Congratulations to everyone on the team on winning the Overall, Audio and Visuals categories!
Thank you so much! This is really exciting news, I'm sure the whole team will be thrilled to hear it. And thank you for hosting the jam!
Thank you! We're all celebrating as we wake up in different time zones :) Thanks for holding an excellent jam!
Wow I am blown away you made this in 2 weeks. Really impressive in pretty much all regards. I thought the pacing and length was perfect. Crossing to the Eldritch realm was such a cool moment.
This is an extremely minor issue, but I actually had trouble with the game pause menu. The mouse cursor was not shown so I had to sort of randomly move my mouse all over to try to select different options. I would suggest either exposing the mouse cursor, or at least letting the arrow keys select different options there. But again, that’s a super minor nitpick, I really was extremely impressed with all aspects of this game!
Thank you for the kind words, our team worked quite hard during the course of the jam. Also I'm happy to hear that you found the pacing and length good, puzzles are very difficult if not impossible to balance for everyone so I think that means you're pretty much the target demographic for this level of difficulty haha.
Oh and thanks for the feedback about the pause menu. This was something we added post-submission and I think the cursor bug just got overlooked. I assumed it was a web browser issue but I've since confirmed it also appears in the windows version so I'll have to ask our programmer to take a look at getting it fixed so thank you for bringing it to our attention.
Really impressive work, amazing for only two weeks no matter the team. When I am not streaming I am going to crack this mystery and work out what I am meant to do.
Thanks! Hope you enjoy it and feel free to ask me if you need a hint or two.
What an amazing game! All of the elements are top notch. I'll return to the game later to finish it, but already playing the first puzzle was fun.
Thank you! I hope you end up making it through to the end. If you need any hints you might find some here in the comments or you can just message and ask :)
The graphics are outstanding and the sound design is phenomenal. The difficulty of the puzzles was just right for me, but I feel most of the time I was just struggling to remember the right codes. This is really impressive for a two week long game jam. Astonishing work from the whole team!
Thank you for the compliments, our team worked really hard on this one so we're thankful to hear it.
Hey, fantastic game! Incredibly solid writing, puzzles, sound, visuals. Some of the puzzling felt a bit tricky/obtuse at first but it ended up being extremely doable, and after each step I felt impressed all over again that there was still more. Great work to the whole team!
Thanks buddy! Glad you enjoyed the puzzles, our game lead worked really hard on those so I know he'll appreciate it. Thanks for the shoutout to the team!
I couldn’t get past the first puzzle, I’m sorry! I’ve found the tape, the note and looked at everything that was in the room. I couldn’t find anything to interact with. There were clicking sounds for the cupboard drawers but they were appearing and disappearing with not discernible pattern to me. I liked the style, the sound, overall looks pretty great, thank you for this atmospheric experience!
Hey no worries, it's definitely difficult to design puzzles and find a balance between too easy and too difficult. Thanks for playing it and trying. If you do end up giving it another shot make sure to look closely at the bookcases themselves and not to get too distracted by the books 🙂
I got your hint ;-)
My fiance is really excited after we have finished the game! It was a very enticing experience and very beautiful, she wanted to sleep but couldn’t stop playing. Thank you a lot for this game! Thank you a lot!
PS there’s probably a typo on a note with a ritual, it says “2 of 4” where it should be “4 of 4”.
Wow that's amazing to hear that you two stayed up just to finish it! Really happy that our team could make an experience that you enjoyed.
And thanks for the feedback about the note. I did notice the typo on one of my playthroughs but forgot to fix it before the last build. I'm adding it to my to-do list!
Awesome entry! Loved the art and sound. Voice acting was really good as well. Got stuck on the 2nd puzzle as well tho. Might come back to it with a fresh mind.
Found 2 bugs that you might want to know about. 1 is just silly but not game breaking. If you are inspecting an item like a book and you press Tab to view your inventory, exiting the inventory allows you to walk around. However the inspected item is still floating out as if being inspected. You even maintain control of it so you can use the scroll wheel to scale it in the room haha.
2nd bug can break the puzzles possibly. I was able to pickup the item in the book shelf. I won't say more so others don't break it but seems to be that the raycast could be clipping through?
Hey thanks for playing and the feedback!
I had no idea about those bugs but it sounds funny, at least the first one. I'll see if our programmer can get those fixed. What item were you able to get through the bookshelf by the way? Just so I know what to take a look at for the colliders.
It was some organic purple ball. It was slimy looking with veins?
Ohhh gotcha! Thank you, I definitely need to take a look at the colliders for that then.
First off, your atmosphere is incredible.
There is a cinematic quality to your sound design that was very impressive. The level of detail on your assets was super high, and even playing on the webgl version, it ran super smoothly.
The first rooms puzzle was quite fun to link together. All the clues were very satisfying to find, and the payoff of getting to the second room really upped the inensity.
Unfortunately, I think there might be something I'm missing with the second puzzle... I tried so many combinations linking the information on the deck note, to the book on the shelves, the book's locations on the shelves, alphabetizing, order they appeared, number of other books on the shelves with the relevant books... point being, I couldn't solve the 2nd room's main puzzle.
Really wish I could see more, but something isn't clicking. I'll likely revisit it to see what's beyond that gate!
(also I did notice some fmod errors for "DialPuzzleWrong" that weren't triggering, but I digress)
Hey, thanks for playing! Super happy to hear that it ran smoothly for you, we had some issues trying to get this massive game working properly in a web player.
I designed all the puzzles so I'm glad you enjoyed the first one, and to be honest I'm actually glad that the 2nd one is a challenge haha, although I do hope you end up figuring it out. I'll give you a little hint for if you go back and re-attempt it: make sure to check the front and back of everything you inspect that relates to that puzzle :) There are only 4 symbols that you need to pay attention to.
Thank you so much for the feedback, I hope you get to experience what lies beyond the gate! (Oh and I'll let our sound designer know about the fmod error, thank you)
I could feed a village with the amount red herrings I caught. Can't believe I didn't notice that...
Finally got to the end! Loved it!!
Another hint, ,make sure to pull the lever when you are done rotating those plates in puzzle#2. Gates won't open until and unless you pull the lever.
The lever was how I knew I kept getting it wrong XD
Really cool atmosphere that is laid out.
You guys made all those custom textures, models, and music too? I couldn't get out of the first room and the mouse sensitivity is WAY low. Would be cool to have options to adjust this.
I don't know if there is a clue I was missing. Was I supposed to be able to read the book on that one table? I saw there was some red underlines but the font was too small to read. I think you have too many things to interact that makes what you want the player to really go after be like a needle in a haystack.
Thanks! Yes everything you see we made for the jam, a ton of work was put into this game!
Thanks for the feedback about sensitivity, I'd like to add an option for it because for some of us it seems perfect and others it seems too high so it's interesting to hear that for you its too low. BTW you can zoom in on things you inspect with scrollwheel. It should be listed in the controls at the menu but I'll be adding the controls to the itch page as well. Also thanks for the feedback about interaction, I'll probably disable the ability to interact with all of the books and only the ones that are needed at some point :)
Like, even interacting with a couple of extras for "red herrings". But not so many. I felt bummed when I was going into all the desk drawers and there was nothing in any of them.
Oh! I forgot about the scroll wheel.
Looking around, the mouse was low sensitive, I was moving it around a LOT just to look around. But the objects it was super high, for sure.
Some tightening up and options would make this hella fun for sure. And super congrats to your team on the art and audio. I was sure those were assets from somewhere.
Thank you for all your feedback and considerations, it's very helpful. I've been talking with the team and we're already at work on getting some sensitivity options implemented because it seems like it varies a lot between everyone who has played and even between playing in-editor and in the build, so it's a top priority right now. Once we get it implemented I'll be publishing a new build, so I hope you'll come back and give it another try :D
I'll try the game again when you have those changes put in so I can enjoy it at it's peak ;). I hope your whole team pats each other on the back for completing the jam!
Hey just wanted to let you know that we made some of the changes you mentioned! The first puzzle is no longer broken either :D Just a heads up the sensitivity option is very crude at the moment, we need to refine it a bit and add an in-game pause menu but right now it's better than nothing. Hope you can go back for another attempt now :)
