To other people: This game be like it is, because it do

I like the idea! I kind of figured out what to do based on the "hint" and what people were saying or not saying in the comments below. I almost got stuck near the end (I thought I had run out of things I could interact with) but I figured it out! Two comments I will try to say without spoiling anything: 1) when the dungeon is slightly different later I couldn't tell what had changed so I restarted and to took a screenshot to compare lol, and 2) sometimes I entered the dungeon from the title before I was ready, maybe entering with a button rather than click anywhere? Not too big a deal since you can die quickly. Thank you for making me think differently!

Developer

Thanks for enjoying it!

I have never expected anyone to take screenshoot for comparing lol.

It was a design decision for able to click anywhere to enter. "Accident discovery" was something I hoped for. On 2nd thought, maybe having a button for start, do have better chance for the accident discovery. Thanks for the comment!

I was determined to finish! Lol

I did not understand what I was trying to do in this game. I ran and died. Then ran and died. Then attacked and died. Then went into a hall and got blocked on a block I could do nothing with. Then saw spikes that did not hurt the enemy and died. So I guess this was about dying well. If that is the case then I did great in your game, I died a lot. So instructions would have been nice, I still have no clue what I am supposed to be doing.

Thanks for trying and being persistent! Sorry for wasting your time.

I admit its rather lack of visual hints on what to do.

The hint is in the UI.

I really tried to solve everything on my own but eventually I cheated :D If I knew what kind of a game it was, I might be able to find the secrets. Maybe you should add a little bit description in the game page.

I downloaded the source code and checked some stuff. Your code and scene are way more cleaner than mine. I liked the idea, the feeling of a repeating nightmare. It might turn into something good I think. Well done, had fun. :)

Developer

Thanks! Glad that you had fun =).

Its meant to be a wtf kind of game and I like to make players find out what they need to do, with minimal unobvious hint. If a player can play without an obvious tutorial, I would think the game is well done.

And its heavily influenced by Stanley Parable and There Is No Game. You should try them out if you like this kind of genre.

The code could have more improvement, but I just code them as I imagine new scenarios.

Sorry, I gave up. No clue what to do, except maybe continue to do the same thing (dying) over and over for a longer period to maybe get more clues.

Developer

Thanks for trying! I could have put more effort on giving better visual hint.

This game had me puzzled for a bit. Quite entertaining when you start to find the secrects

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it =)

I really liked the meta UI stuff. I did not expect it when it happened.

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad that you liked it.

Source in download button from the game page.

Jam Host

Hi there, your source is a bit misconfigured. It needs to not just be the assets folder, but also the Packages and ProjectSettings folders.

Developer

Hi Yang, I have updated with the project folder contents.

May I know why are you guys collecting source codes?

This is the first time I have game jam that request source code as a requirement.
