Game description
Secret Zombies: Welcome to the Apocalypse 2.0
When the zombie apocalypse struck, humanity triumphed—sort of. Big Pharma cured the virus but discovered zombies weren’t just brain-munchers—they were cash cows! A “happy little enzyme” in zombie flesh slows human aging. So, instead of saving the world, they turned it into a zombie meat factory. Now, zombies are farmed, canned, and devoured faster than fast food, while humans conveniently ignore where their “youthful glow” comes from.

But not everyone’s biting. A rogue doctor frees you with one mission: reach Zombie Heaven, a hidden zombie sanctuary. Escaping won’t be easy—humans hunt you for enzymes, and fellow zombies might sabotage your journey. Solve puzzles, find hidden notes, and decide: will you team up or throw your undead pals under the bus?

With 3D graphics, chaotic multiplayer, mini-games, and a heaping dose of humor, your choices have consequences. Are you up for the challenge?

Theme interpretation
Right after the theme word "Secrets" was announced, we knew the gameplay had to incorporate stealth, requiring players to navigate carefully and keep their location a secret from the enemies. This emphasis on secrecy not only shaped the mechanics but also created a tense, thrilling atmosphere throughout the game.

We also wanted the narrative to revolve around a larger, sinister secret—something covered up by the government or a massive corporation. That’s how we developed the darkly satirical premise of Big Pharma exploiting zombies for anti-aging enzymes. The "big secret" isn’t just a plot device; it’s a biting commentary on exploitation and greed disguised as innovation.

Finally, we aimed to flip the traditional zombie genre on its head. Instead of another game about humans surviving a zombie apocalypse, we asked ourselves: "What if the zombies were the victims, escaping from humans?" This inversion brought both humor and originality to the theme. It allowed us to craft a game where players uncover secret codes, hidden notes, and truths, all while deciding whether to collaborate or sabotage their fellow zombies. Secrets aren’t just a backdrop—they’re woven into the core gameplay and story.

Wow impressive to see a game this polished. The 3D work is lovely and all meshes together prefect. The animations and sounds are a great combination. Overall, looks, sounds and feels great. Only issue I had was the camera mode was a little wonky, I felt like I was constantly holding space to figure out what was around me. I ended up making it to the second level where I couldn't find my way out. Also the addition of mulitplayer is awesome. The music is nice and pleasant too. Really impressive game for a month long game jam.

From the get go, I love cutscenes, so props for that! Also the art is so cute and the dialogue sounds are too. The shifting perspective thing is so cool as well. Also the multiplayer is a very nice edition, I had one other random person play with me, but we didn't do anything together. We were both lost hahah. The using-your-arm-as-distraction mechanic is fitting to the story. I like that you made the only way to recover limbs is by sabotaging other players, so adds nice interaction and decision making, should I help others or backstab them? I do think the stealth can be a bitt more forgiving, enemies would chase me even if the cone was green sometimes. I guess they have a " suspicious" mode?

Anyway, this is a fully fleshed out game actually! Great job!! But I think something is wrong with the web version of the game because I got stuck in the loading screen to level 2 forever. I wrote this entire review while waiting for the loading screen to finish, but it didnt :((. So I cannot play more. The same happens when I died in level 1 and pressed retry; I had to refresh the page and rerun the game from the beginning to be able to play again. Not sure if this is a bug or just something with my pc.

Anyway, keep up the great work!

Absolutely insane amount of polish and game for a jam -- amazing job! Cute lil zombie, too

Super polished and impressive especially for a game jam! Great job! It even has multiplayer which is a really impressive achievement given the deadline. For the game itself, playing as a zombie and being able to remove your arm are clever and funny mechanics too.
