Interesting game!  I found the storytelling well done and once I got the hang of the selections and how to progress, things progressed nicely.  Good fun

This game definitely has a lot of potential and was a nice treat for me personally as it reminds me a lot of "King of Dragon Pass" a game I very much enjoy playing. It has similarities in its strategy, city building and funny fantasy infused events involving things like the Birdmen or Hedgehog people, the latter absolutely destroying me on my first run. All in all a very neatly put together game with a fun narrative and good use of music, the AI art is decently used but does have the typical AI issues in some places but you don't really notice it unless you actively seek it out.

Wow I was really invested in this game. The narrative is interesting and it pairs extremely well with the art and the music. I really enjoyed the management aspect of the game as well and I feel like this game has a lot of potential. Unfortunately my colony was destroyed by the hedgehogs, even though my battle strength was a lot higher than theirs :(. But I guess battles are always unpredictable. Overall I really enjoyed playing! Great work!

I really enjoyed this game and played it till the end. Will come back to this and play again with different choices - certainly replayable. I enjoyed the narrative and the artwork too and the overall presentation is very polished. Thanks and nice work!

That's nice to hear as we had to cram in a lot of the narrative at the end to meet the deadline so parts were rushed. We did manage to get a few branching sub stories in though if players wanted to try different approaches.

If we ever do a narrative given game again we will definitely get a dedicated writer next time. We're just a couple of programmers that made this so didn't want to waste a writer's time with something we might not finish as we've never finished a game before!

Thank you for playing :)

Interesting game, not exactly my cup of tea, as I hate reading, but it seems like the game was balanced in an interesting way that forced you to make decision based on critical data.

One thing I noticed is that all the buttons colliders were in weird places when I fullscreen the game on my ultrawide monitor (21:9). It worked on my 16:9 tho. Might want to make your UI reponsive for any size of screen.

Hope that helps a little bit :)

Ahh thank you for the feedback on the UI. We thought we had it sorted as we had issues during testing but clearly not!

Funnily enough I'm not massively into these kind of games either, I enjoy the strategy genre itself as a whole. But we thought it would be a good starting point to ensure we could try and get a project over the line due to being our first complete game :)

Reducing scope to something you can handle in a certain timeframe is a really good skill to acquire, kudos on that. If it was more of a in real time management thing, like in Frost Punk or Timberborn, it would be more my type of game, but that definetly takes more then a month to implement :P

The narratives are excellent, good job!

I have played this jam game for the longest time among all the games I've tried so far.  I like this kind of game play a lot when the text is not boring and this game was not boring at all. Despite a lot of text game story manages to take you in.

Game balance seems pretty balanced except fights. Even if I had major advantage I always lost at least a soldier.  Game ending options was not clear also but I played the game even after the ending.

Thank you for the feedback I know you've been giving a lot of good feedback on other games. So saying you played it for a bit is very kind :)

Yeah the win condition ending is not exactly clear, all 3 options allow you to continue managing the colony. I just wanted to put in some extra options for "flavour". Regarding the combat - we tried to come up with a fair algorithm that would damage your troops even with overwhelming numbers as without troop losses we believed the game would be too easy. But it is not perfect as you have seen.

I think next Game Jam we will focus on a more mechanical game as this was a lot of content to pull together.

I think "Ogame" had a very balanced fight resolve but I may be wrong.  I don't know how long I played maybe for an hour or more so yeah there was a lot of content for sure.

Solid game and really nice presentation I seemed to have got myself a lot of uprising in my game even after I built the plebs a church.

Thanks. The rebellion threshold is at about ~35 mood. We tried to add a soft warning that you will get a rebellion first on the Overview screen and also through an event that fires warning you. Unfortunately it's not guaranteed to happen before a rebellion though but we did what we could for the release.

Appreciate the feedback though, thank you!
