Funny SFX. Nice new take on Tetris. WASD would have been nice.
cool concept
thank you very much, greetings
Well on theme!
I was confused at first by how the scales would interact with the blocks, since you can place a block over both scales. Then when the scales tip the block would prevent the tipping in my mind but I saw it simply breaks the block which is much better.
Great job !
I love the gave. Great idea, and robust implemented. I like the sound fx :-)
Very nice game that loads quickly. I am no expert but I guess the best way to play the original Tetris is to have a balanced pile in the middle. What I missed was some interesting sound, and more juice. More variation would also be appreciated.
Thanks! Yeah, unfortunately I left sound and effects to the end and got just the bare minimum in there. Something to improve on next time!
this is great!! my only note is that i think the gameplay could have sped up at a faster rate. overall, great concept that you executed really well!
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it! You aren’t the first to request faster play, so it might make sense to speed up the initial speed. Maybe a challenge mode where it just straight up starts going fairly fast.
I love tetris, so I loved this game! Clever twist on a classic. I would have appreciated being able to spin the piece in the direction I wanted (clockwise and counter-clockwise) but it was still fine. I also think the game could've benefited from speeding up the gameplay and quickly! Make the player panic!
Nice take on tetris. I did not find that hard to balance everything and making full lines, but maybe my play style is weird. Well implemented in the gameplay and i felt right at home. Ironically i had more problems with the controls that are a bit clunky and the missing preview of the next piece that will drop. Had a good time playing it, as an average tetris enjoyer. Good job!
I didn't notice the instructions in the first round and lost my balance right away haha! Also, the sound effects are really interesting. It would be nice if would be to show where the falling blocks are supposed to land. Well game :)
very unique twist for tetris game. kudos for coming with it.
Interesting, a pretty clever twist on Tetris. It did get me thinking about what the optimal way to play would be, as even setting up for a single tetris was pretty risky. So I dare say you balanced it well to set up the first challenge :)
The visual presentation is solid, but I'd like to see more happening in terms of effects and transitions. And there's plenty of room to grow in the music department (points for making your own sound effects!)
Very cool concept for this theme. I wasn't able to figure out how to take advantage of the tilting, but I'm sure there are strategies there. Neat!
Classic gameplay that works well with a nice adaptation to fit the theme. It would be nice if the scales tilted slowly instead of suddenly changing the scale. Good Work!
Thanks! Are you suggesting an animation when they tilt rather than the single-frame transition?
Exactly! you could also add in a recovery timer that gives the player a small amount of time to fix scales when they are on the verge of losing because of the scale balance.
That’s a good idea. I’ll add that to the list of things to do once the jam judging is over.
Very nice mechanic addition to an already perfect formula, I really enjoyed playing this new version of Tetris!
The new mechanic is really well thought and it integrates perfectly into the base game, making it feel super natural to play.
The game feels good and responsive too, excellent work! 😃
Fun twist on a classic. Clever interpretation of the theme. Agree that background music would be a great addition. And I could've used a pause button. But overall, nice work!
Thanks for playing! A pause button is such an obvious feature that I completely did not think of. I appreciate the feedback.
Very creative spin to tetris! Fits the theme very well.
Very cool twist on tetris. Add in some music and maybe a harder difficulty level and you really have something here
Thanks! Music is definitely on the list. As for difficulty level, are you thinking of an option to make the scales tip easier? If so, that would be pretty easy to toss in and could definitely ramp up the challenge.
Yeah exactly!
I played your game more than once. I think it was when the falling Tetris pieces suddenly moved much faster that broke my steady streak of row clearings. I lost with a score of 2033. The scales had tilted too much on one side.
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Good feedback; I think that what’s needed is that when the blocks start to fall faster that there’s a pause and a visual & auditory queue that the speed is changing. I’ll add that in once the gamejam wraps up.
I think it was also because I had already come up with a mental note of how to prioritize the stacking of the blocks into rows and that I was steadily going with this plan when I learned that the game had ended. There was still the weight factor that I only really noticed when I was taking a screenshot.
Yeah, that makes sense. It should be much more obvious when the scales will tilt and also when they’re about to tilt far enough to end the game.
I love Tetris and the idea to balance the board is very nice, but i would like to have some background music and an important features for the gameplay is missing, The next piece, is crucial to a good tetris and i think is even more important in this version.
Both really good points. Once this game jam is fully wrapped up I’ll put those in!
I mean, I just really like tetris so any spin on the formula is a win in my book. Good job, I had fun playing! Posting my score just in case uwu
