Congratulations on winning the Fun Factor category and for your second Cosmic Horrors win in a row!
Thank you for hosting! Fun and Cosmic Horror are words that don't usually appear in the same sentence :D
This is honestly incredible. I just think the design of this, along with the art and music, just form a super fun, tight, and great little game. I found the challenge scaled appropriately. I love that while most of us went to unsettling and macabre, this game went for cute and funny. I think it’s so imaginative! Well done!
Thank you for the kind words! I tried to come up with a first person horror game at the start of the jam, but couldn't come up with anything interesting. I'm glad to hear pivoting to more funny style paid off.
Awesome, had a lot of fun playing it! The music was great, the physics, and the levels, everything felt nice. Really well made, congratulations!
I really appreciate that! Thanks for playing.
Really cute squid! Great game mechanics although I sucked (excuse the pun) at grabbing new points so mostly jumped from the floor haha! Very fitting music and sound design. Great work!
Thanks a bunch! Yeah, the tentacle controls are pretty unique so they can be hard to get used to. Glad to hear you found a way to advance nonetheless.
Very enjoyable experience, I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay. Personally I felt it very easy to understand and I liked using the different movement types to get through the levels in different ways.
Thanks for playing. I enjoyed watching you play the game on stream.
Fun little game! I always appreciate physics in games so this was well done.
I do have to say that I struggled a bit with the controls. Mainly it felt weird using left click for both arms and right for jumping. Maybe it could be left click controls the left tentacle and right the right tentacle? Space jumps? Not sure but still enjoyed it overall.
I appreciate the feedback. First I thought about similar control scheme, but got concerned about mixing left and right in side percpective. Maybe I tried to simplify the controls too much aswell. It's a good idea that space-bar would be used for jump too.
It could just be tentacle 1 and tentacle 2. By not specifying a direction then it wont matter the perspective perhaps.
That's true. It might work with labeled or differently colored tentacles. It would still only be possible to control one tentacle at a time with one mouse. Maybe use two mice? :D
Unfortunately I'm not in the Jam to rate it a 10/10, but this is an amazing game! Managed to complete it with a few tries in the later levels and had a lot of fun. Great mechanics and the visuals are so cute and fitting! Congrats on your jam submission and game in general. My only suggestions would be that the controls were a bit clunky to get around (but 100% playble, just not 100% comfortable), and that the levels could have progressed a bit faster with the inclusion of mechanics, but I understand that in this case with the short time having more levels was more fun. Amazing game, congratulations!
Thank you for your feedback! You are absolutely correct with the levels and I agree that the movement could have used more tweaking. I'm glad you liked it nonetheless.
I really liked the graphics and the music, it was very fitting to each other! To be honest, I couldn’t really advance too much, the trip wires level got me stuck, the movement upwards and jumps were too hard for me. But still it was a very nice experience, thank you a lot!
Thanks for playing! I understand your struggles. The movement can be quite hard to grasp and the difficulty ramps up fast when the lasers come into the picture. I'm happy you had a nice experience nonetheless.
Really adorable! reminded me of octo dad! ahahah really funny loved it!
Thank you so much! Octodad was one of the inspirations for the game, but I wanted the controls to be much simpler.
This one was a lot of fun! Really charming game with a mechanic that is simple to pick up but difficult to master. Well, I say simple to pick up but you'd be horrified if you saw the first 3 minutes I spent while learning to play haha. Managed to beat all the levels even! It's funny, I was saying to myself "I wonder if there are going to be traps or something" and the very next level had lasers! The broken shelves and objects tripping the lasers added a fantastic element of difficulty and challenge. Well done!
I appreciate that! The movement is quite unusual so I'm not surprised it takes a while to learn. Glad to hear you played all the levels.
The movement is really fun to play with! it took me a few levels to figure out you could control both arms, I kept reaching forward, dropping to the ground and repeating lol.
Thank for playing! Yeah, I could have been a bit more clear in the tutorial that you can control both arms.
Nice work on this.
Much appreciated.
I can't tell what was more fun: learning and experimenting with how to swing and transfer momentum elegantly, or cheesing the physics engine to fly across the room with random objects!
The lasers added the perfect amount of challenge to overcome, and forced me to adapt out of my cheesy ways.
Love it when a game can do so much mechanically with just the mouse. Well done!
Thank you for the kind words! Figuring out a simple yet versatile movement was quite a challenge, but I think it turned out great.
