The sounds and voice are great and it really brings an immersive experience.
As other comments already said it needs more sound cues or improve existing ones to make more easy to find and locate the raindrops.
Probably irrelevant for this jam but the grass effect looks really cool.
Yes the grass is an excellent one by GDQuest from Godot Shaders website that managed to port well from 3.4 to 4.2 godot versions.
I really love the voice and atmosphere in this game. I had a hard time figuring out what to do and how to get to the raindrops and could never find the last one. I think there needs to be a different audio cue when you're turning but again I love the rich atmosphere in the game.
This is an excellent idea with a somewhat lacking execution.
I love the format of placing instruments on an audio soundscape, and the setting is pretty cool too.
The sound design is of course excellent, and the voice you chose really fit the theme.
I wish the game used lower pitches to represent behind, especially for raindrops, drums, and south facing steps while turning. I know that screws up the soundscape a little bit, but it's really important IMO.
As with many others, I was not able to complete the last raindrop sadly.
The background ambience are gorgeous, but seem to include some raindrops them selves which can be misleading.
For some reason, when I pressed or held the WASD and space keys, I got a Windows sound. It's the one I usually get if trying to press a key that isn't available. I'm not sure why that happened here though... Maybe something to do with the Window's focus?
Though this game is mechanically quite simple, I still feel that it does a really good job of setting a scene. I was excited to see that comment on the game page about it being updated. I would love to see the game expanded, but either way, thank you very much for participating in the jam, and I really hope you come back again next year!
Thank you for all the feedback! I also had my dad try and he could also only get 3/4 drums placed. The update is mostly little fixes to improve clarity. Strange thing about the Windows sound playing on pressing keys. Not sure what causes that, I do know on regards to window focus that I lock mouse to the screen.
Good concept. There were a couple of instances where I hit walls but I was able to find all of the raindrops in the end.
I loved the concept and themes of community, healing, and nature. And the voice acting is so soothing, I could listen to it all day.
I wish the A and D keys strafed instead of turning. That would have helped me judge position and distance of the raindrops, based on how much the left/right balance of the sounds changed when I moved.
More audio feedback when you are at the edge of the level would be helpful, too. There is a sound that plays when you approach a "wall", but no more feedback after that if you are still walking into the wall. I spent at least a minute walking into a corner without realizing it, until I opened my eyes. More rustling sounds while walking along the wall would have helped.
Overall, it's a great concept, but I wonder if the gameplay would work better as something other than a first-person game.
Thank you for joining us on this journey and for your criticisms. The tank controls are never preferred, but it was thought it might help those physically impaired. The code to do strafing is still there, so I could easily readd it or add an options menu for more accessibility options. The border sounds are another easy fix, such as repeating on movement and still in range. Granted I don't do anything too major this spring break, then or summer is when I might return for some tweaking, considering how much feedback I've been getting!
Super fun game, even though I don't play a bunch of audio games, the audio cues for the raindrops were super useful and didn't feel like just a substitute for the visuals. Still had difficulty figuring out exactly where to place the drum, so stronger audio cues would be valuable!
Short game with a good audio. Just a bit difficult to determine the distance to the water drop in front of us. Otherwise, I like the challenge that it bring when multiples drums are near. 🪘
Storytelling is so immersive! I enjoyed it, there's a lot of lore in such a tiny piece of art. Rhythm and music, along with nature sounds, fit perfectly.
