It just got interesting and I got rudely pulled out!

Quite an interesting idea with everything being unknown at first. Would love to have colors for potions shown (randomized effects per game maybe?), but with unknown effect and you could identify them to learn that effect, maybe... and with future limited scrolls you would think twice if you want to do identification or not yet.

The game was too short to learn more about combat... leveling abilities by itself sounds fun, though, maybe, could be bad if there are too many choices and player could corner self with bad choice at the end.

Definately sounds like something cool may turn up with this one!

Skeletons stood no chance when I decide to attack a bajillion times on turn 1.

Really cool game, like the drawings, great job!

The dialog in this game is fantastic! Thank you for removing my vocal cords so I couldn’t ask too many questions ;)

It took me a little time but I did find your candy.

A solid entry! Loved the music, had a great font, and the stylized art was a cherry on the top of all this madness.

Great work!

It took me an indecent amount of retries because I kept pushing my luck too far instead of simply looking for enemies I could beat or chests with candies.

The game seems weirdly balanced, quite punitive, and I'm absolutely not saying it's a bad thing, I liked that.

I like the font, the crafted part of the graphics and the music.

The game was fun, thanks for sharing.

Well, I got all the candy, I guess I am a hero (?) now? :D The story seems wild, haha. I liked the self-made art and the music is pretty good too. Gameplay-wise I was running around a bit confused, but I somehow collected everything and fought plenty of monsters until the squirrel/bunny (?) congratulated me. It was a short but enjoyable experience. :)

The movement is very smooth and satisfying and I loved the surreal setup. XD

I love the graphics and the piano music, it brings great atmosphere to your game. I got lost, a map would have been helpful, so I could only collect 3 candies 😕 The story is simple but effective.

The combat feels a bit weird, the skeleton enemy doesn't seem to attack until you skip your turn, and then it proceeds to kick your butt and send you right back to the title screen, so I ended up avoiding them entirely. Also, the only weapons that I found where weaker than my starting weapon, it was a bit of a shame. The identification scroll felt somewhat unnecessary since it can be used indefinitely, so each time you collect a weapon you have to take the extra actions to identify it.

One last thing, your menu doesn't contrast enough with the game behind, it's hard to see where the cursor is. That one is easy to fix 🙂

I would have loved to progress further to see what was next, but sadly I was running in circles.

Thanks for the feedback!
Yes, indeed the game has some huge balancing problems, I hope to address them in the future, thanks for playing!

This felt very nice to play! The music and environment definitely left me wanting to explore more of the game before it ended so abruptly

That was an enjoyable experience. I liked how cynical the game goes and gonna admit I was not expecting such an engine for a DC! xD

The downside is how the game is short compared to what it seemed to offer. The victory came in a kinda brutal way haha
But the experience was fun!

Oh dear indeed, the ending was really rushed. The last day I realized I was biting more than i could chew, so i had to 'condense' the game into a single map.
I like how it turned out so after the jam is done, I hope to update it so it has three maps and three bosses like it's meant to have. (as well as traps, puzzles, etc)

Love the screenshots. Sadly this game is too awesome to run on my home set-up (I'm using Wine on Linux for Windows stuff). Best of luck in the jam!

Haha. When looking at the screenshots and profile picture, it looks like 5 completely different games! This fact alone is amazing! I like. :D
