  • No idea why I was winning or losing. I though I undestood the cold / hot thing, but it seems like I would win when I should lose and lose when I should win, having SO MANY colors to learn is way too much to ask for the player and that other minigame to "find the path" I have no idea what I was supposed to do. Cool art tho.
  • This is a really cool game that was unfortunately held back by some conveyance issues. First of all, I think the art, character designs, and color pallet are all great. Very good vibes. Unfortunately in playing the game I had multiple issues. Firstly, when a player tells you where they want to go on the map, you only get to hear it once. If you click to ask them how skilled they are you can never see where they wanted to go/avoid again, and same once you enter the map screen, which was very frustrating. Also I think having a legend on the map that explained what each color represented would have been really useful. Having to scroll down and just read "grayish blue" and then having to guess which color that was on the map wasn't super helpful. It would also be nice to get some kind of feedback on what you did wrong when you missed one. I played the game for a while and I never once got anyone who wanted to go to the top right correct and I still don't know what I was doing wrong. I also think you should only be able to add onto your path connected to the path you're already making. The hitboxes for the paths was very large and I was constantly clicking on one path only to have all the paths around it also be selected. Overall I think this a really cool idea that with some tweaks to the player experience could be great

Unfortunately, I'm colorblind, so I didn't get very far. Lol. So I rated it as honestly as possible, from that stand point as far as fun/engagement goes for my part. However, the overall concept was cool and I'd like to see it with that sort of accessibility added in.

Really cool use of a map and hazards to guide people, really nice art and the whole project felt very coherent. One issue for me is colorblindness making it hard to see the difference between some "locations", I would just add a little text hover or an icon to show each location.

Great entry!

Developer

I never thought about that,  I could definetly add a colorblind friendly feature, thank you for your feedback!

Gorgeous pixel art on a really polished game! Really creative use of the theme as well. There's a lot of quality-of-life improvements that could be made, like having options to go back to previous dialogue and a better tutorial. Other than that, really great job.

Lovely art! Great concept and somewhat original gameplay. Great job

Nice game!

Very fun task mechanic and the tasks are interresting too. The artstyle is good and I like how the music gets faster over time. Only thing I would add is other maps so it's a bit more difficult and new.

Pretty cool art style and music, really liked the presentation here ... the mini game ideas are great but I did not understand how to play them correctly, getting it wrong and right at random, so some work can be done on that aspect.

Regardless, a good submission, keep it up.

Nice “Luck be a landlord” vibes with the rental deadline! I failed on the mapping a couple of times, and I have no idea why or what I got wrong. Good entry and I look forward to more from you :)

The pressure from rent and the time made me need to act fast and I had fun with that. A few more features and variety and I could see this being a full game. Great job and I'm excited what you do in the future!

Very pleasant experience. Nostalgic bc of the Papa's series similarities, yet also its own entity. Fits the theme "guide", because of the map idea, and I just love the style of the map. The colors fit well with a sort of western or fantasy vibe. One suggestion that I have is to randomize naming the locations each request rather than using descriptions of direction and a reminder of where the person wants to go on the map screen, such as red circle around the name or an "X".

Glad that you enjoyed it! I will take your idea for the area's names with consideration

I love the rustic old beige feels of this game! What I love even more than that is that the counter layout reminds me of the Papa’s Pizzeria, etc. series but I’m not sure if that was intentional LOL

Definitely saw some of those bugs you’d mentioned, but it was fun regardless :)

Pretty sure I forgot about the rent due like the moment a customer came in though lmao

This comment brings me a smile! I did in fact use Papa Louie's as an inspiration, I even wanna add special features in the future such as closers! I'm glad you liked it :)

Somehow I think we had the same idea lol.

Except for some smaller bugs, especially the fact that some of the orders seemed literally impossible, it seemed like a cool game. The bugs really held it back, though.

Still, great art, fantastic soundtrack, and other than the bugs, the gameplay is pretty captivating. Good job!

(Also if you could play, rate, and give feedback to my game that would be much appreciated)

Yeah I understand if some paths felt impossible, some were really specific and others actually impossible, it's just that when I found them I didn't have enough to fix them before the jam ended, but I will fix these impossible paths and try to fix the lag bug, even if I need to redo the entire map code
