Love your game, the artistic style reminds me of games like Risk of Rain or Dome Keeper. I managed to achieve 8400 points on the first try. Great Game, keep doing what you do :)

Hey there, like some people already said, the file you uploaded is not the build, it's the whole project / source code. You need to build the project. You can do that by going to File > Build Settings > Select your Platform (in the bottom left) that you want to build for, for example Windows. Then select "Build" in the bottom right. If you don't see a "build" button, click on the "switch to platform" button. it should take a little while and then you should be able to build it. After its done building you navigate to the folder and zip the whole build folder. You can also just look up a video tutorial on how to do that, for example this one:
Then you should be golden and everyone can playtest it :)
Btw. I managed to download your code and compile it in unity. The level looks nice and i noticed that you implemented a music switch depending on the biome / terrain that you are in. That's a cool idea! I also like the character model, did you create that by yourself? Currently the game is more like a walking simulator than a rpg, but the potential is there and I hope you keep working on it :)
This has potential, I like the game and want to play more of it, but I only got to AL, because of two bugs I had while playtesting (on Windows):
1. When I press esc to open the menu i don't see my mouse cursor, which i think was supposed to be visible in the menu ui. And after I press esc again to close it, i can't control my character anymore.
2. The other bug is similar: The mouse cursor also doesn't show up when talking to AL, so it is really hard to click on any of the lines.
Other than that the game is really interesting and I would love to give it another go, so please let me know as soon as you fix the bugs.
Thanks for the feedback. Hard to say, but it sounds like a bug we had. I thought we fixed it, but maybe we missed something. Did you by any chance go back to the title screen and pressed on "start" again without closing and opening the game? Because we did have a bug where going back to the Titlescreen while in the orange dimension and pressing "Start" again, would fuck up the dimension switching.
We will keep it in mind and fix it, if the bug shows up again.
Love the game, found all potions, but couldn't find the sword. But I'm sure you already have an idea how to fix that.
I found a bug right at the start of the game, where I went left, climbed up the wall and died to the barrier. But i was still able to move around even though my character was invisible and I managed to jump off the map by keep walking to the left side and pressing space. My character never respawned and the game over screen never showed up, so i had to restart the game. I played it in the web browser.
Maybe change the block that the candle's stand on. It looks the same as the block that you can jump on / collide with and I kept jumping on those blocks and wondering why i fall through, until i noticed that they all have a candle on top of them. Maybe make them similar to the background, so that it's clear, that you can't jump on them.
Other than that, great game, good introduction, love the visuals, the music and the sounds.
Love the game, especially the visuals. Everything feels very smooth and polished. I think the game would benefit from multiple difficulty levels. That way casuals can enjoy the game as much as hardcore enthusiasts. For example for easy difficulty you could let players have either more health or checkpoints, so they don't have to start from the beginning after each death. Other than that, the game is really fun and addicting. I kept challenging myself to go further with every death. You deserve more comments and votes.
Thanks for the feedback. This is the most annoying thing for us too, we were playtesting this game for days, so we definitely noticed it very early on. It has to do with the 3rd person controller that we took from the unity starter assets. We will probably create our own 3rd Person controller from scratch after the game jam so that we can customize it to our hearts content. Then the delay should be non existent or at least not noticeable. Basically we will try to make the character controller as fluent as possible :) Thanks for playing!
I love the visualization of sound in the game, it's so on point. The puzzles are well balanced, not to hard not to easy. But I feel like the "visual" dimension is a little to weak though. What i mean by that is that i feel like i was solving the puzzles 80% in the sound dimension and only 20% in the visual dimension. Maybe you can balance that a little bit more. Other than that great game. Had fun and as I said, the visualization of the sound dimension is so well done. Great job!
I finished the game and must say very cool game idea. I had a lot of fun playing it. I wish there was music though.
Also i noticed a big number showing up. Maybe make that counting down? For example you start at 1 Million something and every time one of the player characters dies the number is reduced by one. Gives the game some kind of urgency not to die too often and also makes it feel like there are now less "you" in the multiverse. That could also be imbedded into the story, where the player tries to leave the facility, because he's scared that he will eventually be the last "you" in the multiverse.
Anyway. Great game, this has potential!
First of I would like to say that I appreciate the hints in the game, they really helped. But i would tone down the sound effect when a letter is being typed.
Second i found two "bugs" in the game, one is right after you kill the mutant and you are supposed to go into the bunker. Instead of going into the bunker I looked around went behind the tower and couldn't move out of there anymore, I started pressing buttons in hopes of getting out of there and then the next level loaded i think q or e where the last buttons i tried.
The other bug was inside the tunnels and is not really a bug but more so a level design issue, I took a couple of wrong turns and found a tunnel that lead me to the end of the map, where I fell through into nothing.
I wish the character was a little bit higher or the levels smaller, it feels like I'm close to the ground like I'm playing a toddler with a shotgun.
Also visual effects when you shoot something with the gun would also be nice, so that the player knows if the bullet actually hits the target.
Other than that I really liked the game, You can shoot, you have enemies and you have triggers / interactables. Well done! Please keep working on the game, would love to see more :)
Nice game, the controls are a bit weird. I think it's because you move depending on where you aim with the mouse. I think it would be easier to control if you aim and move seperately from each other. So aim with the mouse and move with wasd without taking a look at where the mouse is. I also tried moving with the gamepad, but the movement there was weird as well.
Other then that I really liked the game, especially the aesthetics which reminded me of tron and the hacking minigame was on point as well! Well done :)
Thanks for your kind words! Yes, we chose purple to represent blue+orange, because if you mix the two colors it's an ugly olive green xD We might switch to a more basic red and blue which would make more sense with the purple. We will also try to introduce the player to one mechanic at a time. That should make it easier for new players to learn the mechanics :)
