Game super polished and very artsy visuals. Well done :)
Idea is pretty simple but I loved it. pacing is a bit slower at first but becomes better overtime. It's better to buy the demand boost and speed boost as you start out, it makes the whole process way easier.
Overrider just makes your job super easy.
It was fun but it did get quite laggy after a while, especially in the 3rd zone (using firefox).
Glad you had fun! I have a lot to learn about optimization, for sure.
I played the game until I got “You Win!” I liked the “Overrider(?)” upgrade the most. The more helpful computer troops there are, the faster the path to victory. Cheers!
Sounds like you figured out the strategy I came up with while playtesting :)
Fun little game. Took me a while to figure out how to buy the upgrades but once I noticed the instructions on the game page it was a lot more fun. I assume that the game would have expanded into the extra wards and there’d be more things to scale the business further had there been more time?
Haha, yeah probably. I had a lot of fun designing the city as it is now. Making it more explorable would have been great. I wanted to add tools to have pizza shops be walk-ins and to have them send out their own flying delivery cars with a tower defense style thing.
This game actually happened as a last-second pivot from my original idea and I got it done in like 3 days. GBStudio is great!
This is amazingly polished for the timeframe. I've got no idea what goes into making a gameboy game, but this was really cool and unique. The music was great, too. I could see it being confusing, but the instructions were pretty clear. Great job.
Thank you! Would you believe I had to pivot at the last second and got this done in like three days? I used GBStudio to get it out the door. Using pre-existing assets helped a lot too (Kenney's 1-bit pack and 2bitcrook's artwork & music, plus some other assets mentioned in the credits.) Kit bashing is fun.
At first, I dont understand, just race with others but I found I could buy some, which gives the game multi-dimension gameplay, which is cool I think. Nice game!!!
It was a pretty good game a little hard to understand at first. You should write more in the web page so people can understand game more. End game criteria was only listed in game and it was very easy to skip it.
It was also easy to miss this line maybe make it bold
Thank you for the recommendation. I've made that bold and I've added the in-game instructions to the page.
Really nice retro style! I enjoyed playing your game
Fun fun. Appreciated the unlocks and such. Didn't understand at first that I was competing against a rival pizza shop that was able to fly over walls! I got to the Flinger unlock, not sure if that's the final. Nice work here!
Yeah, Flinger is the last upgrade, and its more of a cute addition than an outright upgrade in my opinion.
I bought ward two then the boost but then my car went off screen forever. I enjoyed it until then! Great chiptune music and I felt nostalgic with the art
Congrats on finding the unintentional easter egg. It happens when you buy the speed boost while moving between tiles.
Credit goes to 2bitcrook for the music and the art in the title/win/loss screens. Credit goes to Kenney.nl for the sprites.
Nice art man! Liked the ns style UI!
If you find a way to, I'd love to see it too :)
Nicely done! Although it is quite simple it feels very polished and finished!
This is the first game I've completed development on in a while, I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed it.
