Really cute and smooth animations, the art as a whole is great! The story is quite simple, I like it! Maybe one UX problemo with book menu, I click on it and want to leave this menu, so I click on "quit" button... And my game turns off. This is not a very intuitive way of closing the game/book i think, maybe you should have added a pause menu which has quit button, and that button will quit the book menu. This one tho didn't have much negative impact on the experience. Great job!
Loved the art! Very cozy game. The only thing I wish it had was multi-directional movement. But everything else was fine!
Thanks for playing! Glad you like the art :D
Cute and great overall cozy vibes! The artwork was great and I liked that all the clues filled themselves in within the journal. I'm sure it was a time constraint but I would have loved some sound effects even for the text bubbles as well as some visual cue or chat options to ask about the objects you find in the orchard to each of the characters. Right now its just a matter of hitting the spacekey several times and running through their dialogue till it's been exhausted. Great job!!!
Yeah basically everything you mentioned was on my "do if I have time list", which didn't really see the light of day, but I'm happy to have a game that feels functional and complete (normally I plan way outside the means of an adult with a full time job and chores to do lol). Thanks for playing!
Nice work! I love the vibe, the artwork is so nice. I appreciated the mystery aspect of the game quite a bit - fun but not heavy!
Congratulations!
Thanks! I was going for something short and sweet, since I've always bitten off more than I could chew in previous jams lol. Thanks for playing!
This one is very nice! Cute character designs, the little idle animation loops each character got were adorable and a really nice touch, and it was really useful to have an automated notebook to keep track of all the details I was picking up. It might have been good to have a confirmation prompt on the quit button though. I hit it by accident once and I had to start over.
Otherwise, love the game and love the characters. Short and sweet~
Ahh whoops. Should've had my husband playtest before release instead of after, he accidentally quit the game as well. Glad to hear everything else went well though! Thanks for playing :)
Nice game with amazing artwork!
Thanks!
I enjoyed hanging out with these characters and the dialogue was always pleasant. It's nice to see the detective mechanic employed in a game story to such great effect.
Glad the dialog turned out alright, I kinda wrote it in a cram haze several hours before the game was due XD thanks for playing!
I absolutely ADORE the art style and character designs! However, I wasn't quite sure how to finish the game: I got all the clues but one from Ceylon, but talking to them didn't give me the first clue (about whether or not they had been to the orchard). I suppose I had to get every clue before I could progress? unsure if it was a bug.
Regardless, great work! Nice to see other people who were using this jam to learn Godot :)
It's occurred to me that I didn't add a clearly defined graphic for one of the clues. If you head to the circular dirt area you should see an indicator pop up for a fourth clue. That might be what you're missing to finish the game.
Aha!
