Very Much enjoyable game, good balance between progression and increasing difficulty with more unlocks and level design. Really think this has both puzzle and good level design aspect to it that showcase they were hared worked upon. Solid 4.5
It looks casual and simple but it's only a cover! In reality as a programmer I think it was really hard to implement! My personal respect to devs: mechanic works, they are different and no bags! Like an art and gameplay very much. Really nice job! One of my favorites in this game jam ! 10/5
Thank you for the kind feedback!
A really fun and "casual" game in quotes because it has its degree of difficulty, the art is simply fantastic, I would say it is the best it has. Theme usage is fine and working properly.
Thanks for the review!
Loved this game, really fun. The art was solid and the music was perfect. The story is good and this is a fun and cool use of the theme. Good job!
Thank you!
loved flinging yourself with the mouse, the airdash makes it more fun, the timeslow really didnt use it,the glowsticks were helpful, not too much complaint with this one its great👍
Thank you!
Amazing game! This is the best submission I've played so far.
Fundamentally, the game is just fun. It's fun to explore the level by throwing yourself around. It's fun to throw glowsticks around. The physics engine works.
Why do you have to press E to light a candle? Why not just light it when you get there automatically?
Thank you!
Very fun game, title screen looks great as well! My main criticism would be that the level quantity is a bit higher than what the mechanics have to offer. What I mean is that there are a few too many levels that are very similar to each other and don't offer anything unique and feel a bit filler. For me the gameplay was very solid though
Thank you!
i really like the mechanics, slinging around a lil guy is never fun! tbh i dont have alot of bad things to say in this game, its just all around a great time!, but i kinda didnt use the low motion alot, overall GREAT GAME!!!
Thank you!
I really enjoyed the game overall, especially the use of the glowstick. Some mechanics are quite familiar, but the glowstick felt fresh and fits the theme perfectly.
If I were to point out something for improvement, haha, I’d say it feels like the game is aiming for a Super Meat Boy vibe, where the challenge of the levels is key to making progression feel rewarding and exciting – like a payoff after failing so many times. However, to be honest, I didn’t find the game very challenging.
I think this is due to the abundance of mechanics that make things easier for the player, like the glowsticks, the dash, slow motion, and the air dash. With all these tools, mistakes feel barely punishing, and it’s easy to recover even when something goes wrong.
That said, I loved the mechanics and the game overall. Congratulations on a great job! 🎮👏
I appreicate the kind and constructive feedback, I totally understand what you mean and to be honest I had to reduce the difficulty several time just caues I thought it would be too hard for the player to beat.
Since it was for a jam I decided to make the game easier rather than too hard, but yea If I keep working on this game I'd introduce more level sets with increased difficulty and higher skill requirement.
I am glad that you decreased the difficulty, because Jam games need to be more forgiving to cater to different skillset player playing it. its better to be able to explore all mechanics that you have offered in game rather then being stuck on first few levels due to not being a skillful gamer.
This is the lesson i learned from this game jam
excelent, i like it, the mechaics works great for this kind of platformer and the lights effects and pixel art is super cool too!
Thank you!
