This game has been disqualified.

Reason: No 90 degree turns, no win condition, no way to affect character stats.

Nice attempt though, but unfortunately you missed some rules.

Developer

Lmao, ok. Not sure why that was necessary at this point in time regarding our low rank. Just want to let you know that this feels a bit discouraging tbh. Anyways, we're accepting it. We don't have character stats and I see that.

Host

Yeah I am sorry if it feels discouraging. That is definitely not the intension here. I ackowledge the work you put in but it would not be fair to the developers who followed the rules 100% but ranked below you.

Reason I waited to disqualify entries is that I wanted you to get valuable feedback from people who play it. It also takes a while for us judges to actually play all entries and find those that doesn't follow the rules.

Loved the purple cave tile art and the floor designs. Really liked the concept of finding gold against a timer and mining - simple but satisfying.

I couldn't seem to hurt the enemies? Don't know if I was just being dumb.

Best of luck with the jam and great work :)

Yeah it was a bit glitchy at time. It was our first jam and we tried out a new engine :P Thanks a lot for the positive feedback! It meant a lot to us!

You get stuck sometimes, but the both the environment and the enemies look quite good, the music is nice, it is an interesting  take on the theme and gold accumulating and literally diving inside gold was a nice touch.

Also I have to say that getting lost inside corridors you dug yourself is a bit embarassing.

Developer

It's really nice to hear some feedback about the specific features of the game we came up with! Thanks for the positive feedback! :)

I really enjoyed the idea of being able to mine your own path through the world, its a neat combination with a dungeon crawler

The mouselook and colorful textures are a nice change from many entries in the jam. Sticklers will complain that the mouselook doesn’t auto-snap to 90 degrees, but it didn’t really bother me.

The combat feels a little janky. It took me a while to realize that I couldn’t just hold down the mouse button to continuously attack, but instead I had to spam clicks to actually do damage. It is particularly misleading, I think, because the attack animation loops and it felt that I just kept missing or something. The solution here to allow holding down the mouse button to attack and do damage for each cycle of the animation.

Ah ! One side pickaxe and one side war axe, juste like Terry Pratchett intended

Really simple one but I like your interpretation of the theme although this it's a little bit barebone

I enjoyed the mining mechanics, but the movement would often glitch and I could not return to the flag in time.

I liked the graphics. Goblin heads were glitchy, tho.

The music didn't loop well.

Moving was often sluggish and non-responsive.

It looks like a something that could get to an interesting game. It's just not there yet.

I don't understand how duality applies to this entry.
