Really cool game. Nice music.

Loved the idea when you died your character changes. Great job

The background and the chill music made my day! Thank you!

If you can, please play my gam, too :D

Really a nice simple and effective flyer-racer, kinda reminded me of old PilotWings

The getting a different hair each time you died was a fantastic touch

Fun and simple. I just enjoyed the flying and dodging, and I really liked that you changed into someone else whenever you died/got hit. I didn't think the white balls were obstacles at first so I tried to fly into them xD but overall this was a good entry and the elevator music made the game feel more chill. Nice!

I love the animation when got get hit by a snowball. Very beautiful and satisfying. Good job!

The images you used in this game were awesome. It was beautiful. The music was a perfect fit for the feel of your game. I really felt like I was flying. The controller you implemented felt really good for making me believe I was flying. I just wish the background parallaxed or scrolled something to make me feel like there was more movement. That and some particle effects to create a wind trail behind the avatar would have been awesome. Also that opening menu was cool liked how the character died to take you into the game, nice touch! Great Job, good game!

it had some perspective issue. i could not get it that balls will hit us or i had still time for run away.

I'm the type who doesn't read description, so I thought the white sphere was collectable at first.

Some suggestions if I may.

  • It would be good to have visual cue that tells you that the white spheres are harmful, like adding some spike or make it red.
  • Also, it kinda blend with the background, so having some sort of contrast would be nice.
  • The character is blocking too much of the view, especially in the direction where the danger is coming from. Maybe could try changing the camera angle, like how modern third person shooter games do these days.
  • It's a bit different to tell the movement of the spheres. Maybe could add a trail renderer, so that the flow can be visualised.

Cool flying game. I wasn't able to get all the way to the end, but I like how every time you died you got a new model. The closest I got was 1100. Something like that. I liked that the game got more difficult as you went on!

Really liked your game, you did a great job and it marks the theme really well

Stangley relacing game :D, Music was perfect for it.

Did find the centre section was the safest place to be :D.
Probably needs a bit more randomising.

Loved the respawning as new people each time.
Well done, great jam game. :)

Developer

Thankyou! yeah I semi made the centre roughly safe as I couldn't come up with a good way of stopping the obstacles blocking your vision when you pass them in the middle, within the time frame I had. In future ill find a way to make them transparent after passing by!

Nice little game! It's a little hard to get the perspective sometimes, I would tilt a little the camera maybe.

Well done!

It played ok, i found a few spots you could just sit and pass a huge amount of the game, but nothing that couldn't be easy to fix.

For the game it's aiming to be, it's a good attempt, especially in the 10-day game jam time.

I failed to see the theme in the game tho but the theme was only guidance and didn't need to be followed specifically.

Thanks for the feedback!

No worries, the entire game is built around the theme lol, its samsara/ reincarnation/rebirth, when you click play your character dies and in the game you journey to the after life, each time you dont make it you reincarnate as another life, therefore the character model changes each time you lose.

That was fun and kind of relaxing. The trippy visuals of the different patterns and the great music were a perfect mix.

Developer

Thankyou so much, that was the exact vibe I was going for!!

Great work! It is a bit too difficult for me but it was fun dodging all the balls flying toward me. I like how the character sways when it moves left or right.

To make the game better, maybe you can exaggerate the foreshortening or introduce atmospheric perspective to the balls (the further balls in fogs, the closer the clearer). Sometimes it is difficult to tell how far the balls are because they are all similar in size and shading. The control feels a bit floaty as well.

Overall a very nice attempt!

Congrats on submitting. This was a very chill game with some chill music. I got to 1000 so many times and just zoned out and miss-timed a sphere. I think with sound effects (on hit, or orbs whooshing past) would help this game a lot. :)

samsara = rebirth, i love how you went with the theme :)
at the start in the main menu when the character died when we clicked play, that was really good.
I almost got to rebirth but i died at 1000 XD
This is a nice and chill game ^w^.
I had a hard time seeing where the ball would hit me the first time. But it's easy to get the hang of it.
Great game!

Thankyou so much! youre probably the first person to get the title >.<

Submitted(+1)

No way?? Anyway i thought it was really clever hehehe

I had a tough time always seeing where the obstacles would end up. I think the perspective is perhaps not ideal. Despite that it was still a pretty fun game. I didn't make it to the end because I am bad.

Good job.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thankyou for playing my game! dont worry your not bad, its difficult especially with depth problems, it still takes me a few times to beat, because its such a small game I do like it being as difficult as it is, that being said I do wish I had done something about the perspective or the depth of the obstacles etc

Played and rated. Thanks for this relaxing experience :)

Pros

  • The visuals look heavenly
  • The movement animation supports the flying feeling and feels good
  • The game is relaxing to play
  • The music helps a lot with the relaxing mood

Cons

  • Lacks visual effects
  • The spheres could be replaced by something prettier
  • The time between each try is a bit too long, I got discouraged to try again the closer I was to the end

Overall had a great 5 mins of relaxing flying on my way to heaven. The game only lacks better obstacle models and flying effects.

Would appreciate if you check out and rate our game as well: https://hadilepanda.itch.io/rise-of-necromancy

Thanks for the feedback, yeah I planned to replace the spheres and add variance to the gameplay portion but ran out of time,  I originally had someone making assets for it but they didn't have enough time.

I'll check your game out now!
