Awesome game! The atmosphere and audio were the highlights for me! It was hard to see which tiles to walk on but that was one of the only things causing friction otherwise I would easily just walk to the question marks which were very intuitive by the way. I think to make this game more successful another layer of friction is needed. I did feel tense the whole time playing tho and I also really enjoyed the exposition of the world. Great work!

GREAT GAME!!

Not a very difficult gameplay. Just move to the positions as fast as possible. The graphics and sounds are good, but it would be better if the non-solid sprite does not look very similar to a solid sprite or a wall sprite. Good game.

Good game with a unique atmosphere! I was going to say that to spice up the game just remove a spare battery but in the end according to the other comments, no haha

funny how  I can choose to embrace the darkness, however it killed my suspense knowing that I can already see most of the map, the sound design was good, i got a bit scared because of the bgm, nice game

Thank you for playing!

I concur that the battery runs out too fast, but otherwise I really do like the concept (worrying about your flashlight running out of power) and the story is appealing

Developer

Agree about the flashlight battery in hindsight, and I am sorry about that! But really appreciate you giving it a shot! Thank you!

The battery kinda run out fast. And the darkness is not conveyed better since I can faintly see the rest of the map even without the torch. I think giving more battery power can let the player experience the environment even more instead of rushing the map.

Developer

Yeah after watching a family member playtest I 100% agree that the battery runs down way too fast. I made a mess of a few things this jam that should have been better.

Really cool concept! I just found it a little difficult to figure out which floor tiles I could walk on

Developer

I realized this when watching a family member play after the submission deadline was over. I'm sorry about that, it was a stupid oversight (tile color choice etc).

To be something so simple and to  still give me chills is amazing. Great Job!

This game stressed me.. But it was cool!

Atmosphere is on point, simple and also to the point. Great entry

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the atmosphere especially and thank you!

That was very cool!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it!

Very atmospheric, to me the sound design stands out the most here, wonderful visceral sounds and ambience.

I like that its a bite sized package and doesnt overstay its welcome.

Great submission! :D

Developer

Thank you very much!

I choose the darkness and die :)), why is there a choice to choose darkness and lose the game I don't now but made me laugh.

Developer(+1)

"made me laugh".
That is the exact point, you figured it out without meaning to.
There are RPGs that downright tell you with massive warnings not to press a button in the most foreshadowed way possible, but you can do it anyway and often game over and people do it because it's amusing to watch their characters do stupid things. 😅

Good Game

Thank you for playing!

Love the style. Wish it would be a bit more forgiving.

Posted this as a reply to one of the comments on the main page if it is at all helpful:

"I didn't make it explicitly obvious but some of the clues contain spare batteries that you can collect. It was hard to balance the urgency side of things with the small scope of the game level etc."
