I'm pretty bad at this! I understand (or I think I understand) the best strategy is to find a stand which just barely beats your opponent in most categories so you can manage resources correctly. I'm not always good at doing that, I see a lot of numbers and after a bit I feel "this is probably fine" and then lose. :D
The first time I played went to a third round where I lost in the very final. The second time I lost in around two and then, sheerly by luck, I won my third attempt in the first round with four victories in a row.
I can't offer much in the way of feedback! Everything works well, it's a game of luck mixed with strategy like cards are generally intended to be. You could, perhaps, make the 'spin' for comparing categories more dramatic and flashy with slot machine visuals or sound effects?
Or, if you wanted to get really crazy, you could show the various stands 'fight' based on the category result, like a larger stand stomping on a smaller stand. Which would take a lot more time and I wouldn't recommend trying during a game jam's time frame. :D
Thanks for playing. Yep, they were all things I would have added if I had time. I had built all the models of the stands so they could appear in the arena fighting, but in the end only used them to generate the images for the cards.
I love card game video games, and this was really fun! I like the balance of strategy and chance, all good card games need that and I think you did a great job with it. Congrats!

Nice take on the theme using top trumps, like the clean graphics and background. Think I found a bug, you can drag a card that's lost into the battle slot (visually doesn't appear, but game plays as if it is), runs into an infinite loop. Apart from that very well done!

Kept wanting to use the "Pretend You're in Australia" card, but it only let me use a card once. I guess I somehow won by luck anyway....I think. Really liked this game, a very fun experience, thanks for making it!
Thanks. And yes, the whole game is mainly based on luck, from the cards you are delt to the category that is randomly selected.
You can only use a card once per round, and they are discarded if you lose a battle with them, so you only go into the next round with your cards that won in the previous round.
This game is comedy gold!

Ah, my same name rival. I think you win on the theming here. Very easy to learn and funny too. Really like the text on each card. My favorite stand is the bat stand. Those bats have gotta go somewhere.
