new couple shows up. But I understand that you had limited time like everybody else.

Developer

Thank you! Yes of course there are missing things like more scenes, smooth transitions, animations (ex. correct/false) and so on. Thank you for your valuable feedback. Appreciate that :)

Submitted(+1)

True, i completely forget about animations.

Another idea that came to my mind, some sort of point system, so the faster you click on the correct character the more points you get.

If you have time I would love to get some valuable feedback for our game ;)

Submitted(+1)

The characters are very funny and I loved the game idea :) It would be awesome to have added some sense of progression. Cheers!

Developer

You are right! Thank you for the feedback :)
