I love the role reversal concept and the gameplay is very fun! It's a tough game, but it's definitely the type of game where you can feel yourself improving quickly as you learn to recognize the patterns of the balls / get more comfortable with the controls. Nice job on this one!

Developer

Thanks so much! It's easy to forget I have an unfair advantage when testing the game that I know all the patterns lol!

This is awesome, I really like this game and didnt expect to that much when i saw the page and was thinking it would be some kind of normal bowling game. This is really fun and I found myself wanting to keep playing it to get a better score. I played it on my youtube and gave my reaction and feedback if you want to check it out you can here

Developer

Holy cow, thank you so much! That's awesome! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Cool concept of reverse bowling dodging the oncoming bowling balls, and interesting mechanic and controls there on how you dodge them. Great job!

Developer

Thanks so much!

I just played the game, it is polished and looks great. the game idea is creative, fun, and engaging!

I love the graphics and the music, especially the intro music because it sounds like Megalovania a little bit :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much!

And I agree, that intro music absolutely slaps. Once I found it on the free music archive, I knew I had to use it!

I really like this modelling style, it looks exactly like The Coin Game ^v^

Also, interesting twist with selecting a position and then pressing space to actually go there. It certainly makes it easier to avoid accidentally going somewhere you don't want to go!

Developer(+1)

That was my hope with those controls! I felt real hesitant about them at first, since it feels a little clunky. But I felt like I had better control that way. It also helped make the jump animation easier too, since it allowed for a warning before the jump.

Great theme! My highest score was 22, it's impossible to go any further

Developer

I believe in you! Thanks for playing!

This one made me laugh, this is such an unique bowling game !!!

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it

Great use of the theme, very original, controls felt a bit sticky but otherwise well done :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Very interesting theme choice! It is really perfect 5 stars. Really spending some serious time. Thank you for your efforts, I really enjoyed your game.

Nice, an interesting take on the theme! The game is well polished and looks nice too. Good job :D

Thanks so much!

Interesting theme choice with pins i like it :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I thought it would end up being pretty unique, but looks like a bowling theme was actually more popular than I expected!

Thanks for playing! I'll add yours to my list to try next!

Wow this was the most action I've been able to experience in a bowling lane I was not expecting that! Simple but very fun concept which is perfect for the game jam time allotment. You were able to polish the mechanic of last pin standing so that it felt very rewarding and fun to play. I appreciated the difficulty challenge and never felt frustrated but rather inspired to click retry and make another last stand.

Visuals looked fantastic, impressive that you made all those yourself with Blender and the soundtrack was funkalicious :D

Developer

Thanks so much! I really appreciate that!

Wow this one was sweet!!!!
Visuals - Really awesome and clean 3D aesthetic, I think sometimes 3D can be difficult because so much depends on having good lighting and you did a really nice job here.

Gameplay - had a blast playing and I was pleased to find that there were quite a large number of attack formations that the bowling balls would throw at me.

Music and Sound - a fun and funky vibe that put me instantly in a bowling alley.

Great work!

Developer

Thanks so much! That all means a lot!

I'm jealous of the music, UI, and 3D models you used in this game, very good job ! It's very nice to see same idea that I have, but done a bit differently :)

Developer

Thanks so much! Everything but the music and textures for the models was made by me! I'm really glad you liked it!

And I agree! I've been trying to play through all the bowling game submissions I can find. It's awesome how many different takes we all had on the same idea!

What a cool Idea, now I know how the pins in those strike animations feel like.

amazing job, and cool bouncing animation on the pin.

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! I thought about having the camera zoom out when the player gets hit and it turns out that was a strike animation lol, but that ended up being too much for the time frame.

Great music that complimented well the general mood, a creative idea, animations, and excellent visuals! The learning curve might be a little too steep, I could not go past the first wave...

Developer

Dang, I'll have to keep that in mind for future games. I thought about implementing a "first few waves are easier" rather than it being purely random, but I never got around to it.

Thanks for playing it though!

I would suggest always making jam games more on the "easy" side. You want people to see all you did.

Submitted

Awesome stuff! The pin bouncing animation and randomized music were great touches

Developer

Thank you! Glad you liked the music!

Really fun game! I was able to hit 105 points until those 2 diagonal bowling balls got me.

I liked the variety of songs and the quality of the 3D models. I specially noticed the pin jumping/hopping animation for moving over to the specific positions. This is the type of movement animation I wanted to have for my game, but I suck at making models and doing animations so I ended up just having bowling pins that slide around lol.

Great job on the game!

Developer

Nice! 105 is high up there!

Thanks for the nice feedback! Getting that pin jump animation working was real finicky, but I was happy with how it turned out. I’m glad you noticed it!

Some nice music choices for this style of game! A bowling game was one of the early ideas I had, but I never thought of playing as the pin! Love it, this is well-executed!

Developer

Thank you!

Love to see another tenpin bowling themed game 😎

I like your take on the bowling theme! I enjoyed the variety of shots where it telegraphed the rows where balls were about to come down, warning me before I had to dodge.

If you don't mind some constructive feedback, I felt that only the back row of positions was useful as it gave me the widest range to dodge incoming balls. Removing the space bar press would make the controls feel much more responsive too!

Overall fun game and congrats on the submission! Getting a game out as a solo dev is an achievement!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for the feedback!
I felt the same way about the back rows being the best place to be. I had considered adding a score multiplier for if you dodged the balls while being further up, but it didn't end up making it in.

Thank you for playing it though! I'll have to check out yours next!
