Mechanically unique and I had to force myself to jump to the beat after walking off a few ledges.
Very well done!

Mechanically unique and I had to force myself to jump to the beat after walking off a few ledges.
Very well done!
The hitboxes could use a little work :)
Very nice game otherwise and you weren't exaggerating - the soundtrack is indeed adrenaline-pumping.
Great game, enjoyed trying it out, keep it up, you’re on the right track! 😊
Innovative and pleasing to the eye, but man, just so difficult to nail that timing. I wonder how this game would feel if the hitting the jump key just buffered the jump and waited until the beat hit to actually activate the jump? Or if you jumped every beat, period, and just had to use the direction keys to make life work? You've got me brainstorming, hm...
Some more buildup to the beat hitting might make it easier to time things for music-challenged fools such as me, like a synthy whooosh before the tong! of the beat hitting. I enjoyed the sparse melodic tunes and was compelled to keep pushing forward!
That was a fun game. The way you connected the music and the gameplay was well done! A clear display made it simple to understand what was going on and the tutorial points were useful in directing what to do. The checkpoints were a very nice addition as well and helped the game stay fun without the need to replay previous sections after falling. Nice job!
Good job with the game. :) It is a really interesting idea and fits the theme. I was surprised and a bit dissatisfied with the jumping though. It felt very floaty and slow, and it made it impossible to jump on every beat. I was expecting it to be snappy and quick, corresponding to the beat, and thought it would be important to jump on the beat. But there is no penalty for standing still and not jumping. Which slowed down the gameplay significantly.
This game is amazing. I really like what you did there with the rhythm. I had some issue cause I am tone deaf. But in the end I got the timing right. Reminded me so much of Geometry Dash. Great job :D
Lovely rhythm game. It took me some time to realize that I didn't have to act on every beat, just had to time my actions to the beat. After that it was smooth sailing to the finish line.
I had the same issue as the poster below, where I managed to get up high on platforms but wasn't able to make the jump at the top. After respawning the platforms were gone, but there was a path down below that I could take instead (maybe this was even the intended path?)
As for improvements the track could be made more interesting while keeping the same beat, but then you do need a musician on your team ;P
Great job and Congrats to the whole team !
I couldn't make it past the "mind the spike animation" section. There were platforms above and I almost made it to a higher section, but after I died once those platforms didn't respawn...
It's a somewhat unforgiving platformer, there's no coyote time for instance (so if I reach the end of a platform before the next beat, I have to stop for a split second before jumping), and the spike hitboxes are pretty strict. I did like the music!
Thank you for sharing your experience with the game. We are sorry to hear about the difficulty you encountered in the "mind the spike animation" section. It's valuable feedback that the platforms didn't respawn correctly after dying - We will look into fixing this issue.
We are glad you enjoyed the music, and we appreciate your feedback as it's crucial for improving the game. Thanks again! 🎵🕹️
Very cool! Really dig the different take combining rhythm game with platformer, and the controls feel really nice and smooth. Maybe worth seeing how it feels having a smaller subdivision applicable for actions? Some action moments felt a bit restrained in waiting to do a needed jump or attack, a smaller subdivision would keep requiring rhythm while letting it get more fast paced. Regardless, really lovely build for the jam, well done!
Very nice idea how to make otherwise simple platformer interesting.
Beat was easy to catch and it was impactful to platforming.
Don't know about attacking enemies part though. Seemed unnecessary for this type of game. maybe if attack was also done right on beat or enemies moved also according to music...
Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it.
In fact, the enemies should also move according to the rhythm. The speed of the enemies is dynamically adjusted based on their distance from the player, ensuring that under player control, the enemies can also reach the character's position in rhythm. But perhaps we indeed haven't showcased the interesting aspects of this part, we will improve it in our next steps!
fun take on the theme. was a nice change to play a rhythm game. I think having a bit more of a jump buffer/ some coyote time would make the platforming feel a little better. overall good job :)
I really like the way you interpreted the theme, but I must say I found it difficult to play with my AZERTY keyboard. Good idea and atmosphere though. Nice work !
I came from your comments and this game impressed me a lot! You perfectly applied the theme and utilised the music rhythm to bring this simple platform game to the next level! I like the overall art style as well. Great game! And I look forward to more interesting contents!
Great game! It is minimalistic and very well done!
However, people often say that I'm tone-deaf :P So, for me, it was a bit hard to keep the rhythm, especially in the beginning :)
Good job!
Great job! I like the game idea, the music and art style are very good. I would like to see levels where you need to be small to complete them in the future.
Great idea and pretty good development! I found it a little hard to go with the beat just by listening to the music (mainly in the attacking phase), but I really love the concept. It also has great art and music! Good job!
P.S. At the beginning of the game, the "press enter to start" UI overlaps with the controls UI and it's hard to read.
Thanks for playing this game. You're right, a lot of issues are still being improved.
In the beginning, the music was designed with the idea that the layers of music would be looped and stacked little by little and randomly unfolded as the characters appeared. However, due to lack of time, the best part (battles) is not the main part of the game.
I'm confident that I'll come up with more interesting compositions in the future, so please look forward to it xD
What an original idea! I think the gameplay could be refined a bit, but this left me stunned :) I really like both rhythm and platofrm games. What more could I wish for? I hope you will continue to improve it :)
Thanks for the reply! I was going to design more levels with more interesting stuff, but I stopped due to time and ability limitations. As you hoped, it might be better in the future.
Haha, thanks for the encouragement on rhythm, there's still a lot for improvement due to very limited time composing. It will get better, so stay tuned! xD
