Interesting concept. I got the suspect right first try. I could see this being expanded into a full game with branching stories and characters. Good job!

Developer

Thank you, I will maybe make it into a full game some time in the future :)

Played and rated! I really like the game it's very interesting. I found the killer the third time I played :)

It would be great if you could play and rate mine as well: https://itch.io/jam/cgj/rate/476263

Developer

Thanks a lot, glad to hear you took the time to play it again in order to figure out who the killer was ^^

Played and rated, amazing detective game!

I took all my time to try and figure out the murderer, but I wasn't able to guess!
**Contains spoiler** -> I was so sure it was between 2 choices, either S or L from everything that was said but wasn't expecting that ending :o

Had a great time playing and trying to figure out the real suspect!
The graphics look good, the sound effects nicely fitting, the text speed was great, the transcript was a great idea to be able to revisit everything at the same time (but could be improved by being separated with a title for each character), and the story was very well thought of and put together.

I don't really have any negative points. Except some polish like adding music, I find the game very well done and complete as it is. Great work for this game jam!

I'd appreciate if you try and rate my game as well!

Thank you a lot for such detailed feedback, I really appreciate the time you took to write it down!

You were pretty close to guess who the killer was, it's mainly a matter of choices you make that will help you to find who the killer was.

Polishing is indeed something that needs a lot of time, as for the music I'm not good at composing so I tried to make only a very quick one you can hear at the begining and before shooting, but that's all I managed to make. ^^'

Nice game. The story is cool and well made. I'm really bad in this games so I killed an innocent, I thought I was right after hearing all the suspects but I must have missed something.

Tha graphics are cool, the sound fx are good too.

Nice entry!

It would be great if you'd check out our game too https://itch.io/jam/cgj/rate/477069

Developer

Thank you for trying my game! You must have missed something indeed, maybe it's related to some choice you made at some point ;)

I really loved the premise, but the story was a bit too predictable. The overall aesthetic was really nice, kinda reminded me of Papers Please.

Check out the game I worked on: https://itch.io/jam/cgj/rate/473783

Developer

Thank you! I know, I'm not a good story writter by any mean, so I tend to not go too over the top with those x)

I did wanted to recreate Papers Please aesthetic on the characters, so I'm glad people got that ^^

I love the concept. Will be waiting for expansion of the game.😋

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! I may expand on the game indeed, I do have some ideas to try with it if I manage to free enough time ^^

Rated - Really well made, I can tell a lot of effort went into this game!  I like the text sound effect, and all the sprite art is great.  I just finished watching Mind Hunter on Netflix, this reminded me of it haha.  Awesome job!  Please check out my game when you can.

Good day!

Hi! Thanks for your feedback, actually I already checked out your game, and I left you a comment last week, it's on your first page of comments ahah ^^

Loved playing the game. Reminded me of a couple of games. Papers please, LA Noire. Loved the art style and sound FX especially that paper sound.

Just a small thing that bugged me was I played this game "Dirty". I played honestly in the first try and I thought I had the right person caught, but I was wrong so then I tried shooting everyone turn after turn and eventually got the right suspect. I suggest you put a condition that no one can be shot before being questioned, that's just my opinion. All in all I loved the game so much. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback, it's much appreciated! I'll keep in mind the idea to prevent the player from shooting right away if I ever make a bigger game out of this jam game. Anyway I'm glad to hear you liked it, thanks again :)

A very well made and interesting story. I like both the music and the graphics. With the theme in mind, I would have thought there have been more lies in there statements.  Overall a good jam game. Well done.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback! I didn't want them to lie at every sentences, or else I think it would have made it a bit easy. What I hoped to achieve was to make the player trying to figure out what were lies and what was the truth ^^

Very interesting story and idea. I enjoyed playing it, Good job!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, means a lot to me :)

This is a really good game. I really enjoyed the game. Found the murderer eventually. I really felt like being a detective, remembering who said what, it was really fun. The artwork was on the point. The game play was smooth. The subtle sounds for each indiviual when talking was smart, it actually gave them a bit more of characteristics. Overall a really well made game.

I really love this type of games.

I think I broke it at some point though. because I tried to summon a suspicious and use the gun but I forgot the instructional dialogue at the beginning. So I lost the gun and had to refresh the page.

I think I missed something in the game because I can't find a relation with the title "The camera cannot lie".

I really like the art style. the game reminded me of Papers Please.

Great job!

Developer(+1)

Yes, you can make the gun disapear if you're too fast, however it's only a visual glitch: the gun is still here and if you click on it agin and click out, it'll appear back.

For the game's title, it is a quote that inspired me to do the game, I originally planned on adding a camera footage of the murder as an introduction but I didn't have the time to finish it.

hey... who did it?

Developer

Made it solo

I mean who kill :P

Developer

Oh, right! It's one of the four, I won't spoil it though, you can get the information if you make the right dialogue choices, cheers ;)

I love the game's visuals. The story is very interesting, we really want to know who the murderer is. One of my favorite games for now. Well done =D

Developer

Thank you for testing out my game and your feedback! It's very appreciated :)

Great game! I had fun investigating!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! ^^

Short and sweet!  The graphics remind me of Papers Please.  Great job!

Developer

Thank you, I indeed thought the Papers Please aesthetic would look good on my characters, so I went into recreating the 3 tones skin color + 2 tones complemetary color for the clothes. Thanks again :)
