Congratulations, you made it to the 5th place!

I'll write to you via Discord, so you can let me know, if you want me to send some free stickers to you! :)

After playing through all the games for voting, I realized some flaws in your game, but only if you run it on a classic Game Boy (DMG). The battlescreen gets completely black, except the enemy. The bag is black. The professor glitches (black) in the first scene. You get some textbox glitches and my actor got invisible after spending all my money in the shop.
You should consider, blocking the game completely from being started on a DMG.

On Game Boy Color this is absolutely fantastic though. But I don't really get the save game system. :D
The music player setup is cool. The basic concept works fine. And you put tons of content in the game, which is totally crazy. :)

Sweet art and music. Very well done! Like the pokemon vibes. Also: quirky dialogues - cool.

Could you specify on the assets you have used?

Your old music, graphics? What has been used?

Developer(+1)

It was the tileset. I reused the tileset from my previous game. The music and tile maps are new.

Artwork is wonderfully detailed. I love the style and the color palette arrangement!

Fun game, i love the art!!

A very nice game. Too pokemon for me :D

Really loved the art in this one. Nice job!

Thank you, your game in this jam is so far among my favorite works of yours!

During my test during the fights I only had a black screen, with just the enemy? is this normal, or does it come from my console? (DMG with ips screen).

Otherwise for the moment I like it, and we feel the big work on the title! (I'll write it down once I've got your answer about the fights ;) ).

Oops I forgot to specify it's a gbc only game but I forgot to make a check that it can't be played on a DMG gameboy, sorry!  I think it has something to do with the plugins I used for gb studio v3 that messes with DMG a lot.

No problem 🙂, the walking part works perfectly on DMG, I'll test on Gbc, but a little message in the update would be nice because I'm not going to be the only one in the future I guess 😉.

The level of presentation is top notch! I know that polish can take a while and not all developers invest in that time (especially for a 7 day jam) so it's very impressive. And the spirit designs are super neat :)

Nice work!

Oh, and did you take inspiration from the Pokémon TCG GBC game for the music? That's one of my favorite GBC soundtracks!

Developer

Yeah I think it reminded you of it because the intro song sounded like the menu theme in Pokémon tcg

Submitted(+1)

Yup! That's it.

I think also just the fact that the music here has some neat shuffle-sounding percussion is another thread of familiarity for me.

This is Great!

damn this was impressive. not much i can say else-wise.

the strange tile work in some of the environments caught my eye. not entirely sure what some things are meant to be, but considering your other games that seems to be kind of your style and it doesn't look too out of place since your games are always teeming with color and neon stuff. only other complaint is the day/night cycle was pretty broken, but then again so was the entirety of mine, medi, and floppy's game, so i guess i can't complain too much on that lol

this concludes my analysis of this entry.

The combat is pretty fun and the art is great! The day and night cycle is awesome too. I actually never thought of a shop system like you have and it definitely saves time from creating art for the shop.

Developer(+1)

Yeah I was gonna add a Shop scene but I didn't have much time left for the jam, thanks for giving my game a try!

We feel that this game is of another level of quality, you have done a huge work, the music is great and the game is still challenging!

I loved the little tips scattered in the level and also the sentences of the devs ^^

I wish you good luck for the evolutions of your game!

My sincere congratulations

Thank you, it was difficult trying to cramp all I could into this game jam but I'm glad it's paying off!
