Great gameplay! I was sweating trying to feed the last one. Would be cool to see some mechanics stacked on top to increase difficulty and variety. Like pits you have to avoid that block the path or baby monsters that move around and if you trod on them, the monster will eat you. Stuff like that. Well done!!

I liked feeding the 3 creatures, the game is not really complicated, but I saw that you were going to add levels, so difficulty I guess :) . I hope I fed them enough to keep my job :D. Good luck for the Jam ;) .
Thank you! And yes, more variation will be added. Less difficult AND more difficult levels (I have received mixed feedback! :D). Also, cool to see my stuff on an OG gameboy!
One of my favorite games of this jam. I love the concept of having to manage the plants to feed the monsters or get eaten!
This has a lot of potential to expand it with some more levels and mechanics I think. I saw howdy riceball mention implementing inter-level cutscenes: I would love to see a full screen illustration of the monster before the level starts!
Like I said, I had a lot of fun with this one, though at first I didn't quite get that the full health bar was the key to finishing the level. I spent a good chunk of time on the 2nd level maximizing my farming while keeping the monster's hunger at bay when I realized I should just hurry up and feed him hahah.
PS - Is that a venonat I see in level 3? ;)

Funny to read your story about keeping the monster hunger at bay but not completing the level! My wife had the exact same experience (before I had to tell her "the point"). It's clear that the goal (filling the bar) should be better emphasized.
And obviously it's a Brizlzop! But the likeness to Venonat is uncanny indeed. ;)

This was fun! I liked the sense of urgency and it's pretty intuitive to go between planting, watering, and feeding.

I had a lot of fun with this! I love the quirky idea! Would love to have more cutscenes and story between monster feeding in the future! It reminded me of a mini game in chrono cross where you have to feed dragons and manage your resources while doing it! I hope you continue you to polish this idea, would definitely play more if you make more!

Fun mechanic and theme with simple gameplay. I ended up just sort of smashing the A button to get the plants to grow so I feel like that part could be a bit different.

Pretty neat concept, simple and gameplay can be easily picked up in short notice. tho game loop gets repetitive at some point. wouldve loved it if you auto feed the monsters instead of constantly smashing A. Great job
