incredible game with lovely characters (i love the bear!!) and amazing art! the minigames and quests were fun and it was overall really relaxing and cozy!
The bear is my favorite too, with the butterflies flying around him! He has a guitar on his back, but we weren't able to do a campfire cutscene with him playing for the townsfolk in time!
THIS IS SO GOOD!! The music and the art and the vibe are so amazing and the little quests are so much fun!! definitely more fun than the ones I made haha
Your game was fun too! Thanks for playing!
Such a charming little game! Loved the pixel art and the calming music especially, it really does feel cozy. The main character's little walk animation was extra cute. I had lots of fun playing :)
Thank you so much for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I like the title screen and the overall art. The title screen makes the game feel like an old waterpainted story books. I like that most of the tasks take you to other parts of the village, which gives you a chance to encounter other villagers. The minigame interfaces were also well designed.
A pleasant game about helping your fellow villagers
thank you so much for playing!
Love the character animation before the title screen. what a beautiful illustration. The title screen itself is exceptionally done. It sets up the player to expect great graphics from the rest of the game. Loved that you included a text speed option, I would have liked the option that I have currently selected to be highlighted somehow to see what one the game is currently set to. Player input :) nice
This pixel art is awesome. So cozy and cute. Doesn't need a lot of detail to get the message across. It's simple and pleasant on the eyes. A very simple touch at the very beginning of showing the player would have a button prompt appear with the walk buttons, a small thing but I think would be nice. I thought it was a little strange that Lynette (I think that was her name) disappears after talking to her in the house. I like the falling leaves affect :) Character animations are great too, it moves very fluidly.
Thank you for playing! I think I mixed up the button selected font color and went with a dark color instead of a brighter one for the option selected. Regarding Lynette, I intended on her to not live in the player's house, but I should have definitely had a comment in her dialog that indicated she was heading to the cafe. Good catch! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
The minigames are really fun, the characters and dialogue are really interesting, and the art and ui look professional! I had a great time playing!
Thank you for playing!
I really liked the fire-starting mini-game and thought all the mini games were the best part of the game. I didn’t love that I had to go all over town again to find the acorns after I had just been all around time and I wonder if it would be more fun to give that quest to the player earlier. Artwork was cute and music was perfect!
Thank you for playing and your feedback! With the relatively short and easy quests, plus the little narative that Mack hid Claudia's key, we made the decision to not give the quest earlier to add a little personality and a smidge of length to the game.
That was such a cute, cozy, and well-made game! I think the thing I was most impressed by was the graphics and presentation, which was of a level of quality I'd expect to see from a professional release. The wide variety of minigames such as fishing, chopping wood, and lighting the fire was nice too! Although I don't think I fully understood how the fishing one worked. Overall, great entry and I'd love to see more from your team in the future! :)
Thank you for playing! I should've made some instructions for the fishing game, it was an oversight on my part. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
It's impressive how much you've done in such a short time, congratulations on your game, I hope it continues in some way, or continues to program more games. Tip, when posting a game on GameJam or in your library, try to put photos of inside your game so that people are interested in clicking.
I just played and rated your game, if you could do the same for me I would be very grateful <3
We'll definitely add in-game screenshots going forward, that's a great tip! Our team has been regularly jamming each month since the beginning of the year, although we just created the team itch page right before this jam. Check out one of our personal itch pages to see some of the other stuff we did! Thank you for playing! I'll be sure to check out your game when I get home tonight!
I noticed some similarities when I played yours! Thank you for playing!
Really like this cute little town! There is something so satisfying about immediately double checking your oven to see if the squirrel was being cheeky, and then being rewarded!
I've also got to commend you for the amazing variety of characters. Lots of representation it great to see.
Thanks for playing! I looked at the oven after I sketched it out, and thought it'd make a great hiding spot, glad you enjoyed it!
Very cute game, wish there's a counter for these quests though.
I agree! Thank you for playing!
Very sweet and cute setting. The art was really nice and my favorite part was being able to enter my own name and have all the characters call me by my name. What a great touch! The fire starting mini-game was really well done too! The fish mini-game probably should have shown you that you caught the fish through a dialogue or a fish icon on screen, I did it a whole bunch of times because I wasn't sure if I had caught the fish or not.
Definitely agree, in an early prototype, we had a fish appear on the dock for you to collect after the minigame, and I intended on having a victory sound and a tracker to show you collected quest items, but it got missed in the polish phase. Thank you for playing!
That was really good, I liked it a lot! :D
I was able to complete all the quests, and it really felt satisfying; I believe it means that you managed to create a small yet complete game, with polished characters and story: congratulations! Also, the artwork, the character design and the music were on point for the cozy theme ;)
Thank you for playing! We knew that the art and music were going to sell the cozy more than anything, so we went all in!
Simple but amazing game! Thank you for making it. Loved the writing, art, and music!
Thank you for playing!
It was a simple yet really warmful gameplay.
It was like a weekend in a small village
Thanks for playing, hope you come visit again soon!
Very sweet and enjoyable game! I love the character design and the atmosphere, everything feel so warm and relaxing! I had a great time playing this. Well done :D
Thank you for playing!
Very nice job! The characters are really cute and it fits the theme well :)
Two small points of feedback would be:
-Animate the water, just one extra frame can go a long way to make it look more like... well, water!
-Add some kind of visual feedback upon picking up items. A whole inventory may be overkill, but some kind of icon appearing for a few seconds could help for accessibility, or just people who play muted. It would particularly make the fishing game more satisfying. Because it is not explained how to beat the fishing minigame, one could assume they failed because either way no feedback is given.
Well done overall though guys!
Agreed on all points! I added a little helper text for the other minigames, but totally missed the fishing one! We tried to cram a small inventory for quest items but ran out of time to get it in. Thank you for playing!
Thanks for the experience! I love the art and little quests, they feel amazing! The atmosphere really did embrace me, good job, keep it up!
Thank you for playing!
Thank you for this wonderful game. I enjoyed completing all the quests. The fallen leaves that you can scatter again and again is a really nice interactive touch. It’s so simple, but somehow, it makes the game feel more real and engaging. The acorn in the starting location is a good thing, too. You even have minigames. Congratulations!
Thank you for playing! Playing in massive leaf piles was a favorite fall-time activity when I was younger, it felt very nostalgic to include them in our game. I'm so happy you enjoyed it!
