Congratulations for the second place!
Let me know how to contact you, or write an e-mail to info@tronimal.de. So I'll be able to send you the second prize! :)
Unbelievably surprising. Thanks for putting this thing together!
I tried to send an email but it doesn't look like it worked. You can reach me on discord too, [Tyler]#3330
Great story concept! :)
Your game is really nice, I managed to finish it on my second run :) . The graphics are simple, but it's good that it changes, the music sticks perfectly to the atmosphere "lack of time" of the game, the tasks are diversified. I noticed a small display bug when the character passes in front of the time, and I thought that answering the questions wrongly was going to penalize me but no! I also liked the old person who told me his life, and made me lose a precious time, very realistic ! I also would have liked a button to restart the game, after my first run ;) . Good luck for the Jam :) .
Thanks for the feedback and thanks a lot for playing! I know about the graphics glitch with the timer and after some research post-jam it seems it may happen when there are too many actors on the same line but I wasn't able to fix it before the jam was done.
Also, funnily enough if you fail to get home before the timer runs out you get a retry button but I honestly didn't think about giving that option after a successful run. I'll probably change those things once the voting is over so I appreciate the help!
Congratulations on making your first game. This is something you can be proud of. I can clearly see an hear the Pokémon inspiration in your art and music. The dialogs are entertaining. I did a second run just to learn the characters responses to the „wrong“ answers, like not rewinding the VHS and wrong homework advices.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks a lot I appreciate it! I thought your game was great and loved the theme.
I had a lot of fun with this game!
I liked the diversity of the tasks. It is simple and quick, but the game doesn't waste the player's time (no pun intended) and has a lot of personality which made it an enjoyable experience.
I see in the comments here that Suzy will just tell you that any answer is correct; I think that's a funny concept! I wouldn't have known that though if I didn't see you comment and because I only played through once. If Suzy's dialogued hinted at that (something like "uh, sure, I guess that's right!"), I think it would've been fun.
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Also, that's a great idea that I missed out on. I sort of hint at it at the end when she says she knows she'll get an A+ but if I added something during the questions it would make it more clear.
I liked the idea of the game and its little story :)
These questions that Suzy asked me were kinda hard and idk if I answered them right or wrong haha.
Fortunately, I finished the game at the last minute!
Funnily enough I made it so it doesn't matter what you tell suzy. You're just an older person trying to help her with her homework. She just believes that you'll give her the right answers! Thanks for playing.
Cool little game! I barely made it back in time to the house. The old man in the middle was rather.. talkative, haha. I like the game premise of completing a set of tasks within a window of time. Although it does conflict with my tendency to talk to random NPC's - that doesn't get rewarded at all when you're in a hurry. I also liked a lot of the tile work.
Thanks for playing! The main theme or premise of the game was that whether you complete all or any of the tasks, it doesn't matter. I know most people would talk to as many NPCs as possible so the idea was the reward was enjoying the goofy dialogue. If you rushed and try to speed run all the tasks you would miss most of that.
music gives off some first gen pokemon vibes in the first half, then gets a cool sounding second half. though the song does sound really good, i can't say the same for the graphics.
If you want to make the game look a bit nicer i would add more detail to the sprites and refine their shaping a bit.
this concludes my analysis of this entry.
Thanks for playing! I struggled so much with the music and probably spent over a day trying to learn and make music with a tracker. I ended up with something I'm happy though even if the theme of the music doesn't quite fit. I'm also no artist and I took a lot of inspiration from Pokemon Red's art style for graphics that at least let you identify what you're looking at. This was actually my first game although I've been messing with GB Studio on/off for a little bit.
This is obviously a fantasy. I've dreamed of being this productive and yet here I lay. My only concern is how space people's houses are. They have nothing but a bag of sugar and a VHS. Also I tried to talk to a chair.
