Game description
You have recently been hired by [THE COMPANY] where you work as a simple data desk jockey. However, you have other plans! Get to a desk and break through the decryptions to gather all the stolen data, and make it out! Don't mess up too much, wouldn't want you to end up in the middle of nowhere!

Theme interpretation
The entire esthetic of the game is very noir, as that is what came to mind with 'secrets'. The goal of the game is to gather the 'secret' data and make it out.

Wildcards used (optional)

Small Palette

Limit your colors to 4

Speed Run

Make time the enemy

Thank you so much! :D

Loved The visuals had fun with the mazes

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed! :D

I got stuck with my `point` outside of the maze, not sure how. It feels unfinished to be honest. There are 3 puzzles but only maze really needs focus. Other two can be solved by random keyboard smashing. I would like a progress bar or some status of what I am doing, because after 8 rows (of same puzzles) it feels I am stuck at randomized puzzles.

The game and the esthetics of it are great, I love how you managed to minimize your color pallet and I really live what colors you picked. Animations of the character and building are great - I would like to see more of it.

And finally, the soundtrack - it's amazing. I am listening to it while I write this review and it still works!

Developer(+1)

I have.... no clue how that happened, as the algorithm for the maze generates around the cursor... so that is incredibly interesting to say the least! I did want to include some visual progression within the minigames, but I ran out of time, as I am but one silly software engineering student who bit off more than they could chew! But I am glad you enjoyed the visuals, they took the most time! Thanks again for playing! :D

I got the same bug, and it was my first task, so it just seemed like it was either deliberate or the whole game didn't work :(. Without the comments I wouldn't have known it was worth reloading and restarting

I also wish there was omething that froze input while people were talking, rather than making them into concrete blocks that magically stop being concrete when they are done - feels weird and frustrating not to be able to walk past them, then they look identically but now you CAN walk past them.

Developer

I have narrowed down that bug to being an issue with the aspect ratio of some computers! It is not a bug I am currently aware how to fix, as I can't replicate it, even after testing for a while on several different computers... I do like your point of disabling input while NPCs are talking though, and will implement that once the jam is over and I can edit the post again! Thanks for playing! :D

Hey, When i entered the office and went to first floor from reception the dialogue boxes were random. Was that intentional or a bug? Like the dialgues were glitching(disappearing changing randomly reappearing). Also i cleared the maze and the password hack and matching alphabet with numbers quite a number of times but there was no indication of any level or if i made a mistake and have to restart. I solved atleast 5 of them i think. Fun music and cute artstyle though. The concept also looks fun but I would love to have these clarifications!

Developer

Thanks for playing! The dialogue bug occurs because the script that checks if you pressed 'E' executes the same number of times you press 'E', a small but unfortunate oversight on my part lol. As for the length of the minigames I set the number needed to finish WAY to high (60), which is my bad I did not have any time to have people playtest (womp). But thanks for checking it out! :D

Oh got it. No worries, tag me again once you fix the bugs.

I love the theme interpretation, yet the puzzles seem a bit difficult to solve in some cases and sadly they become very repetitive after a while, but otherwise great game!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I accidentally set the amount of puzzles needed to win a bit higher than I intended... Will be fixing once the jam is over!

Interesting take on hacking minigames. I like there is some variety but I did not find them challening. Also, looks like there is some issue with the dialogue. After the elevator I think I may have pressed E more than once and I got a barrage if blinking text boxes and I couldn’t move until they cleared.

Developer

Oh wow that is.... an interesting bug... I will take a look at it! Thanks for playing! :D

I always enjoy mini-games, and these are nicely very done! Would be great if they increased in difficulty/variety as the game progresses. The soundtrack is awesome, by the way!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The the music was done by Alex McCulloch (Jazz Chromatic) and FoxSynergy (Data Corruption) both of which are linked in the game description now! The minigames are timed... I just made the timer WAY too long, and also... not visible... Will be something I fix after the jam is over and I can edit the game! Thanks for playing! :D

Thanks! Yes, it's tricky balancing difficulty vs. playability.

cool game, interesting minigames. Just a little repetitive after a while. Great aesthetics. Good job!

Developer

Thank you thank you! I tried to keep an overall visual theme throughout the whole thing, and hindsight is 20/20 I really couldn't gauge a good length to set the minigames at... when the jam is over I will definitely change it so it is not as long! Thanks again for playing :D

The graphics are cute. The mini-games are easy, especially the password hack one and there's no win or lose condition. I'm sure it will be a fun game if worked on a bit more.

Developer

Thanks! Drawing everything from scratch really ate up more time than I would've liked ;-;

This is a fun proof of concept for what could be a more storied version of this. I will say that what you made works well and you stuck pretty well to the small palette while trying to make things readable. I think if you're going to create a loop, I would also add at least some form of counter or fail condition, but really great work. The program is solid!

Developer

Thank you! The original idea was far more fleshed out narrative wise, but alas, time got the best of me (womp), but thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Time gets us all in the end brother haha, but seriously, good job.

The game is very nice but it gets repetitive after the first minutes, can't fail and can't succeed in a loop of 3 mini games. Good job tho

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I will try and give myself more playtesting time so I can balance the stakes a bit better!

NOTE: Had to reupload to get the proper executables for in browser play... Godot 4 with C# scripting gets very angry when trying to package for web based ;-;
