I thought this was a pretty simple, but very fun game to pick up and play! I thought the graphics were cute and the music sounded nice, but didn't feel 100% Gameboy to me. A game to really be proud of for sure, though! Great work!

cool game! i like the upgrade system very interesting

The gameplay loop feels really nice, getting upgrades is satisfying and it's all very easy to understand and play.

It didn't feel a lot like a gameboy game for me tho, be it the gameplay (using only one of the two face buttons), the visuals(tons of sprites on screen, and a rendering look that doesn't really evoke nostalgia) or the sound (more chiptune than GB), there was always something a bit off.

Still, a great entry and a fun game!

Im guessing there is no end to the game? I swear I cleared something like 30 rooms or so and it seemed like the rooms started repeating. Was nice to get a change of music though somewhere around halfway through that grind. Wish the sword was more useful.  Great game!

Hi!

There are 22 rooms to clear 😉

Thank you so much for playing!

Awesome game! I love every single thing about it! Keep it up!

I liked how the game focuses on movement with the autoattacks but I couldn't predict well when it was going to attack with the sword, the sfx&music aren't bad but it was kinda repetitive after some time. It was a good experience overall!

It's okay, but I wonder why the players can't control the direction of their attacks.

You made Vampire Survivor work on such a tiny resolution! That's awesome!

Very well executed. A couple of suggestions:

  • Allow the player to control the direction the sword rotates, based on whether they're facing left or right.
  • Add some sort of warning to enemy spawn events, so players can avoid getting hit by them as they spawn.

Great game, congrats!

Thank you for your feedback! 😀

Super clean! Really creative use of auto-attacks, plus the pace of plants and player speed is perfect!

I did find on most levels the plants tend to get stuck behind a block (I didn't use this to cheese the levels... only a little)

Agree with another comment - when the second sound track hits, really made me sit up!

This is fun! Interesting design decision to have the attacks automatic. This had the effect of making it almost feel like a shmup. And when that second soundtrack kicks in...oh BABY. Well done!

Mechanics are fun! This would be really good as a Rogue-like.
