How many people worked on this game total?
Only me - it was *really* tough;;

Did you use any existing assets? If so, list them below.
Yes, the main assets I used were from Unity Japan's "Unity-chan" (all free for download)! I also used some assets from the Asset Store, I think I have received them for free at one point or another, including the SICS Games' Toon series assets, InfinityPBR's Flying Eye monster, and studio lab's Modular Medieval Dungeon which was free last month!

I particularly loved how you handled the switch between 2D and 3D. It needs a bit of polishing, especially around when you can switch. For example, switching in the middle of a dialogue can get buggy. But it's a great effort nonetheless, well done!

Developer(+1)

Whoa, thank you so much!! Yes, I completely agree with you on the polish aspect, though it was there, once. See, I'm *very* new at game development and had no idea that itch.io has a file size upload limit.. Long story short, I had to remove around 70 percent of the entire project just to get it to upload, thus breaking practically everything in the game (plus my mental sanity, ahaha;;). Unfortunately, the playable result is all I could do with just under 20 hours of trying to re-build the logic to have something at least half-decent.. It really was a heartbreaking thing to happen, but at least now I know;;

Still, thank you so much for playing my little game! I'll try to get the logic working again after the jam ends, hopefully not exceeding the size limit!

Very impressive. Loved the story.

Developer

Thank you so much! Yee, I always try to sneak in a bit of story in my games, hehe~ I'm super glad you enjoyed it! And thank you so much for playing, it really means a lot to me! ^^

Submitted(+1)

Hey love the game, especially the ability to switch between 2d and 3d dimension. Good Game!

Developer

B'aww, thank you so much! It was my first time really working with 3D, so I was extremely nervous of how the switch between 2D and 3D would play out in our Life in Two Dimensions, ahaha~ ^^a

But I'm really glad you enjoyed my little game - thank you so so much for playing!!

Submitted(+1)

Nice job! Cool mechanics and nice story! I managed to complete the game! 😎

Developer

Ahh, thank you so much for playing my little game all the way to the end! I'm super glad you enjoyed the story alongside Unity-chan, hehe~ ^^

This was a nice short experience. I thought the puzzles were intuitive and I didn't have any trouble getting through them. I really liked the beginning like room area, it would've been cool if you could've interacted for more stuff there. Maybe you could've I did click on the plants and there was a line for that so maybe I just missed a bunch of stuff but I ran to the computer and it immediately took me to the main portion of the game. Fun experience :)

Developer(+1)

Aww, thank you so much!! I'm really glad you enjoyed my small 2D/3D puzzle adventure, haha~ Yeah, there were some small interactables in the beginning + ending rooms, but in hindsight, I could have made those a bit more stand-out-ish, ahaha~ ^^a

But, it means a lot to me that you experienced the world of my little game, thank you so so much!! :D

Submitted(+1)

The transition between dimensions  was very impressive!

Developer

Thank you! It was my first time really working with 3D so I was suuuuper nervous as to how the transitions would come out, ahaha~ ^^a

But thank you so much for playing my little game!! As a fairly new developer, it really means a lot to me! ^^

Submitted(+1)

We can swap between 2D and 3D! That's something to like about the game.

Developer

Yee! We're living our best Life in Two Dimensions, haha~

Thank you for playing my little game! ^^

We had a nice moment with Unity_Chan in her videogame life. Nice work! :)

Developer

B'aww, thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed your time adventuring with her, haha~

And a huge thank you for playing my little game! It really means a lot to me! <3

It was good.  My only problem would be that ı wasnt able to see shift dimesion instructions before going up the ladder and ı had to look at the description for it so it made it lose the meaning of putting instruction in-game. but other than that it was pretty fun. Loved unity-chan.

Developer

Ohshoot, that was not supposed to happen! I looked into it and it turned out to be a bug with the camera upon uploading. Thank you for letting me know about it! And thank you so much for playing my little game! I'm so glad you enjoyed hanging out with Unity-chan, haha~

Loved my moment with unity chan!

Developer

Aww, thanks! I'm really glad you enjoyed spending some time with her, hehe~

And yeah, for sure! I'm always up for a good game! ^^

Nice way to tackle the theme!  The 2D was a bit janky at times but I made it to the ending.

Developer(+1)

B'aww, thanks! Yeah, unfortunately I had some really severe issues while uploading to itch. I had to delete about 70 percent of the entire project just to get it to upload, which ultimately broke the game and overcrowded it with bugs (the 2D bits being one of the most noticeable aspects, I'm very sorry about that)! But thanks for bringing it up, I'll see if I can get it working again after the jam ends!

Also, thank you so much for playing my little game and reaching the end, I really do appreciate it! ^^

The 3D mode was much better than the 2D, but it's still interesting. We had a pretty similar idea, I did something similar! Good job.

Developer

B'aw, thank you! I love it when great minds think alike - I'm super excited to play your game now, haha~

And yes, I agree - I put a lot more effort into the 3D aspect since it was my first time working with 3D and wanted it to look at least decent, ahaha~ Unfortunately, the time limit didn't allow for much polish in the way of 2D, but I'll try to get that fixed after the jam! Still, thank you so much for playing my little game! I'm off to try out yours now, hehe~ ^^

Unity-chan is so kawaiiiiii!!! <3 super adore her!!!

Encountered a bug tho on the ladder area from the start, can't climb, move, and shift dimension.

but the concept is great, and impressive. Considering also that you made it alone in a short span of time! Great job!

Developer(+1)

Yes, I love Unity-chan so much, too!!! Thank you so much for your kindness and for playing my game!

Also yes, unfortunately there are sooo many bugs.. I'm a *very* new self-taught indie game developer, so I didn't know that itch.io had a file size upload limit. I had to delete about 70 percent of the entire project just to get it to upload, so of course, the entire game broke and caused a massive flood of bugs, including that ladder bug.. Truth be told, I lost my sanity in trying to repair the whole thing and the result is not what I had originally planned... But still, I sincerely thank you so, so much for taking the time to play my little game and for your kind words of encouragement..!! Your support really, really means a lot to me! <3

What a mental scratch, it's very cool

Developer

Aww, thank you so much!! It was my first time working with a bunch of aspects in there (3D, puzzle genre, etc.), so I was really nervous of the final outcome, ahaha~ But really, thank you so so much for playing my little game! It really means a lot to me! ^^

The camera sensitivity was a bit high in my opinion, but nonetheless it was an intriguing concept and fun to play

Developer

Thank you so much!! Yes, I think the camera sensitivity is a bit on the high side too, but for some reason it always plays differently in the Editor versus when uploaded.. I'll have to check that out after the jam is over, so thank you for bringing it up!

And of course, thank you so so much for playing my little game, I'm super glad you had fun playing it! ^^

Submitted(+1)

This was quite impressive, it was a little difficult to know what to do at times but didnt take long to figure it out.

Developer(+1)

Aww, thank you so much~ Yeah! I wanted to create small "head-scratcher" puzzles, not the frustrating "bang-my-head-against-the-keyboard" sort cus we've all been there xDDD

And thank you so much for playing my little game, I really appreciate it! ^^

(+1)

Mindblown! I love these 2D/3D transitions! and it fits the theme so well! Bugs are okay, part of the journey! Can't wait to see more of your work!

Hey Y'all there's an easter egg to Hue will be the death of xx! Just in case ya didnt see it.

Developer

Wow, thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement..!! Ahaha, I'm so glad you caught the little Easter Egg as well, just a small thing~

Once more, thank you so so much for playing my little game!! I'll continue to work hard to hopefully make more enjoyable little creations! ^^

Submitted(+1)

Interesting concept. Very pretty visuals. I kind of got bugged on the 2d section.

Developer

Aww, thank you so much~ Yeah, there are a ton of bugs since I didn't know that itch.io had an upload size limit, so I had to delete about 70 percent of the entire project just to be able to upload it. Needless to say, things got VERY buggy after that;;

But, I'll see if I can fix the 2D section bugs after the jam ends, so thank you for letting me know about it! And a huge thank you once more for paying my little game!!

Submitted(+1)

Impressive for a solo game dev, i like the transition between 2D and 3D, it really fit the Game Jam theme.

I just had a small bug when I get on top of the ladder, the player was blocked. The eyes felt out of the game theme. Otherwise, good job

Developer

Thank you so much!! This was my first time truly working with 3D, so it was all a bit of a challenge, to say the least, ahaha~ I still have no idea how to go about that ladder bug, but thank you for letting me know about it! And thank you so so much for playing my little game! ^^

Submitted(+1)

Good idea, but the character wasn't able to pick up the very first key.

Developer(+1)

Ohshoot, really!? Thanks for letting me know - that's definitely not supposed to happen, oops!

But still, thank you so much for playing my little game! ^^
