Played and rated.
Really enjoyed the small experience, it fits nicely for a game jam. What I liked the most was the story. It was well explained and felt like we were part of a story, well done! :)
Would appreciate if you check out and rate our game as well: https://hadilepanda.itch.io/rise-of-necromancy
Thank you.
No need to ask for rate4rate, anyone who takes the time to play my submission and leaves a comment will get a rating from me in return.
I like the little world you built with this. It was pretty enjoyable to explore and collect things while listening to the great music too :)
Thank you
I nearly quit out early on as I was getting beaten up without knowing what I was even supposed to do or how to fight back but then I died and understood. I think the frog needs a bigger trigger box - or are you perhaps using raycasting? It mentioned I needed to be facing him. It was hard to get that to trigger.
I would have liked a HUD display for the runes to know how many I had and the movement felt, not so much fast as slidy - I think maybe you need to speed up her animation so it matches the amount of ground covered.
My first thought was to add them to the hud same as lives and cogs, but then I decided to do it differently. When you press R near the stone circle it will activate as many runes as you are carrying, lighting them up. That way you can see how many you still need.
As for talking to the frog and the sliding movement, I'll change that after rating is over. I'm just glad I got everything working as it is inside the timeframe of the jam. This was actually my first action type game, with movement, AI, and what not. Before this I only made a couple of simple games for young kids (counting, animal sounds, alphabet, memory).
Short and good game. The music is a bit loud and the robot hit box is a bit bigger than the sprite. Other than that good work!
Oh and one more thing, I recommend changing the name of your game to something else, as "death is only the beginning" is a theme of the game jam and your story includes robots and alien planets.
Cool idea, I had fun with your Project. Nice work:)
Thank you
The music is loud. You might want to turn the decibals down a bunch. Art looks nice. I'm a bit lost on what is the goal? I would suggest putting the frog dude near where you spawn. I had all the stones collected before talking to him and I couldn't do anything else.
My plan was to put some info zones here and there that trigger an internal dialog with some hints. Unfortunately I ran out of time.
Your Character Art and Animation is awesome. The robots scared the crap out of me when I first encountered them and they screamed at me :D.
I bugged into the river once and couldn't leave.
Nice work!
I really dig the characters you made, the Frog especially. The robot's dancing after being hit was chef's kiss. I didn't really understand what was happening at first though. I was just dropped into a group of robots with no explanation. Got a little confused there but caught on when I became a ghost. The movement does feel a little weird though, maybe the colliders are to big or something, can't put my finger on it. All around a great entry!
Probably could use the Normalize function on the player transform. it will help with diagonal movement.
Very good art. Music was a tad loud for my taste. But over all good submission.
rate4rate?
You can turn the music off with a button top right. If I decide to further develop the game it will get an options screen with a volume slider and such.
As for rate4rate, I always do that, no need to ask.
Really liked the character art, I couldn't find any cogs after coming back, but maybe just didn't look in the right spot. Fun, and I liked the audio.
They are set to respawn after 60 seconds, might be a bit too long.
Great game, the graphics and the story was Great but i felt The collision and sorting of object was a little off. Nice work!!
Cool art and I like the puzzle aspect! Great submission! I’ve rated your game. I hope that you’ll check out and rate my submission as well. :-)
Ofcourse I will, everyone who took the time to check out my submission and leaves a comment here will get a rating from me in return.
Fantastic graphics! In a second I thought it was even harder than my game, but I understood the afterlife gimmick and it was pretty nice in the story. I found the collision with the robots a little too big, but I enjoyed getting my cogs :-D
Don't tell anyone, but... I think I forgot to turn down their attack radius after setting it higher for some testing :p
:-D something like that already happend to me, I know how you fell ;-) But you can still fix bugs now if you want, they allow little changes after the end os posting.
The first conversion kinda hooked me in, as I thought there will be some sort of time paradox stuff happening. Other than that, the game is quite simple.
Time paradox will be a nice thing to add if decide to make further levels.
nicee art style. It could be more clear about getting hit from enemy and is interaction from behind or front but i like the idea
The robots do damage in all directions around them. You are right though, could have made that more obvious.
Nice job, the aesthetics were really well done. But I was confused on the seconds level on what had to be done after collecting all the gears.
Throw them ( press C) at the robots to repair them. The frog explains what to do if you talk to him.
Thanks. I will give it another go.
Good job man, I liked the phases of the game. It was fun in general.
There was some confusing parts but not so much that would make me stop playing. I could finish the game at first try, which is good. I didn't see any bugs or glitches.
It was fun until I died. After that I couldn't get how to revive my self
Did you talk to the frog?
Oh your right now I did
Great job! I really enjoyed playing it, mechanics are great and easy to understand. Keep up the good work!
