How does the game fit into the theme?
In "From Whence It Came...", a biologically engineered creature must escape the deepest recesses of a secret government lab. However, he only has 5 minutes to traverse this labyrinth, so EVERY SECOND COUNTS. Plus, the radioactive atmosphere of the laboratory does continuous damage when standing still, forcing you to KEEP MOVING FORWARD! Will you help the poor creature return to whence it came?

I really love the concept, and loved the art.
Love the concept. Being the alien escaping from the lab is a fun take on it. The map seemed very cool and thought out, but I did get stuck on where to go next, as it felt like my jumps and dash were not enough. Love the game! Keep it up!

Challenging but fun, good job!
A very memorable game character, an interesting setting, in the spirit of retro games
I loved the creature's design, it has an eerie feeling to it. I think I got rather far but ended up falling on one of the jumps. The game has an interesting maze - and it took me some time to figure out the controls (the double jump + dash mechanic), but once I did, the game started feeling like those precision platformers but with the added rule to keep moving no matter what, which is pretty cool.
Another feedback I can give is regarding the enemies: adding an "invulnerable" period where you can regain movement or knocking you back further could prevent enemies from stunlocking you into death, which happened to me a few times. That aside, the concept is solid! Good job you two!
Thanks for the feedback! :)
Beautiful art and interesting theme for keep moving forward! The fact that this was made in a week is incredible and I hope you both are proud of your work! Great job! :)
Thanks so much for playing and for your kind feedback! :) Happy jamming! ♪
Interessting theme. Clean visuals. Would love to have a better ingame explenation of what to do, but it is a pretty nice game!
I won't repeat what others have already mentioned, however, it is still a good attempt and I can see what you were going for. The art is very clean and consistent. Cool take on the theme to deplete players health if they stand still, forcing them to keep moving forward!
Interesting theme implementation, keeps you in tension, but not too much at the same time.
There was a bug for me, that after I died I had to restart the game, because couldn't confirm any options picked on death screen. Also game could have some kind of tutorial, because at first it wasn't obvious you could use dash as third jump, so at first it was unobvious how to get to certain places.
Thanks for the feedback!
Nice challenging game! I had fun trying to figure out how to get around. I can see how many people found it difficult and I did not mind the challenge. Really big fan of clean art. Great work!
Thank you so much! :D
Hey! I got to test the game, and I really love the idea behind the story and the gameplay you put together. Like the others mentioned, I ended up getting stuck, but still, great job on this!
Thanks for playing! :)
So there's double jumping and dashing, but I can't seem to make it to any of the areas above since I still don't jump high enough. Idk if I'm missing something.
Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to iron out all the flaws with the game, but I plan to release an updated build once the jam is over. Thanks for playing!
Nice idea with the theme! I didn't think of using damage over time. I got stuck in an area that I wasn't quite sure how to get out of. Definitely would have appreciated some volume controls. Nice work though!
Thanks for the feedback!
